This was the lead single released in 1995 off of the Welcome To The Neighbourhood album. It was written by Diane Warren. It featured Patti Russo. It was a surprise hit peaking at #13 in the U.S. and #2 in the UK.
The music video was a continuation of the "I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Wouldn't Do That)" video with the same actors and everything.
The original version was 6:41 in length and the main radio edit was 4:45 in length though there were several different edits. Most of them shortened the intro and the multiple choruses after the bridge.

I was a big fan of this. I discovered this when I was on a flight to Germany in 1995. I loved how dramatic and over the top this was. It's a beautiful duet. The video is ridiculous though.

Lol I don't remember this one and assume it's a reference to the reverse line in his big hit from the previous album where he said "I'd never lie to you and that's the truth." I will have to check this one out today.

"I'd Lie for You (And That's the Truth)" by Meat Loaf is my flashback of the day. 25 years ago today, it got a second week at No.13, its Hot 100 peak position. It reached No.2 in the U.K. The interesting thing is that although it was written by Diane Warren and produced by Ron Nevison, it sounds 100% like a Jim Steinman record.
