I knew "I Got My Country On" would hands down be my first top 10 loss, but the melody in the chorus especially is just so AMAZING! I adore Chris Cagle, which is clearly not a very popular opinion around here minus a few songs lol, so I'm not shocked this song got done so dirty especially since it's a style of country y'all hate.

"Banjo" is just horrendous. I remember one time this was playing at the mall when I was in the food court, and you know how everything echos in the mall, so all I heard was this song and Gary LeVox's nasally whiny unpleasant voice PERMEATING the whole entire mall and being magnified to the highest extent, it was DREADFUL! It scarred me.

I love Jessie James but she lost all her edge as time went on, which is super sad. This song was decent, but nothing I'd revisit.

Good bye, good riddance, fuck this song. Also fuck GAC for playing this video all the time so it was overplayed in a different way for me (I was convinced because of it this was a Top 5 single).

#105. Miss Willie Brown - "You're All That Matters to Me"
Total Points: 1,869 Average: 84.9 Year Released: July, 2012 Mediabase Peak: #48 Billboard Peak: #43 Rankings:.indulgecountry - 27 sabre14 - 41 toomuchboy - 44 bboat11 - 49 Kanenrá:ke - 52 kw9461 - 65 gardyfan - 76 dgarcia3377 - 78 recordyear - 83 LBTrocks - 87 bigfan101 - 88 tim - 93 Cody Wants Out... - 95 zaclord 🌈 - 102 raylatch98 - 104 castleoblivion26 - 105 fearlessarrow - 107 lady𝓐fan - 107 ClevelandRox - 111 someguy - 111 austin - 120 fireflies - 124 Following: kamala 2024 truther "You're All That Matters to Me" was released as the only charting single for Miss Willie Brown in July of 2012. It peaked at #43 on Billboard in September. The song was written by Mutt Lange and produced by Nathan Chapman. It was promoted to radio through Rodeowave Entertainment, but their main label was A&M/Octone.
Miss Willie Brown was a duo comprised of Amanda Watkins and Kasey Buckley. They disbanded in 2013. Watkins pursued a solo career afterwards, including releasing a single featuring Jamey Johnson in 2015 called "If I Was Over You."
This song is just fun -- it has such a great melody, which is no surprise since it's a Mutt Lange penned song, and I think Miss Willie Brown were perfect for it since they were fairly charismatic. I can see how it's a little too "in-your-face" for some, however.

I'm not a fan of him, but I thought "Trouble With Girls" was better than "Water Tower Town." From having to listen to one of his recent singles ("In Between") in another rankdown, I think he's improved somewhat over time. Still doubt I'll ever be a fan though...

Yikes, that Miss Willie Brown song was my favorite discovery of the rankdown... Such fun, upbeat energy, and like sabre said, they are a very charismatic duo! Can't believe they got stuck in the 100s! at Scotty McCreery being wiped off the face of this rankdown already. His early songs are not THAT bad, y'all. Like, I wouldn't have been surprised to see him wiped out by the top 80 or so, but to not even escape the 100s?! Still, not upset about it or anything. He really doesn't do much for me as an artist. "See You Tonight" is the first single that I actually liked enough to pay attention to, and since then he just continued to be so-so. I actually don't mind "Banjo". It's not one that I ever feel like seeking out, but I'm not gonna lie I might crank it up if it randomly came on... I hated "Feel Like A Rockstar" back in the day, just like everyone else, but tbh I kinda digged it just a little bit when revisiting for this rankdown... I can at least see what they were going for now, even if it's still not my favorite style! I have no problem with the lyrics of "Bait A Hook". It's just that Justin Moore's vocals are sooooooo irritating and grating....

"Feels Like A Rockstar" is just noisy mainstream dreck to me. I've never been able to get into it. He says while stanning for "Kick It In The Sticks" and "The Weekend"....

Water Tower Town is completely unlistenable.
I remember “You’re All That Matters To Me” from 2012 and I hated it then, too. The vocal arrangement is basically one big chant. I don’t care for their vocals much at all either. And that video... oof, I know it’s supposed to be ‘fun’ but... no. Neither the song or it’s video are fun, glad this is out early.

"Bait A Hook" is meant to be a joke but it's still one I don't find funny. Might be because it hits close to home on how I was bullied, idk it's just trash not worth listening to.
"Feel Like A Rock Star" is simply beneath these two artists. I don't even like Kenny and I know he should do better.
"Things You Can't Do In A Car" is in my meh category, don't hate it but it doesn't really make me feel anything good either.
"Got My Country On" is Chris' worst single, my only real positive take away is that it was able to bring him back to radio!
"Banjo" is just lively enough for me to find some good in it compared to how I usually feel about RF.
"Military Man" has a bit of a clunky melody but I really enjoy the song. Jessie is always able to sell me on a song.
"Water Tower Town" is the best of Scotty's Mercury singles imo. He was such a bore during his time there and I guess it was with whatever team he had while signed there?
"You're All That Matters To Me" is such a great jam, my only complaint is I wish their vocal was slightly toned down. May have made the song a bit more palatable.

For Blake Shelton, “Drink On It” is actually pretty good. It’s not something I go out of my way to listen to, but I never mind it when it’s on the radio.

I'm a bit surprised to see this do so poorly when there's a handful of others that should've likely exited before this one. Personally I've always loved the easygoing melody and find this song to be kind of an earworm on radio.

Yeah as far as Blake singles from this era go, "Drink On It" is on the higher end for me. The easy going melody as tim said is the biggest selling point for me. "Over" should've been gone by now.

seeing songs like "Endless Summer", "Military Man", "Banjo", "Drink On It", and "Water Tower Town" out before songs like "Camouflage", "Like A Dog", "The Wind", and "Underdog" is just sad. ESPECIALLY "Camouflage" and "Like A Dog" those two need to go immediately!

Yeah y'all are gonna hate me but I had "Over" in my Top 40 of ranks. Something about that song for me just clicked, where as "Drink On It" was just sludge to me, no melody, lifeless vocals, phoned in production.
But can we at least get rid of "Wanted You More"? Seriously that song is awful imo.

seeing songs like "Endless Summer", "Military Man", "Banjo", "Drink On It", and "Water Tower Town" out before songs like "Camouflage", "Like A Dog", "The Wind", and "Underdog"I have the luxury of having the rankings in front of me, so I know I'm an outlier with song opinions in 2012 (trust me), but I honestly have no idea why people dislike "Underdog." It's The Lost Trailers (the duo version) but I think it's one of the best singles this year in terms of song quality. "Camouflage" is weird because I kinda enjoy it but I TOTALLY get why some would hate that song lol. "Like My Dog" I also enjoy lmao. I will get some heat for rankings this year, just wait haha.

#102. Big & Rich - "That's Why I Pray"
Total Points: 1,814 Average: 82.4 Year Released: May, 2012 Mediabase Peak: #15 Billboard Peak: #16 Rankings:sabre14 - 22 tim - 44 .indulgecountry - 45 fireflies - 50 zaclord 🌈 - 56 Cody Wants Out... - 58 lady𝓐fan - 68 Kanenrá:ke - 73 bboat11 - 75 recordyear - 77 bigfan101 - 79 fearlessarrow - 84 dgarcia3377 - 85 gardyfan - 92 castleoblivion26 - 96 LBTrocks - 96 austin - 106 kw9461 - 113 ClevelandRox - 122 raylatch98 - 123 someguy - 124 toomuchboy - 126 Following: kamala 2024 truther"That's Why I Pray" was released to country radio as the lead single off Big & Rich's Hillbilly Jedi album in May of 2012. It peaked at #15 on Mediabase in September. The song was written by Danelle Leverett (now Nelly Joy), Blair Daly and Sarah Buxton. It received a Clear Channel debut, which made it debut at #33 on Mediabase and #24 on Billboard.
Loved Big & Rich's debut album, really enjoyed their sophomore album, the third was pretty good, but Hillbilly Jedi was awful lol. "That's Why I Pray" and "Cheat on You" were the only good songs on it. I think this song hits on the subject of hope well, although it was an odd lead single choice (although the rest of the album didn't exactly scream lead single). I knew it would have tankers though, so I'm not surprised at all.
I always found it funny this song had the exact chart run "8th of November" had in 2006. Top 40 debut on Mediabase and both singles peaked at #15 on MB -- even released the same month (May) and peaked the same month (September) lol.
