I was excited for the remix but I didn't like it... The autotune on Shania's solo parts is so weird. Just listened and what the heck. Shania’s parts are awful ☹️ Who produced this....

I was excited about Shania being on the remix, but sadly, she doesn't really add to the song and I'm probably gonna find myself just sticking to the original. Her voice admittedly just isn't what it used to be thanks to the Lyme disease, but I've heard her sound better in recent times than she sounded during her part on this. I'd love for her to get another hit again somehow whether it be her own song or a feature, but this just isn't it for me. :(

Well, looks like I'm in the minority. I don't hear anything wrong with Shania's voice, and I don't really hear any autotune either. Shania's never needed that, even with her diminished voice. She didn't add too much to the song itself but she still added her own flair imo. Loved this remix and I hope it gets sent to radio, because I want to hear Shania on my station again.

I am thrilled for Shania. She sounds as good as she has since probably "Endless Love" or "White Christmas." But I agree - who produced this? Why is it so loud and busy?

The remix with Shania was sent to country radio this morning. It's just another option for stations if they choose to play it but it doesn't appear the remix will replace the original version, which by the way, is doing just fine on its own and I'm expecting it to reach #1 by early next year.

I hear the diminished sounds of her voice and the very apparent autotune but I still really like the remix. The song fits Shania and honestly I just miss hearing her so I was always going to be easy to please.
I do wish they toned down the production slightly to allow us to hear them together better but it is what it is.
I still would love to see her get credit for it on the charts but I know that’s maybe not likely.

Mediabase callout scores are in for "Hole In The Bottle" and it is not good as the callout scores have Kelsea Ballerini with the second lowest positive score, second lowest favorite score, highest negative score (and the only one to have a negative score over 20), lowest Net Positive score, and the third highest Heavy Burn rate. Fingers crossed the callout gets better, but I am not too shocked the callout is bad since this is a solo female song and whenever the charts have had slow weeks the past couple of months (last week, the week when this, Jon Pardi, and Parker McCollum lost their bullet on Billboard) this song really slowed down gain wise.

I’m curious where this one is going to peak. The callouts aren’t the best for it as it has over a 20% negative rate as well as a pretty large burn rate. Hope it can at least manage a top 5 peak if not #1. I could see Luke’s song blocking this from #1 potentially since he usually spends multiple weeks at #1.

I’m not always a Kelsea fan, but this one is a jam. I know call outs don’t look great, but really hoping it can hit #1 anyways

I think this song can go the distance. It is streaming well and there's buzz around the Shania remix that I could see stations randomly throwing a play or two at as well. I do think radio wants to bring Kelsea to the top again they've just been (rightfully) picky recently with her material - this is a song they gravitated to early on and unless the callouts become HORRIBLE... it should make it or maybe miss #1 BB.

I think this can hit #1 but it is far from a lock for #1. Mainly due to the callout scores being right on the edge of making this song stall out (over 20% Negative score) and this song charting near a Luke Combs single which could be disastrous as I can easily see if Sony wants multiple weeks for "Better Together" I can easily see country radio obliging and this song would probably be the one to settle for a Mediabase only #1.
I do hope this can hit #1 but I do think some things are definitely going against it as we enter the home stretch of this songs chart run.

Only her second #1 in Canada (after "Miss Me More"), and officially her biggest hit up there, too!
Hopefully it's a #1 down here soon as well.

Forgot to post this here, but a couple of days ago Kelsea was on her Instagram stories answering some fan questions, and was asked to post a picture of her last writing session. She obliged and posted one on her front porch with the date April 19th in the picture. Might be an Easter egg of some sort for new music or a new single. April 19th is a Monday so it could be an impact date. Just thought I’d share.

I hadn't really considered it, but it honestly wouldn't surprise me at all to see them strike with new music after this peaks. There's some viable options for another single on her current album, but moving onto new music faster would probably be a good idea for her career to keep things fresh and capitalize on her momentum with "Hole in the Bottle."

I mean I guess they could go for new music but damn it would be a shame if Half Of My Hometown" was never released, that and the album wasn't even released a year ago. Hopefully they do one more single and then new music

I'm not too convinced they're going to move on right after this peaks. Kelsea has repeatedly said (or alluded) that Half of My Hometown would be released as the next single...
But it is possible that it's an Easter egg.

While I’m always down for new music and sure she probably has enough songs written for another album, I do hope she tries to milk this one for one last single. “Half of my hometown” helps expand her artistry and i fully think it could be a moment for her. Would absolutely hate to see a song with such hit potential, and the ability to help her career reach new heights be left on the table. This is how I felt when Carly opted in new music rather than releasing IWABLT (she had much different reasoning though, but still.) Who knows it could be the impact date for “half of my hometown.”

I think we are going to see a lot of artists release new music in Q1/Q2. The pandemic gave them all free time to just write and write - so many probably had plans to release more singles but will move on this year because of the unpredictable circumstances that happened. I also wanted to see HOMH as a single but I’m down for something new too.

Agreed that it is probably new music even though there is still the obvious HOMT. Not only are artists writing a ton but listeners are consuming a ton as well. Taylor Swift is leading the way on putting out new stuff just for fun even if there's other material left to promote. Strike the match while it's hot. Definitely a streaming vs. radio approach.

If it's indeed new music, and the Monday is April 19, I'd fully expect it to be the lead to KB4 with its release date being the Friday before, April 16. "Half of My Hometown" is a wonderful song but it honestly would make absolute sense to move on to a new album while the iron is hot.

"Hole In The Bottle" moves up 2 spots on Mediabase to #5 becoming Kelsea Ballerini's 7th Top 5 single on country radio gaining 211 spins and 1298k in audience. I would expect this song to hit #1 once Luke Combs/Kenny Chesney clear out.
I also would not be shocked of this finds a way to be her second highest charting singe on the Hot 100 ("Peter Pan" is still the highest) as this is projected to land in the mid 40s to low 50 range of the Hot 100 and this has a good 4 weeks at least of climbing.
