is Chicago Freestyle being pushed on radio? looks like its getting a lil single treatment on spotify and am Nope, still not charting at Urban or going for adds. The song is holding up so great. Not even viral or anything.

Why did The Monster drop off so quickly. It was in the Top 10 for 13 weeks and then left at week 15? What happened? The Monster spent 29 weeks on chart, not sure what you mean? In its 14th week (Grammy's week), Monster fell from #5 to #12. Streaming: #11 (-1) Digital: #19 (-7) Radio: #4 (-1) Oh, combination of misreading your tweet and misinformation. I thought what you meant was Godzila spent 20 weeks and was his biggest hit since The Monster which didn't get 20 weeks. And I went to look for The Monster's chart history and accidentally pulled up it's weeks for a different chart, not The Hot 100, my bad!

Chicago Freestyle deserves a radio push! I don't see why they couldn't do it, especially if his new album isn't ready for summer release.

That might be one of the reasons why it isn't getting a radio push. I think the rollout will be different from Scorpion...definitely not as prolonged. That's why I can't see him releasing a lead single this summer unless he plans to quickly follow it up with an album.

Personally, I don't think now is a good time to drop new music but every artist won't just halt their plans to drop new music. I expect music drops to resume as early as this Friday.

Also, I was wondering if Falling has a serious chance of peaking in the Top 10? Idk much about radio, so I don’t know when it’ll peak, but it still seems to be making decent gains and is pretty stable on streaming.

How do you think the Black Rock/Indie/Alternative or Folk/Country artists (Male or Female) feel? They are CONSTANTLY fighting for representation for the music they make as non-R&B/Soul/Hip-Hop based ‘Black’ artists and rarely garner any success, and haven’t done since the 1990’s. Why? Record labels aren’t sure of where to place or categorise them, because... 1) They don’t want them to alienate a possible ‘Black’ fanbase. 2) They want them to be embraced by Black radio and mostly Urban-oriented radio stations should they not be embraced by a White audience. It’s so increasingly difficult for Black musicians the world over. White artists have no problem being stylistically/artistically versatile and being played wherever and by whomever; their is no “marketing conflict” with them. They could be a Hip-Hop artist who releases a Pop/Dance adjacent song and are wilfully embraced by Pop radio; they could be a R&B or Soul artist and are wilfully embraced by Adult-Pop/Adult-Contemporary radio. There is a reason why John Legend’s “All Of Me” was/is the most successful ballad by a Black, Male, non-Hip Hop artist in almost twenty years. It’s not spoken about as much but there is a colossal problem with White A&R executives/based labels who refuse to sign Black artists who don’t fit the stereotypical mold of what they think a Black artist should be and IT NEEDS TO CHANGE! I see what you're saying and definitely agree for the most part, however I don't think it's a simple Black/White issue and it's definitely not a one-way street. The issue of race/ethnicity as it relates to categorization and marketing in the music industry can be a problem for all musicians. Yes, African Americans will struggle if they wish to be successful outside of their traditional genres, but let's not pretend that the reverse is also true, that if you are white (as well as other non-African American ethnicities, such as Asian or Latino) and you wish to be a successful R&B or Hip-Hop artist, you face challenges as well. This is especially true when it comes to getting played by urban radio, and to some extent and depending on the time, rhythmic as well. These are major radio formats, so it's potentially a lot of exposure to be missed out on, and I don't really think it's the case that they (or any R&B artist whatever their race for that matter) would otherwise be played by Adult-Pop/Adult-Contemporary radio.

I think it'll be another hot girl bummer situation, I see it peaking around 11-13, Top 10 maybe.

Since there are no huge releases this week, I hope this means One Night Standards can finally debut. It's #4 on the Bubbling Under charts and I hope it becomes a big country hit.

My prediction tells me that Rain On Me won't stabilize. Radio is increasing, but the streams and sales drop is just to big to hold up. Also very boring week we are looking at here.

^^ I definitely can see Blinding Lights in 14+ weeks at #1 company. 18 weeks
Goo Goo Dolls "Iris" (1998) 16 weeks
No Doubt "Don't Speak" (1996/97) Mariah Carey "We Belong Together" (2005) Maroon 5 featuring Cardi B "Girls Like You" (2018) 14 weeks
Céline Dion "Because You Loved Me" (1996) Alicia Keys "No One" (2007/08) Panic! at the Disco "High Hopes" (2018/19) It's still crazy for me that an Alternative/Rock band like Panic! At The Disco would have a song that huge in the Radio charts. Don't get me wrong, it's apparent that I love "High Hopes" with a burning passion, but to see it be on an elite group of songs that had 14+ weeks at the top is weird but awesome.

My prediction tells me that Rain On Me won't stabilize. Radio is increasing, but the streams and sales drop is just to big to hold up. Not sure where you're getting that from. It's currently #1 on iTunes, #20 on Apple Music, #9 on Spotify, #10 on Deezer, and #6 on Amazon. Sales are literally steady at #1 and its streaming, while naturally decreasing from release week, is relatively stable.
