Recordyear is right that I need to get the October list posted!! I am SO sorry that it has taken so long  I keep waiting for life to get a little less crazy, but so far that has just been a pipe dream. Nevertheless, I am committed to keeping this series going (unlike that flop series that only lasted like six months for all the new pop releases!  ), so I definitely plan to recover from this setback in our schedule! Also, I just want to apologize in advance if I missed any major requests. As always, I did my best! But November has not been my most organized month, haha. And I'm sorry it's another 30-song month... The new releases really have not slowed down this year the way that they normally do!!! I'm going to try to make next month's Christmas rankdown quite a bit shorter, which I think should be doable because the Christmas releases have seemed rather light this year. And of course I will do the September reveals ASAP! Lemme get through Thanksgiving first, and then I'll knock it out pretty quick like I always do Feel free to get started on October in the meantime! I think 2 1/2 weeks should be realistic timeline, and then we can still fit in the shorter Christmas rd by the end of December! |

We kick off the SEPTEMBER reveals with the designated representee of LeAnn Rimes' long-awaited new album.....which...unfortunately did not end up being that big of a hit among us! Lol "god's work" ended up being a rather consistent last place contender, and even if it did not always hold the title, it was never able to mount much of a recovery.
I don't think this is terrible by any means, but I don't know why the heck LeAnn continues to insist on making her new music as unaccessible and "out-there" as humanly possible. She's basically just trying to out-obscure herself with every release at this point in her career.

For some reason "The Nicest Thing" really struck a chord with me. Maybe it was Jana's bikini on the single cover. But no, I'm not surprised to see this doing rather poorly. This is very pop-leaning compared to what we are used to from Jana, and not in an obvious "this is worth it anyway" kinda way like Miranda's "Drunk (And I Don't Wanna Go Home)". So while it connected with me for some odd reason, I'm not at all surprised to see it not connect with many.
Also, I'm not sure, but this is probably the first time the bottom 2 has been female artists?!?

Jana's new song was underwhelming, and I tend to love her more than most.
A bit shocked LeAnn got dead last. I figured "God's Work" wouldn't perform that well, but last place was not what I would've expected, lol.

"Midnight Crisis" ended up being one of the very rare songs that doesn't get a single rank in the top 15, making it our lowest standard deviation of the rankdown.
I think this is fine, albeit extremely forgettable. The only thing Jordan Davis did right with this song is putting Danielle Bradbery on it. Otherwise this could have easily been left on the cutting room floor.

"Midnight Crisis" is alright but it's a little snoozy. I am glad that Danielle Bradbery got a cut like this and I'd love for it to be a single for that reason, because Jordan Davis is on a roll right now and would surely get her her best charting single in a literal decade, lmao. That said, it doesn't work for me nearly as much as I wish it did. The lyrical twist on midlife crisis is more clever than the song they constructed around it.

I'm waiting for "Bury Me In Georgia" to be revealed already lol. I can't see that song doing well here at all. It's already done better than I expected, lol.

I really wanted to like "Music City's Killing Me" cuz I love Julie Roberts, but there was just nothing to this one. Some of the instrumentation has potential, but the overall melody is so weak.

Glad to see the review is here! "Midnight Crisis" was a surprise miss for me, I thought I would enjoy it more when its release was annouced, but ended up being quite boring. My lease fav song from Jordan in a while.
