Kind of a disappointing conclusion this month. I know Pulse stans for Sara (and I'm a huge fan of the music from her prime), but "Pride" just wasn't very good musically. Compelling story, but I just didn't enjoy listening to it all that much. I've liked most of Megan Moroney's output so far (and she put on a solid show when I saw her live), but she's getting a little overrated in these rankdowns. I'm usually a sucker for a piano ballad with a good melody, but "28th of June" is just soooo over-wrought that I couldn't put it in my top 10. I was rooting for "No Caller ID" to win in January because it's exceptional imo, but I wasn't exactly expecting "28th of June" to have a similar fate in this set tbh. But it was easily the least-polarizing track in the rankdown given that it won by nearly 30 points and the songs in the 2-7 positions were all only within 11 points of each other, meaning everything in that range was constantly flip-flopping as new lists came in. I mean, even you put Megan at #11 out of 30 tracks despite feeling this way about it, so lol.

How does Megan Moroney's country ballad sound like "Chinese pop music"? Just found the mostly piano-led melody to be similar to style of ballads in Chinese pop music, which I can say with authenticity because of my background. I know you would say "but all piano-led ballads sound similar anyway" which, eh whatever
