I could totally see this being a hint… She posted a couple videos to her IG story the other day about hatching chicks. Maybe there's something here or maybe we're desperate

A bunch of new Josh Miller co-writes appeared on ASCAP.

I definitely thought “I don’t need wings to fly” was a hint. I would imagine “soon” may be sooner rather than later

With how much of a planner Carrie is, I could see them giving another easter push for My Savior (as they did My Gift last December but on a smaller scale) and then dropping the first single shortly after Easter in late April/May. But, realistically, I think she may want to wait until she finishes her Vegas run. She seems to like to close one chapter before officially starting another. I hope she continues to play week-long runs in Vegas intermittently over the next couple of years so I may have a chance to make it there. Time will tell, but I hope soon means sooner rather than later. Ready for some new original Carrie music.

IIDLY jumped to #4 on itunes after the performance. If the song gets second wind on radio (either pop or HAC), we might see a few more performances of the song on award shows

Even Carrie has got to be thinking they have done the song plenty by now. Besides, jason has a new single out now so i’m sure he wants to promote that at the CMT’s. I am kinda annoyed how close together these shows are. ACM’s March 7, CMT’s April 11. And was supposed to be the 3rd. Plus the grammys, iheart, and billboard awards are all in the coming weeks as well.
She’s GOT to have something new soon. Not sure how many of these shows she is doing but i think its inevitable the CMTs are about as close to 100% sure thing as you can get that she will perform.

Maybe minor hot ac but I wouldn’t count on it. It isn’t as non country friendly as her other songs that have crossed over (in my opinion)

Was that her first Single win from the ACMs/CMTs since the debut era?!

Was that her first Single win from the ACMs/CMTs since the debut era?! Yep; in fact it's her first Single win...since her first single, JTTW. BHC is the only other song to have been nominated for Single.

BHC is the only other song to have been nominated for Single. I wrote CMTs but meant CMAs. Didn't "BHC" win Single at one of them and would technically be her more recent one until now? Either way it's since her debut era.

Yes. Her last Single Of The Year win was at the 41st CMA Awards. Still baffled at how Blown Away and Cry Pretty (the songs) were snubbed in those categories…like what?! Also what are the chances Greg Kurstin is Co-Producing this new album?…that could be really cool!

It is wild she hadn't even been nominated for Single at either show between "BHC" and "IIDLY" ("Cowboy Casanova" got an ACM Song nod, though, which is random).

Carrie as an artist has been plenty decorated, but the music itself has struggled to even be nominated. Most of her albums have been nominated in the “Album” field, but aside from random “Event” or “Video” noms, this was Carrie’s first Single/Song nomination or win since her debut era (I think). Kind of insane when you think about all the huge hits she has had… I was positive SITW would receive love, and I think BA the song got snubbed across the board as well. I would love an era in which her songs get recognized, maybe CU7!

I don’t think Greg Kurstin is someone who just schedules co-writing sessions. From what I’ve seen, he’s usually involved in the production process to some extent.
I hope there are multiple producers. I think that benefitted Storyteller a lot.

I’m still thinking we get something new this Spring…
Carrie is a planner, we know that. I’d hope she plans for maximum exposure when it’s available. She’s been quoted before saying she says “yes” to everything she can, and we know the CMTs and Grammys will likely invite Carrie to be a part of their shows for reasons we all already know. So, it would make sense to me for Carrie to have a lead single recorded and ready in time to debut it at one of these events. She said “soon”, sometimes that’s months but sometimes that’s weeks in Carrie’s world. She’s registering all these co-writes, and one implication could be that these aren’t the chosen songs, and that they’re getting close to finalizing the track list. I’m getting into hypotheticals… anyway, she could totally leave us parched through the summer, but things seem a bit active and overdue, I guess, for “soon” to mean that long, imo.
ETA: SEE!!

“I did a thing.” To me implies some sort of special project. But she’s done so many of those the past few years… Idk but I’m hoping it is indeed the lead to CU7. Maybe she’ll have more to say tomorrow, the holy day of her birth.
