Estrelar sounded pretty good.
The music in Fantastic Man did better than the singing.
Dazz had some good vocals, but it repeated itself a bit much.
Message from the Stars was lifted by nice vocals.
Spacer Woman reminded me of early 1980s breakdance music.
The horns lifted Express Yourself.
The horns also lifted Theme from Shaft whose theme is iconic. Vocals could be better.
Baby Huey's vocals carried Hard Times.
Right Place, Wrong Time had some funk
Groove Me is a solid tune.
I'd Rather Be With You went up a bit due to smart use of its pillow talk (Bootsy can woo the ladies).

Already lost 3 of my top 5, cool. Messages from the Stars and Spacer Woman were both so cool and like, ahead of their time, really good discoveries. Hard Times was so I impressive too, I actually went through and listened to the entire Baby Huey album, I've seen that album cover before but never knew what it was for. It was a good listen, and there's something about it that I find so fascinating.

{IS ANYONE SURPRISED THAT I FELL ASLEEP...WORD WALL}#32: Like I said, there were no weak songs here. This was just my least favorite of a strong group. #31: The more this song went on, the more I liked it. I just haven't heard a lot of songs like it, especially with that production. #30: This was a lot of fun, so (wait for it)...yeah, tough rankdown. #29: Oh wow, this is significantly lower than I was expecting. #28: This, on the other hand, is about where I expected it to be. #27: "Dazz" may have been the first hit revealed, but this is the first of the "big" songs to be revealed, as far as I'm concerned. I feel like I've been around this song my entire life. #26: what...I was not expecting to get close to a perfecto here. #25: That's hard times, daddy. :( #24: Dr. John was severely overlooked. I don't think a lot of people realized just what we lost when he died. #23: Another monolith of a song that I've known pretty much my entire life, though not always by name. #22: It's Bootsy, baby.
I was expecting to have one of the worst closeness, and I have one of the top three, of course

Sorry to miss this. I have a new puppy and trying to juggle him with work. I'll try the next one maybe though. Thanks!

The Notorious B.I.G. - "Going Back to Cali" (1997) I knew there was a reason I did not like ranking this song so low.

I find it kind of hilarious that I don't REALLY care about this song, given that, without it, a Journey song doesn't exist, but I've always preferred Parliament to George's solo material.
(I did not treat another song that highly influenced a Journey song this poorly.)

This song is batshit insane, and I love it. I mean, the "I Wish" sample certainly does not hurt, but this song is fantastic with or without the connection.

Spinnin'Bernard Wright Notable Samples/Interpolations/CoversSkee-Lo - "I Wish" (1995) Ooh, I think I should have went higher on that song...because I really liked I Wish. ![:-X](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/lipssealed.png)

I think this song gets bogged down a bit by "early rap syndrome", but it still sounds pretty damn good, for sure.

Would have went higher on The Breaks if it weren't for Kurtis Blow's voice.
It reminded me of a pitch shifted Will Smith.

Supremely tough cut from my top ten. I was really torn between this and "Hard Times" right until the end. "Hard Times" just hit me more on a personal level, but this song moves.
