"Shot Glass" is really great and I'm very happy and not at all surprised it made it this far, but man, "Strange" just hits different lol it's gorgeous and has a really haunting feel to it. I adore the instrumentation and melody

"Shot Glass" has all the lyrical impact of the country classics, and Randall King has a voice worthy of stardom. PLEASE let him break out soon!!!! I hear Randall King's songs almost daily on the local stations around Austin and I think I'm literally falling in love with him lol . But yes, I do hope that he's able to find some mainstream success outside of the Lone Star State.

Alright, I'm going to work on posting April's list now right away. And I've just gotta say, it is EASILY one of my favorite months we have done so far! April was a very solid month in new releases!!!
Also, after y'all got done sending me requests, I literally had 48 songs to choose from, so... Keep that in mind. I did my best!!!! Songs from the last day of April will be put into the May rd instead :)

I wonder who requested Kidd G or if bboat11 just added him for funsies lol. Just had to Google him as I also have no clue. Considering that he's only 17, I can only assume he's from TikTok (which seems like my hunch is right lol).

And from what I have known, doesn't seem to be good. (Surprised Warren Zeiders (also from Tiktok) isn't featured in this rankdown series yet)

I definitely would have requested that one.

9. Don't really like the concept (sounds like a cliche and stereotype) and music (sleepy piano ballad).
8. Honestly was thrown off a bit by the usage of "slay" here. Nice vocals from both.
7. Aside from a few references (but I mean every black country artist talks about Charley Pride at some point, so it really isn't that interesting to begin with), this just sounds like radio fodder that lacks real emotional impact, especially due to the fact that Gang of Youths' album released just before this song deals with the loss of father a lot better, which makes this song pale in comparison). Comparing to his other materials though, it's probably better.
6. This could be even better if it was properly produced because the guitar and drum sound a muddy mess to me (whether listened from speaker or headphone). Decent song about a fictional happy place.
5. This should have been Carrie Underwood's lead single but she is currently in flashy pop era so...
4. Big Loud please promote her on country radio. She did improve by a lot sound wise in her new album, and while I saw some reviews calling this song too pop, it actually is quite instant to me and continued to grow every since. The fiddle is such an earworm.
3. The lame lyrics and the mismatch music style versus theme (almost sounds like celebratory), lol try again maybe.
2. Warner Nashville please promote him on country radio. He regressed a bit in his new album though. The EP tracks are far better (and why isn't Hey Moon in the new album?). Still the title track is an excellent George Strait-type song.
1. While this has pretty lazy lyrics it at least is good sound wise, even though it feels like a rehash of Keeper of the Flame.

Down Home is really good, the best single by him so far.
Happyland Trailer Park is also awesome, I think it was sent to the secondary radio market?
The Neon is not bad, but how did it made it to the list over other awesome songs from the spectacular album...? It's definitely on the lower end of the album.
As for next month, ew at Kidd G, I really hate everything he did so far. His voice sucks so much, the only country singer I know that I outright hate. Poor Danielle Ryan (or literary any other requests) failing to make it to the list... Other than that, excited to dive into 30 songs!

well I already see my #30 and some other questionable choices for the bottom but also some fantastic choices for higher up. Fairly certain I know what my #1 is going to be.

Glad MirLam came home with another victory. "Strange" is a boppity bop. That MELODY. It sounds like the "Bluebird" of Palomino to me and I need it to follow in its footsteps and be her next #1 smash! Excited for April's list as I agree with bboat11 that it's one of the most stacked months we've ever seen in this series. So many incredible songs.

After listening to April's playlist 3 times I have only one question. How do I fit 20 songs into the top 10?

For the most part, I’m very happy with this Top 10! It’s nice to see Dolly in there with “Demons,” and Elle King with “Out Yonder,” which I hope becomes another #1 hit single should they send it to radio. Glad to see Queen Carrie hit the Top 3 with “Ghost Story,” and not by the simple power of her name, as some have tried to allude to. It’s just a damn good song, which some great production. I’m glad bboat11 had taste too and put this at #1!!! I personally don’t think it made sense as a lead single especially given “Crazy Angels” being on the album as well, but she’s released FAR worse songs, as we all know lol. And that music video is FANTASTIC imo, especially visually. In fact, this whole Top 3 is just great. “Shot Glass” is a great new one from Randall King, and “Strange” is yet another certified smash from MirLam, which I have no doubt could possibly go #1 at radio. Glad to see it go #1 here!

I see Mr. W*llen has been forgiven; took longer than I expected. You can look to your best friend .indulgecountry for that one. I would very easily live my life without ever even thinking to check for new Morgan Wallen music, but then he's always up in my DMs like "This is great, you have to include him!" every time he so much as breathes onto a minor collaboration!

Not this exposure! First off, I send you like 20+ songs a month because I just accumulate all the new stuff I find so that nothing gets missed. 😂 But in all honesty, 2/3 his recent songs ("Don't Think Jesus" and "Thought You Should Know") are pretty solid and high-impact releases so they make sense to include.

Reminder time!!!! Thanks recordyear for doing that one the other day! We have NINE lists so far (the 10th one I mentioned a little bit ago was apparently Flops making requests for next month), which is still not a bad start! Can we get a few more though? It would be nice to get to about 15 or so
The deadline is FOUR DAYS AWAY (counting today), and since this is a monthly series I do not intend to extend! (Well, maybe just by a day or two, but only if absolutely necessary!) Participants so far:1. George Strait Junkie2. .indulgecountry3. tim4. zaclord 🌈5. recordyear6. taylor7. superdave35568. d3vin449. SHOOTER
