Nina was out this week so obviously were her blunders:
1. Alan said Locomotion got things going for Kylie but that didn't chart until after countdown 'Lucky. 2. Alan called Make Me Lose Control artist Eric 'Hungry Heart' Carmen. OMG, Hungry Heart is the Bosser! 3. Alan said 'Sugar was stalled at #2 when the Def Leppard was really ^ 2-3

1. Nina called Bowie's album 'Last' Dance...OMG! 2. Alan's intro was inserted before the wrong song. He talked about #17 Human League when the countdown was really up to #18 Loverboy's 'Girls. 3. When listing all PR Nelson's 1999 three decades of rechartings, Alan omitted #40 in 1999 4. Alan said Irene was headed to the top but Flashdance had already had the #1 Feeling 5. WTH happened after the Friday PM airing? Coming outta Casey lite they spun Hollies, Sweet Dreams, and Take Me To Heart as the first three songs after having just played them in the countdown.

All three VJs are back this week and they are all contributing goofs:
1. In her weekly content screw up, Nina called Milli V's countdown song Baby Don't "Lose" My Number and Don Henley's The End of Innocence. Then she called Expose Producer Lewis 'Martinez', his name is Martinee'. 2. In their ever changing definition of a hit, Alan said If You Don't Know Me was the first for HM & TBN. They had previous Hot 100 entries. Then Mark said Ian Hunter had a marginal hit w/Twice Shy... it never cracked the H100. 3. In her weekly chart screw up, Nina dropped Paula Abdul three. Really ^ 9-13 for Cold Hearted. Then she rose Simply Red two, when 'By Now was drooping 10-6

It seems 1981 is always a burr in Casey lite's saddle:
1. In their ever changing definition of a hit, Mark said Balance almost had one...really almost two with Falling In Love an underrated mid charter 2. It took Nina almost an hour to appear but when she did it was strong with her weekly chart screw up placing "Don't Give Up" at #32, really #28 3. After a brutal version of Breakup Song in her weekly content screw up, Nina said this 8/15/81 chart was "12 days" after the Aug 1st launch of MTV. Then she said it was nine straight weeks at #1 for BDE, but that was interrupted by Stars On. 4. Alan Missed Again saying Collins countdown In the Air was his solo debut.

But wait there's more!
5. Mark peaked Bo Duke at country #5, really #4 for It's Now Or Never 6. In a double Alan error he ^ Pointers to #6 when Slow Hand was holding there. This was after he placed Ad Libs 'Boy in 1964, when it first charted a year later 7. Mark peaked Dr. Noah Drake at #1 the previous week, the week MTV launched. But Jessie's Girl reaching the top and the 8/1 start of MTV were actually two panels prior. 8. Nina introduced Endless Love as the #1 song for 8/12/81

And still more!!
For the Saturday AM airing, it started with just songs, no talk breaks or jingles up through #35. Then it restarted in the regular format. Casey lite's quality control budget must have been cut.
9. Alan claimed Slow Hand was released at the urging of Producer Richard Perry as a followup to the Bosser's Fire... Pointers had many other singles released between those two.

1. Alan called Cole's hit "I Live For Love". Then he said Jellybean was Sidewalk Talkin' in 1984, really 1985 2. Mark said Jam Tonight was written by the firm of Jackson and Jones...Did he get Freddie mixed up with Bad #10 countdown team of Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones?? 3. In her weekly chart screw up, Nina placed Jellybean at #3, really #33 4. Alan said Winwood was headed to #13. Steve had been High and was headed the other direction. 5. Alan said with countdown Don't Mean Nothing Marx set a milestone being the first artist w/four debut top threes. Richard set that record with 'Nights which was many singles after this one. 6. In their ever changing definition of a hit, Nina said Vonda Shepard is best known for her 1998 hit Searchin' My Soul. Best known as theme from Ally... maybe; hit... it never reached the Hot 100 7. After a countdown Shakedown, Bob was the first song 80s played coming outta Casey lite's Friday PM airing

1. Casey lite is Driving Me Crazy. Mark said 55 was Hagar's solo biggie but a #26 peak was much lower than a #13 prior entry and #23 Give To Live. 2. In her weekly content screw up Nina said countdown 'Side was Annie and Dave's 4th straight top tenner. Eurythmics career top tenner total is three 3. Mark said Steve's solo debut had 15 tracks. The real 1984 Street Talk total was ten. The rest are later reissue extras from various Perry projects 4. In their ever changing definition of a hit, Alan mentioned a couple by Peabo that never reached the Hot 100. Then Nina called his countdown song 'If You're Ever In My Arms Again' 5. In her weekly chart screw up Nina Bopped up four, really 9-15 for Cyndi 6. These errors are making me Cry as Alan said Prince was headed to #1. Doves was already there and was swooning in the other direction

1. Hold On, Alan misidentified Winning as Alex Ligerwood's biggest Santana song. The was after the display showed What's Forever For artist as MMM. He was still being billed as Michael Murphey at this point 2. In their ever changing definition of a hit Mark said at #23 countdown 'Hot performed okay for Idol but followup #36 White Wedding "blew up"?? 3. In her weekly chart screw up Nina doused 'Fire nine when REO was really dropping 18-7. The display showed Nina 1984 4. Alan dropped 'Lonely 19-9 when Motels were holding there

Mark Goodman said Love Walks In peaked at #4. It peaked at #22. Why Can't This Be Love peaked at #3. 1. Then in their ever changing definition of a hit Mark said #22 Dreams wasn't the biggie Van Hagar wanted so they released & got one with countdown Love Walks In, which peaked at exactly the same position. Then Can You Feel The inconsistency when Alan mentioned a tepid peaking 'Beat among LL & CJ's hits. 2. In her weekly chart screw up Nina dropped Loverboy five when it was really ^ that amount 3. Alan said Run DMC would 'Walk a "couple" spots higher than Aerosmith's #10 original. The 86 version topped off at #4. 4. In her weekly content screw up Nina said this countdown features Winwood's career biggie. Of course he would 'Roll much Higher in 1988 with one of the biggest hits of the 80s.

1. Nina opened up by calling Elt's song Sartorial "Elegance"...OMG! 2. Mark called Liv Taylor's top 40 I'll Be In Love With You. Then in their ever changing definition of a hit he counted I'll Come Running which barely scrapped the bottom of the charts as one of Liv's hits. 3. Alan called 'Fool artists the Larsen "Fightin" Band 4. Mark said Xanadu contained 2 US and UK number #1s, Magic and the title track climbing toward the top. While they reached the UK summit ONJ and ELO would only get to #8 on the Hot 100. Then Alan omitted ELO altogether, mentioning only ONJ in his outro of Xanadu.

To clarify on #4 above, Mark said the Xanadu soundtrack produced two #1 songs in both the US and UK.
In the US, only "Magic" hit #1. "Xanadu" hit #8.
In the UK it's reversed. "Xanadu" hit #1. "Magic" hit #32.

After a badly needed week off we're back to look at 1981:
1. What kinda version of Breakup Song? Ouch. It's not the hit. Then, OMG, they played the studio version of Say Goodbye to Hollywood from 1976! 2. Mark peaked 'Everything at #1, really #8 for Dr. Noah Drake. Then he said Balance would never return to the charts but they were soon Falling with a near top 40 miss 3. In her weekly content screwup, Nina called Arthur's Theme... The Best You Can Be 4. 1n their ever changing definition of a hit Alan said peaking #20 In Your Letter was one of REO's biggest??

Alan peaked Never Surrender at #1, really number three for Corey Hart. 3. Nina said Live! was from the guys Sept 1985 concert. H&O appeared with David and Eddie at the Apollo July 1985. 4. Nina hit the trifecta! She slipped Loverboy four, really they were Lovin' Every Minute of the climb, 15-19; she moved Wham ^ five when they were Freedom falling 14-7 and held Phil at #16 when his Number was eleven the prior week. 5. Alan said Fortress was the 3rd Stinger solo 'Turtle single, really the 2nd. 6. Alan said countdown Saving All My Love was Houston's "breakthrough' hit? You Give Good Love??

It took several talk breaks for the interns to send Alan & Mark the memo that Nina was out this week.
1. Alan said Sweet Dreams was the year before countdown 'Stranger... wrong, just a few months prior. Then he Said Said Said the countdown song was pre-Thriller? I think he meant to Say Say Say it was recorded before Thriller it was definitely not released before it. 2. Mark called Men At Work's countdown song Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Jive 3. Mark said Bolton would place 'Live Without You on 1990s Soul Provider. Album came out Summer 89, single charted in Fall. It would reach #1 in 1990. 4. Quiet Riot's 'Noise was displayed as '84. Then they had the Business As Usual album cover when MAWs countdown song was from Cargo.

On the Monday AM airing it is songs only, in alphabetical, not numeric order, with no intro by the VJs?? Just as Casey envisioned in 1970....

Let's see how 1980 is going:
1. In her weekly content screw up Nina called Cara's countdown song Out There On My Own 2. Mark said Willie was On the Road Again to his 9th Country #1, really his 6th 3. They are playing the 75/77 (Alan said 1976) studio version of Dreamer, not the live hit. 4. OMG! Nina's intro for #6 Lady was inserted in front of #18 Late In the Evening. Then in her weekly chart screw up she ^ Kenny nine really 6-17

It's the "10/31/86" chart, according to Nina, and apparently no Mark Goofman tonight.
1. Alan's intro went from #37 to #35 skipping #36 Bangles 2. Alan placed Idol's 'Lover in 1985 and Bell's 'Lover in 1968 (charted 1969) 3. Alan again claimed this was the 10/31/86 chart, then, OMG, he said Steinberg and Kelly had previously written for Lauper but she didn't Drive All Night and get Unconditional Love until 1989!!

1. Mark included Rachel Sweet as a Shadows co-writer, sorry, she wasn't unless her pen name was DL Byron. Then he peaked Benatar at #15, really #13. 2. In her weekly content screw up Nina said ABCs album had three top 40s, with countdown Look of Love being the 3rd single. It was the first of two Lexicon top 40s 3. Mark gave Survivor an American Chartbeat for 17 weeks, really 16 4. Nina served Champagne with Love Come Down but at this point the bubbly bottle had gone dry as she was being billed as just Evelyn King. 5. Mark said America's last top 40 was 1979, really 1976

Let's review 11/21/87:
1. Nina started the show saying this was 11/20/87 chart and #40 Casanova was #4?! 2. Hide the Women so they don't have to hear Alan make the false claim Animal was the first single off of Def Leppard's album! 3. Nina said Johnnie Ray had his Mind Set On You?? OMG, it was written by James Ray 4. In her weekly chart screw up Nina dropped 'Sin four, really 15-9 for PSB. This is after Alan said Jets were inching up. In my Casey voice.... Jets are leaping eight notches 29-37 this week with I Do You 5. Alan included Bobbie Gentry as an I Think I'm A Clone Now co-writer?? I think he meant Shondell's writer Bo Gentry... OMG!!

Is this week's bonus 11/28/81 gravy or a turkey??
1. Mark said Smoky Mountain Rain peaked in the top 20 (really #24) and began pop crossover success for Milsap. But Ronnie had already had a #16 pop 'Song in 1977. 2. The display for Steal the Night read "Steve" Woods (82) 3. Nina said it was the 11/27/81 chart. Then in their ever changing definition of hit, Alan said Oh No was the final w/ Lionel. Why You Wanna Try Me was a mid charter. Then he said Commodores album included Lady? It was Lady (You Bring Me Up). The prior was Lionel's hit w/Gambler a year before. 4. Alan peaked L&L at #9, really #6 for the other Stevie and Don 5. Mark placed Rockford Files in 1976, it really Posted in 75 for Mike 6. Mark said H&O were bumped from the top but the guys were a couple "weeks" away from returning the favor. Long couple weeks, try 1/30/82 7. Alan said the Foreigner was Phyicalled out of the top by ONJ and the guy's 'Eyes. I Can't Go For That! 8. In her weekly content screw up Nina called 75s J Geils song Must Have Been Lost

Did this 12/2/89 panel go smoothly or did the VJs slog along?
1. Holy bleep what was wrong w/ Prince and Sheena's 'Arms? It sounded like a wrapped cassette copy. 2. In her weekly content screw up Nina said 'Mind was a stand alone single by the New Kids. It was actually the flip of Hangin' Tough 3. Listen to Her Heart? Then Mark compounded his misstep when he said it was the 2nd single from Roxette's album. It was the 3rd top 40 from Look Sharp 4. Mark and Alan both referred to this week as the 12/1/89 chart. Then the display for Kix read 88? 5. Mark called it Pump Up The Jams

1. Nina correctly pointed out Ride Sally Ride went into space during the countdown year 1983, She wrongly used this tidbit during other years in the past. Unfortunately it didn't keep her from calling him JM. At this point he was still being billed as John Cougar Mellencamp. 2. In her weekly chart screw up Nina ^ Debarge eight, really 26-33 then she placed H&S at #18, really #15 for Huey Lewis 3. Alan said countdown album was the 80s first for Yes. But they'd already had several releases in that decade including studio Drama
