"Over Drinking" was much more radio friendly than this. Since it failed to have much of an impact at radio, I don't think this one has a chance. And another song about alcohol/drinking. A change of subject would help too.

This has an interesting sound, but I don't see country radio touching this. I wish them the best though!

I love this one too, but I think “Sugar Coat” was the right move here.
I don’t see this doing much, but I hope it does. It’s great.

I'm here for this cuz it's my favorite song on the album!!
However... I really wanted "Sugar Coat" next lol, Not that I think either one will do well for them, but I could see that potentially doing a bit better than this.

RIP "Sugar Coat" :/
I've said it before but "Over Drinking" being the most radio friendly and obvious hit of the record and still flopping has me incredibly skeptical that anything will work for them off this project, but I wish this one well. It sounds like it would be a helluva lot more polarizing and out there for country radio than the last single was, but it was referenced at one point that they had a nice sales spike for this one after performing it somewhere, so who knows.

I still don't see what was so radio friendly about "Over Drinking" but I imagine country radio is about ready to full on phase out Little Big Town, given the fact they haven't been in the Top 40 on country radio since early 2018 with "When Someone Stops Loving You" (I know "Summer Fever" peaked at #29 on Billboard but that was due to iHeartMedia debut and afterwards it never made it close to the peak).
I really wish the label or Little Big Town themselves did not opt to release "Happy People" as the followup to "Better Man" as I feel like that song looking back, looks to be the song that destroyed their momentum with country radio and I am afraid this time for good.

I still don't see what was so radio friendly about "Over Drinking" How? It's like the only song on the album that sounds like something country radio would've played, and was in the same wheelhouse as previous more uptempo hits of theirs right down to the drinking theme.

Besides the drinking aspect I didn't hear much sonically similar between "Over Drinking" and their drinking uptempo singles like "Day Drinking" and "Pontoon" as the former is more bluesy and mid tempo, where as the latter two are beachy tropical and in "Day Drinking" case whistling influenced.

“Over Drinking” was not instant. I liked it fine on first listen, but it didn’t really standout to me until several subsequent listens. I love it now, but still nowhere near my fav LBT tunes.
“Wine, Beer, Whiskey” was way more immediate for me and I still much prefer it.

I mean, I had to listen to it like 8 times before I could remember a single aspect of the melody, so... It never struck me as being that radio friendly. And I'm over here constantly having the I'm over drinking, over you hook pop into my head in the exact cadence as its used in the song because it is insanely memorable, lmao. Regardless though, it is still easily the song on the album that seemed like it was designed to be most palatable for country radio, while almost nothing else on the album is at all. "Wine, Beer, Whiskey" has a pretty off-the-wall sound to it, and then you've got a ton of mid-tempo or slower ballads to fill out the remainder of the record that would mostly not be suited for country radio for one reason or another. The one exception to that felt like "Sugar Coat" because it gives me a bit of that "Better Man"/"Girl Crush" vibe.

If it wasn’t going to be “Sugar Coat” this is the next one I would’ve chose. I’m still surprised “Over Drinking” didn’t do anything as I thought it was super radio friendly and was an instant earworm.
I also wish they had just released “The Daughters” last year, I think that could’ve done something too.

The whole group vocal performance kinda reminds me of Smokin' and Drinkin' although it's Miranda's. There's no much variety and dynamic which is risky for country radio but I looking forward to that

If "Over Drinking" did absolutely nothing for them as a lead single, they're likely done at radio completely. I'd be shocked if this charted. "Sugar Coat" is the best song on the album (and one of the best of their career) and there are plenty of better songs on the album than this, but they'd all be fairly risky (Next To You, Trouble With Forever, Questions) other than Nightfall, which I would have chosen over this for an uptempo. But at this stage of their career, you already have the album out, and the first single tanks, why would you play it safe with something mundane like this instead of something amazing like "Sugar Coat"?
Anyway, I love them, so I still like this a good bit, but it just feels a bit inauthentic coming from them and sticks out like a sore thumb on an incredible album.

Sounds more like Florida Georgia Line than Little Big Town. I never thought LBT was capable of sinking this low with juvenile lyrics such as:
My friend the Captain We call him Morgan
Really?!? If they added a truck and a "girl," this would be a leftover from the Bro Country era. A resounding disappointment from a group capable of so, so much better...even from the same album (e.g. "The Daughters").

I get that Miranda already has a song by the same title, but dang, why is Bluebird not the new single? Loved that CMT performance just now!

6th most added song with 23 adds. About what I was expecting since this group has pretty much no momentum with radio.

Heard this for the first time last week and really didn't like it, but I heard it again this week and it suddenly clicked with me. That mariachi trumpet hook is incredible.

Yeah...I agree that "Over Drinking" was completely radio friendly. If that didn't do anything, then radio has clearly had enough of them sadly. :/
I wish the song well (despite not liking it at all) but again I don't see it doing much of anything if it even charts.
"Sugar Coat" was right there 😡

I have fallen in love with this song now. So fun, and just nice to listen to. Wasn't big on it at first, but can't get enough of this.
I agree that it likely won't do much, but here's hoping. [insert wine, beer, whiskey emojis].

Wow @ this selling so well. Maybe radio will notice and it'll turn into a slow burn of a hit.

The performance was SO fun! Even better than the actual track. I wish this would catch on (or at least chart!). I still love it.
