It peaked at #39 on Billboard in February. The song was written by Bowen and Lee Thomas Miller and off his album, The Given.
Wade Bowen has been one of the most successful Texas regional artists over the past 15 years, releasing numerous singles and albums, with just a few going to mainstream radio. In 2011 he hooked on with Sea Gayle publishing and signed to BNA Records.
I love Wade Bowen's music and "Saturday Night" was so damn good. A true country song about heartache but done in an uptempo way with a deceiving title. You don't know it's a sad song until the end of the first verse. Great melody, great music, great lyrics. Shocked it didn't get higher at radio and is way too low here.

Not terribly surprised since it wasn't a hit, but way too early to lose Wade Bowen. Such a great country song, he just came along at the exact wrong time for what radio was starting to play. Been a big fan of his ever since though, he's continued to put out some really great music ("When I Woke Up Today" probably being my favorite).

That and "Saturday Night" are my two favorite radio singles from him.

This was a weird year for me... I didn't tank (most of) the Keith Urban's, Blake Sheltons's or Kenny Chesney's! 😱

This song was so great, the melody was infectious and the amount of sass Kristen Kelly gives is great. In any other era I think she'd be a big star but being a female that wasn't Carrie, Miranda or Taylor in 2012-2014 was a death knell except maybe Jana Kramer and even then she got 2 hits.

Every big rankdown like this, I look back at my list and think 'I underranked that song'. My Ex-Old man has been the one this rankdown, I have been liking it more and more with each listen and wish I had put it in my top 40.

I know I'm in the minority, but I have always felt like "Come Wake Me Up" is a great song. I consider it to be one of Rascal Flatts' most underrated hits of the past decade. I have always loved Gary's vocal delivery on this song, and the production really worked for me and complemented the song perfectly imo.
I can never remember how "For You" goes, but I definitely know I would take this Keith Urban back in a heartbeat over the shitty knockoff version of Keith Urban that we are being constantly subjected to nowadays. "You Gonna Fly" is pretty safe mainstream fodder, but again, sounds great by comparison! I do enjoy this one when it comes on!
"A Woman Like You" is a great song. The only reason it's as low as #63 on my list is because it's one of those songs that I just don't feel like listening to on heavy rotation. Like, I like it a lot, but would probably have loved it if it hadn't been such a huge hit. I tired of it very quickly. Still, it's a very strong song, with great lyrics!
I don't know much about Kristen Kelly, but "Ex Old Man" is a delightfully "redneck" theme that is a lot of fun on paper! I don't have a lot of specific attachment to the song itself, but it is a great idea for a song!

"Wanted You More" was not one of my favorites from the parent album. There were a number of string-laden songs on that album and WYM was not one of the better ones. I thought "Sleepy Little Town" was actually a pretty good song. Both of those JT Hodges songs are rather forgettable tho tbh. He's cute as hell tho, and a very rare breed because I don't think I've ever seen any human being that had black hair and blue eyes. I also thought his lower notes slightly resembled the voice of Eric Church, am I the only one? "I Ain't Your Mama" is a nice little jam but I have to say that one's also rather forgettable in the long run. Maggie Rose's voice reminds me a lot of Hillary Scott's...Hillary's tone is a bit softer tho. Who else hears Hillary? "We Can't Be Friends" is a WONDERFUL song. You can hear her pain and it elevates the song to a very high level. Kelleigh Bannen is an artist I haven't had too much use for at all to be quite honest. I agree with .indulgecountry however that "Church Clothes" is by far her best and deserves to be cut by someone who can turn it into the #1 smash it deserves to be. Anyone who is shocked that Taylor Swift made it nearly into the Top 60...shouldn't be, lol. It's Taylor Swift. Her name alone was going to balloon this song to a higher position in any case. I happen to love this one (although I will agree it's not much country, but I digress) and fun fact, my late aunt never liked a SINGLE SONG from Taylor until WANEGBT came out...and then she never liked another one from her ever since. Katie Armiger has a great voice but "Better In A Black Dress" got more tedious for me to listen to the more it progressed. Seems like a perfect spot for it to leave where it did. Faith Hill should've pulled one of the other pieces she'd recorded for Illusion and sent it out instead, and THEN followed it with "Come Home," as it's a great song and I'm sure the album was going to be wonderful. Maybe if she'd done that, we'd have gotten to hear the whole record. It really is heartbreaking that her last non-holiday solo album was released 15 years ago, with no sign of coming back anytime soon. Neither of the Kristen Kelly songs did anything for me. I went to hear "He Loves to Make Me Cry" and I wish she would've stripped that one down, as I was expecting a more somber sound based off the title.

WHAT A DAMN MESS OF A REVEAL DAY! -throws furniture-
I can't believe some of y'all did Missin' You Crazy dirty (you know what, I actually can :sip2:). It'd be interesting to see how it would've done in this had it been a #1 in the midst of his California Sunrise singles instead. Probably my favorite Pardi song and I really love his "Office Jim" hair before he felt the need for a facade with the constant cowboy hat.
Drink in my Hand is kind of a shock to be out before top 40 as well.
I guess y'all didn't hear the Storm Warning. :sip2:

"Drink In My Hand" and "Storm Warning" deserved better but I'm not even a tiny bit surprised to see them out already. Can Taylor Swift's terrible "Ours" please exit now. I hate that song

Maybe I don't ever pay close enough attention to the lyrics, but I don't see what's bro-country about "I Don't Want This Night to End" aside from the so damn hot line. Even that I don't feel is all that harmful. It's probably the nostalgia talking tho, lol. I love a lot of Luke Bryan's music and this one was always fun to hear on the radio as a kid.
