Back to #1 on Urban. URBAN3 1 CHRIS BROWN X YOUNG THUG Go Crazy 5220 5018 202 29.556 The heck?!?! Hmm I wonder if this will break the “No Guidance” record. No Guidance spent 25 weeks at #1. It isn't breaking that record. Okay so I think we spoke too soon. Though I don't think it's gonna break the record but 20 weeks seems plausible now, which is already a massive achievement in itself.

Though I don't think it's gonna break the record but 20 weeks seems plausible now, which is already a massive achievement in itself. Yeah. On Pop radio, Go Crazy is definitely the bigger record between both songs, but spending more than 25 weeks at #1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart is insane. The record-holder before No Guidance was Miguel's Adorn (a timeless, classic R&B record imo) and it spent 23 weeks at #1. The most weeks spent at #1 after that? 15 weeks, so it's very hard to do. Go Crazy is a great record and it'll do really well. It'll chart longer on the Hot 100 than No Guidance did because it took way longer to first reach the top 10 and then later peak higher in the top 10 (No Guidance debuted in the top 10), but I don't see it spending as many weeks in the top 10 as No Guidance did (23). I may end up being wrong, but Go Crazy has now spent 5 weeks in the top 10. It'll need to spend 18 more weeks in the top 10 to match No Guidance and I simply don't see that happening. By the way, I'm happy for all the success Go Crazy is seeing. It's a really great summer record. It's a nice, easy-going bop and I'm always here for songs like that.

thegreatdivine Oh yeah I doubt it's gonna match "No Guidance"'s longevity in the Hot 100 top 10. And regarding its R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay record, I honestly think it's possible to at least surpass 20 weeks at #1. The list of records on Wikipedia is still not updated yet as "Go Crazy" now holds the third longest-running number one with 16 weeks at the top so far. 7 more weeks to match Miguel's record and by looking at the current Urban & UAC charts, I genuinely think it's not impossible. I know Billboard doesn't use Mediabase but anyways, judging by Mediabase numbers from yesterday: 1. Chris Brown & Young Thug, "Go Crazy" (29.556 + 15.106 = 44.662) 2. Drake, "Laugh Now, Cry Later" (feat. Lil Durk) (26.805 + 0.855 = 27.660) 3. Jhene Aiko, "B.S." (feat. H.E.R.) (24.413 + 1.954 = 26.367) A MASSIVE difference between him and Drake. Not to mention most of the other charting songs on Urban are Rap-leaning so they don't get played on UAC so we'll see in the upcoming weeks!

So this song shows that Blinding Lights is not this crazy different song, just that this is the new trend for the biggest hits today - they stay in the top ten about one year - which also means how fucked up is the music business today. Why is this mediocre song back at number one? Is it because there is no new music or because radio people are milking the whole year only one nipple of one holy cow...

23 weeks atop R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay. 2 weeks left to match "No Guidance"'s.

Well, who would have thought that he’d have two of the biggest hits of his career this late in his career, let alone in back to back years during a global pandemic?

My goodness, 25 weeks now!
Also I just realized "No Guidance"s record was 27 weeks, not 25.

OFFICIALLY TIES THE ALL-TIME RECORD FOR THE LONGEST-RUNNING NUMBER ONE ON R&B/HIP-HOP AIRPLAY WITH 27 WEEKS!
27 weeks Chris Brown - No Guidance (feat. Drake) Chris Brown & Young Thug - Go Crazy 23 weeks Miguel - Adorn
15 weeks Drake - Hotline Bling Mary J. Blige - Be Without You Ella Mai - Boo'd Up
14 weeks Mariah Carey - We Belong Together Jamie Foxx - Blame It (feat. T-Pain) Maxwell - Pretty Wings Drake - Hold On, We're Going Home (feat. Majid Jordan)
13 weeks Trey Songz - Can't Be Friends The Weeknd - Earned It Toni Braxton - You're Makin' Me High Ella Mai - Trip
To think that it could've had 33 weeks already if it hadn't been for Drake's 6-week interruption with "Laugh Now, Cry Later". :O

LOL, This is so crazy & ridiculous. Go to Billboard.com & look at Chris Brown's chart history. Looking back at all those hits/singles/features over the years, "Go Crazy" wouldn't even make my top 10 favorite CB song. I thought "No Guidance" was deserved of breaking the record, but "Go Crazy" isn't that great of a song that you would think of it as a GOAT Billboard Chart hit. I've seen folks on other forums suggest that the reason "Go Crazy" & The Weeknd's "Blinding Lights" dominated the charts in 2020-2021 in terms of longevity is because artists throughout the music industry weren't putting out music because of the pandemic. Do y'all agree with this?
