That doesn't mean anything right now. Brett Young was at #1 last Monday but finished the week at #2. Yes Gabby is #1 right now but Chris Stapleton isn't that far behind her and he's pushing for #1 this week. I think that Chris will be at #1 by Sunday. Gabby will most likely be #1 on BB and stay there for 2 weeks.

If Stapleton is going to pass this one he truly has an uphill battle ahead of him. He’s over 800 spins behind this; so unless this one absolutely stops gaining I don’t see him being able to make up the difference.

I am ALL for this being a 2-week #1. She deserved it with "I Hope", too (or even 3 weeks).
Two back to back smashes that both streamed phenomenally, too. We're looking at the future of our genre here.

I'll wait to see how her second album does before saying things like "the future of our genre" haha I've seen way too many come in hot and burn out quick (Gretchen Wilson / Hunter Hayes) or walk away from a great start (Cyndi Thomson). If her sophomore album does well too then I'd be comfortable saying she'll stick around. Still a very strong start so it is encouraging.

What makes me specifically confident here is the streaming (which wasn't a metric in Hayes' day) and the crossover success we've already seen and I assume will see again with this song. I could be totally wrong and she could fizzle out, it just is hard to imagine right now.

But Hunter did have crossover success and I do think if Streaming had been a bigger factor he'd have been someone who would've had good numbers there. I brought up Cyndi because I could totally see Gabby dropping her career to become a full time mother/wife, she feels like someone who might do that so I wouldn't be shocked.

A few days passed and what do we think now? Could she get the #1 with "The Good Ones" or not?
I think she may get the Billboard Country Airplay #1 cause Chris is still way behind her and she may be #1 on Mediabase tomorrow or friday but may lose the official Mediabase #1 on sunday.
I think she may get a chance next week too but that's probably her last chance since Dustin may push his song in two weeks (since he's hosting the Hot Country Countdown USA).

I think Stapleton will probably get Mediabase and Gabby will take Billboard for 2 weeks most likely. I knew they were pushing this week, but wow I didn’t know they were pushing like this. I suspected he’d get +100 to + 150 spins each day, but they’ve been around +250 each day (which is a lot more than songs usually gain during push week.) Meanwhile, Gabby’s song went from having updates in the +50 to +100 range to today losing spins (which is kind of obvious what’s going on.) He’ll probably get #1 late in the week on Saturday or Sunday when he finally catches her. Hope she can pull a multi week on Billboard because her song is a massive hit and deserves it.

Same, today's update was definitely a wake up call. Didn't expect him to catch up so much considering how poorly his song has been performing for weeks now. It's so weird how on tuesday it seemed Gabby had a good chance to get #1 since she was still getting huge spins increase but all of sudden, when she becomes a threat, she's losing spins for once and Chris is getting an unusual HUGE spins increase (i think we definitely know indeed what's going on behind the scenes). I also think she may get two weeks at #1 on Billboard which would be a great achievement. Now hoping for a official Mediabase #1 next week to make it perfect.

Her push week is next week, so if Chris manages to pass her for this week on Mediabase she’ll for sure be #1 next week. Two weeks #1 on Billboard seems likely at this point.

I suspect she’ll perform “The Good Ones” on the ACMs. I don’t really want another “I Hope” performance. Also cool to note she moved to #1 on the mediabase building chart today. Will probably be dethroned later in the week by Stapleton, but cool to point out. She’ll get her #1 on mediabase next week.

Yes, she's probably gonna perform "The Good Ones", which would fit perfectly cause the "ACM Awards" are on april 18th and she should be officially #1 on Mediabase on april 18th too. So probably, one last performance, before moving on to another single, unless they are planning on creating a "I Hope" 2.0 and push that song to other radio formats.

I will say I think Gabby is farther in her career than any of the other newer females were when they were only on single 2. It took Maren one year for Hero to get to gold and Kelsea about a year and a half for The First Time to reach gold. It only took Gabby 10 months for Goldmine to reach gold. That’s wild.

^ Yes, that's some pretty impressive numbers for a newcomer, especially a new female country artist. Can't wait for this whole pandemic to be over so she can tour and do more performances.

The power of a massive hit with a decent follow-up and coming off of Idol too.

Out of all the new females that have emerged the last few years, I have never got how Gabby Barrett has sold and connected so well as I just don't hear the appeal in her voice or music and believe me I have tried. I get she was on American Idol, and all that but out of all the women in country music she ranks pretty damn low for me and it annoys me that more women that I find more talented and like more aren't connecting as well.
Good for her for being so successful out of the gate and I do like there is another women that is quickly joining the ranks of Carly Pearce, Maren Morris, and Kelsea Ballerini. I just wish it was most other females in that slot if there could only be one.

I just wish it was most other females in that slot if there could only be one. She has a very unique tone and sound to her voice. Found a unique sound to her music that is different then you normally hear on country radio. Plus she is really good at telling a story and selling a song. Suprisingly even at her young age. Add that to having a fanbase that was already built in too. She ended up on a label where they wanted her really bad. Kept calling until she could not say no. Ended up being a good writer with good songs also. Add all that up and it’s easy to see why she had success with the first two singles. Releasing I hope and good success streaming in her own set her up really well.

I do wish Lauren Alaina would start to see success because she is long overdue; and I actually prefer her voice to Gabby’s. However just seeing how Gabby absolutely hustled after idol to get any momentum she could earned my respect. A lot of people think idol = real success in the music business when it’s not. Heck the actual winner of her season (Maddie Poppe) has already been dropped by her idol record deal due to them not being able to gain a lot of interest in her. After idol no labels would even give Gabby the time of day until she self released “I Hope.”

She had to make herself successful by creating "I Hope", having a good reception with that single and a label finally willing to bank on her.

Yes! Love it. Also came here to point out that this is currently sitting at #3 all genre on iTunes. If they are not considering to push this to other formats they are absolutely crazy.

Oh thank God this hit #1 on BB. I was going to be really disappointed if we missed out on the opportunity to see a huge smash from a female country star get a rare multi-week #1 on country radio in favor of Crappleton thanks to his ridiculously large last-ditch push to the top on MB.

I'm so happy for Gabby. The song is probably gonna peak this peak on country radio, but the song is at its highest on iTunes, so it is far from done, hope Warner sees it too and send the song to pop/ac/hac cause it could easily be another "I Hope" or at least something close to it.

I do hope they push this to CHR and HAC (honestly, they should have a few weeks ago), but please God don't give it an awful remix that ruins the song like they did with "I Hope"... I honestly don't even think this needs a Pop Mix where they change the instrumentals. Send it as is yesterday and get Gabby another crossover hit.
