Ugh! "Underdog" again? 😵 jdelachjr2002 is not like this thing... Playing this Alicia Keys current song...like 7 times makes me dizzy.

Underdog is becoming Fetch Dog, as in "Stop trying to make Fetch happen. It's not gonna happen." It's currently hanging in at #42 at Mediabase, which is perhaps an impressive display of lingering for a former top 40 hit, but hasn't shown any sign of actually returning to the countdown. Still, it did previously return Alicia Keys to AT40 as a lead artist for the first time since 2013, and only the second time since 2008.

Similarly, "Stressed Out" as an extra reminds me of AT40 playing Twenty One Pilots' "My Blood" for about four or five weeks in a row as an extra when it never actually made the countdown chart--and there's no good reason why it didn't as it did get to about #29 at MB. Interestingly, last week's #27 debut of "Level of Concern" instantly made it 21P's biggest countdown hit since "Heathens", three and a half years ago.

Rightfully there should have been 7 breakouts as" If the world was ending" should have been a breakout. Personally I love hearing newer songs being played in Lieu of more old extras and honestly those breakouts technically should already be in the top 40 anyways according to other charts that I follow. Not sure what at40 is gonna do with Underdog typically it will give up on a song when it falls out of the mediabase top 50.Unfortunately because they started playing Underdog as soon as it started reclimbing mediabase top 50 (instead of waiting till the song gets into their top 35 or so like they typically do) and it still is slowly getting increased spins at what point do you cut the chord on it hitting .Due to the fact that their are 7 other songs that will most likely debut in the next two weeks I don't see underdog hitting the top 40 again.

I can see "Memories" probably dropping to 31 next week as the Jonas Brothers will most likely fall off the charts and they are going to want another 6 month or older song to play in the first hour of the show joining Selena ,Lizzo  and Shaed. I think at40 likes to have several "Familiar" songs in the first hour of the show fearing people may change the station with all the newer songs towards the bottom of the chart. The past few weeks they have been inserting very popular songs as extras in between all the newer songs as there has been a shortage on those older overplayed songs in the bottom ten. I would be very surprised though if "Memories " doesn't make an extremely slow exit out of the top 40.
