Hot Country Knights' debut album, The K Is Silent, is out now! As someone who listens to a lot of contemporary country, this was a refreshing album and I think it's going to be one of those albums I can play front to back and not have the urge to skip any songs!

Can someone tell me the original songs referenced/based on for each track?

Can someone tell me the original songs referenced/based on for each track? âMoose Knuckle Shuffleâ is totally derived from Tracy Byrdâs âWatermelon Crawlâ. âThen It Rainedâ is practically close enough to be a direct parody of Garthâs âThe Thunder Rollsâ. And this one was not as obvious, but I think I heard Tim McGrawâs âMaybe We Should Sleep On It Tonightâ in âMull It Overâ. Everything else seemed to be original material upon first listen đ

"Then it Rained" is hilarious.
I was pleasantly surprised to hear that it's not just Dierks providing lead vocals! As a longtime fan, it's nice to see his road band getting to show their chops a bit here as well; they're all immensely talented.
I still haven't fully bought into this side project - I could do without all of the rather childish innuendo and raunch if I'm being honest, but from a sonic perspective, this is great, and there is certainly plenty to be said for Dierks not taking himself too seriously.
I could have done without "The USA Begins With US" but in general I think this is solid. And even though I could do without the innuendo, etc, I can see how clever the wordplay is on this album - and that isn't an easy thing to write, so props to Dierks and his team of writers here, too!

Can someone tell me how âthen it rainedâ is allowed to not include the songwriters of âthunder rollsâ & âmidnight in montgomeryâ? Itâs obviously the same song.
