Jon Stork's "Missing You Lately" is the next to bow out of the rankdown, and is tied with the next reveal in points, but loses because its highest rank was a #4 (courtesy of kw9461), while the upcoming song has a #2. bboat11 joined him in ranking this top 10, and the majority put this somewhere in their teens, though it did pick up a handful of bottom 5s, including a penultimate rank from George Strait Junkie. This song has an unassumingly soothing melody and vocal performance to it, though the production is admittedly a bit amateurish.

Winner of the tie-breaker is Morgan Wallen's "Spin You Around." This song is a revitalized rendition of something he recorded on his initial record label deal from before he made it big with Big Loud, and it was released due to a somewhat similar fashion to why Taylor Swift's been doing all her re-recordings. Morgan's not one of Pulse's most popular figures despite being the biggest country star on the planet rn, but he picked up a #2 from Kris Kringle and a pair of other top 10s from myself and zaclord 🌈. OTOH, it ended up with more lower-half ranks than anything, including castleoblivion26's last place.

MacKenzie Porter posted up a strong showing in the Nov/Dec rankdown, with a top 5 finish for "Bet You Break My Heart." She takes quite a bit of a tumble this month with "Easy to Miss," another pre-release cut from Nobody's Born with a Broken Heart, as she lands just shy of the top 15 this time. Five posters lose a top 5 rank here, while three lose a bottom 5 instead. This was a solid cut, but it just wasn't quite as distinctive as the prior song we ranked imo.

In back-to-back reveals, we say goodbye to another "MP" from the Canadian country scene. Meghan Patrick's "Other Side of 25" mirrored our last reveal with five top 10 placements, with two of them being top 5s (🌺CountryLineDancer and Darkest Hour), though it also had a pair of bottom 5s.

Missing You lately-- I thought this was kinda nice sad you've passed song. Glad things have picked up after Game of Thrones was over... (what? oh, nevermind)

Spin you Around-- This was alright. Quick story, Sammy Kershaw had a record out under similar circumstances when he was in his heyday, and some of my favorite Sammy songs are on that record.

Easy to Miss-- Thought this was ok, too.

Other Side of 25-- This was ok, got dinged over strong language. All right otherwise.

18: Actually had to revisit this one because I couldn't remember how it went. Pleasant enough, but "amateurish" is definitely an appropriate description.

17: Morgan's gravelly vocals with intimate production? Yeah, no.

16: This one hurt. I didn't participate in the previous rankdown, but "Bet You Break My Heart" would have been a top five easy favorite for me, for sure. This one just didn't have the same propulsive energy in the composition or hook, sadly.

15: Great message, but just kind of boring and generic in its production and sound for me to rank higher.

"Strangers", a collab between newcomers Kameron Marlowe and Ella Langley, is a classic-style country duet with a soaring vocal from both parties about a romance that leaves them unable to just forget one another. It lands squarely in the middle here as it received ranks all over the map, including bboat11's penultimate rank. OTOH, it did land in the top 6 for five posters, with zaclord 🌈's #3 its best showing. This hits radio soon as Kameron's relaunch single for radio, and a first taste for Ella.

Texas country spitfire Kylie Frey's latest barn burner, "Miss Thang," is the next to go, and with it falls Darkest Hour's #1, our second such loss of the rankdown thus far (and quite far removed from the early showing for 🌺CountryLineDancer's with the #22 reveal of Josh Ross). Kylie put up a decent showing with five additional top 10 ranks, though a lot of users slotted her in the teens, and a trio of bottom 5 ranks kept her top 10 hopes dashed.

Following a pair of #6 finishes in the last two sets ("Cowboy Back" and "Growin' Up Raising You"), Gabby Barrett takes a bit of a tumble this set as she doesn't even manage to reach top 10 with "You're My Texas," the final pre-release cut from Chapter & Verse. It's surely due to the strength of this month's song selections as the song is every bit as good and catchy as those two were! She picked up seven top 10 ranks, including a #1 from tim and #2 from myself. OTOH, three posters check off another bottom 5 from their list.

Corey Kent's "This Heart" is our final song to miss the top 10, coming up shy by a mere 3-point margin, a gap he closed in on as we crossed the finish line. Ultimately, he was left on the outside looking in with his latest radio effort, which picked up a pair of #2 ranks from LBTrocks and castleoblivion26, plus another four top 10s. The rest of the group placed this lower in the teens, except tim who dropped it into his bottom 5.

Scotty McCreery narrowly secured a top 10 finish with "Can't Pass the Bar" by a mere 3-point lead over Corey Kent. This song's hook is a classic country pun at its finest, but for me, the song feels a bit underwhelming -- there's just nothing about Scotty's performance that has the spark this needed and the production feels oddly muffled. I think this would've been a home run in the hands of a different artist, but as is, I was left wanting more. I was in the minority however, as it not only ranked in about half of our participant pool's top 10s, it even managed a double stack of #1s from bboat11 and castleoblivion26.
