Terri has the perfect full-bodied brassy presence that is perfect for honky tonk style singing, but she has never had the best voice for soft stripped down songs imo. On top of that, her age has been starting to show up in her voice a little bit in recent years. The result: when this song started, I thought she sounded really rough :(

However, it picks up wonderfully once the chorus starts! The energy level picks up a bit and the full band comes in, and the song starts to have a nice build into that strong bridge, and Terri once again proves that she still knows how to shine!

I have gotten used to the vocals in the beginning now too after giving the whole song quite a few listens this month. I'm pleasantly surprised to see this make the top 10 here with relative ease!

Hopefullly this means Terri is working on new music, because she has always been one of the best albums artists in the business

Dustin Lynch enjoys what is probably the only top 10 finish he is ever going to have in one of these things! This is also the highest position MacKenzie Porter has ever gotten in this series as well (she previously made it to #12 last April with "These Days")

"Thinking 'Bout You" is one that has had a lot of Pulse Passion the past month, and even though Lauren Alaina got switched out in favor of Porter thanks to label stuff, it's nice that this song is getting a chance to be released to radio! I won't be shocked if this is Mackenzie Porter's first #1 on American country radio, similar to how Lindsay Ell got there a couple years ago on that collab with Brantley Gilbert.

I'm not a Dustin Lynch fan at all, but I've enjoyed this one pretty well so far!

On another note...some of y’all really must not have listened to “True Crime.” That is EASILY among the best things released this year, by FAR. It deserved much better than to plummet from the Top 5 area where it deserved to stay. Highly disappointed!!! Where’s Reba when you need her!!!

Like I said after the reveal, I think a big part of it is that she has just never had a very great voice for soft stripped songs. Like, have you heard "Good Mother" on her Fearless album? That's a perfect example, lmao. Or maybe even "Smile" on Roots & Wings.

There's no question that age is starting to show up in her voice, but I think in this case it is mostly the fact that she has always sounded a little off-putting on softer songs.

Guess we'll see when she puts out more new songs!

When I saw Candi Carpenter's name pop up in one of my New Releases playlists last month, I jumped at the opportunity to include her here!!! She really got a lot of our attention a few years back when she burst onto the scene with "Burn The Bed"! What an amazing song that was

And then what a bore this song turned out to be... I'm glad a few people seemed to enjoy it, but I personally find this to be one of the most forgettable songs in this entire playlist. It has a pleasant enough melody, but to me is a huge letdown after what I'm used to from her. Especially considering she snatched such a big-name collaborator!

How did "Thinking 'Bout You" make the top 10 here?! What a horrid song. I used to love Dustin Lynch, but can't stand him anymore. His music is awful.
