So neither Wednesday nor Thursday reveals happened and things were piled on me last minute yesterday. So one way or another, I'm knocking out 10 songs tonight and hope to pick up the speed here a bit. So let's get to it! I don't have much to say about #40. It's 19 points ahead of Betty Who and I expected it to finish relatively low. Preview for #40Points: 699 Highest Position: #30 Lowest Position: #45 Highest Rank: #4 Lowest Rank: #49

Yeah I didn't expect too much for this tbh. Honestly this has aged surprisingly well though, low key slaps.

Our #39 song finishes only 9 points ahead of Kesha and was originally looking like it would have a Bottom 10 finish.

Trilogy Unfortunately, the next song leaving us is the Céline Dion cover of “It’s All Coming Back To Me Now”, originally written by Jim Steinman. The song was made famous by Céline Dion and it’s really a gorgeous track. I like a lot of her music but this song always stood out as the most memorable to me. Her vocals are fantastic and the chorus gives me chills every time. It’s seven and a half minutes long and I love every second of it, from the way it opens up to the way it closes out. It is a perfect song in my eyes and one of my favorites of all time. This struggled a lot for the first half of the submission process, but it did eventually make its way out of the Bottom 10, which is nice. Four Top 10 ranks are lost here, as is Trilogy’s #50!

I love this for occasional listens, it opens up so dramatic Though this was a insanely strong list so my low rank is misleading in that regard lol

IACBTMN (jfc that acronym) is a bit too cheesy for my liking even if I somewhat appreciate the theatrics of it, but Take It Off is still a banger and deserved better >

I like a lot of what I’ve heard from Born To Die, but I really couldn't care less about Ultraviolence and Honeymoon. A lot of those songs bored me to death, which for a while was my main problem with Lana Del Rey. But “Born To Die” is one of my favorites from her. Nice instrumentals and her vocal style fits the mood of the song. And she does have a really nice voice. Interestingly while “It’s All Coming Back To Me Now” started out weak and slowly made its way up, “Born To Die” actually started kind of strong and eventually made its way into the 30s for the second half of the submission process with two last place ranks, hence why it has one of the highest standard deviations of the whole list.

Celine: This is a classic. I'm not a fan of diva ballads but this would be one of my favorites.
Lana: I love "Born To Die" and I'm honestly surprised it out this early. This song won her singles rd.

It was either this or “Suddenly I See” and I love both songs, but I have more memories attached to “Black Horse and the Cherry Tree”. This is one of those songs that I grew up with and the catchiness just made me love it instantly. The instrumentation is so good, the chorus is super catchy, and her vocals here are quite amazing. It’s a well-written track as well, but it did take a while for the lyrics to make sense to me haha. Back when I was kid, I used to think she was singing about a literal horse, so I didn’t really understand it. Obviously now I do. But it was just the catchiness and the woo-hoos that instantly caught my ear back then. Disappointing to see it out this early, especially with how well it was doing at the start, but I can’t really complain since I love the rest of the list as well. gotportugal loses his #50!

Sambalada 46. born 48. singingrulebritannia 48. samo🦕 The song that tied and beat “Love Is A Battlefield” is none other than “Pocketful Of Sunshine” by Natasha Bedingfield. I’m a fan of Natasha Bedingfield, even now when she’s not that relevant at all. Her 2000s singles like this, “Unwritten”, and “Love Like This” were all great though and I still revisit them every now and then. This was one of those songs that I would hear a lot but it took a while until I actually learned what it was called and who it was by. It has good verses and a really catchy chorus. She’s also a really good singer, which shows on both this and “Unwritten”. I initially thought this would finish lower than this, but it did actually spend a couple lists in the Top 20. Unfortunately more Top 10s, including two Top 5s, leave us here.
