Number Four is the last of three new song recorded for Kylie's first Greatest Hits package. The compilation was her last release before being freed from her PWL recording contract. The other two tracks, "Celebration" and "What Kind of Fool" were singles, but this was not. What do you think? Should this have taken one of those spots or also been released? 4. Kicking off our Top 3 is track no one knew existed until Mushroom Records released Greatest Remix Hits Vol 4 in Australia in 1998. This song was the only completed track from the Rhythm of Love sessions that did not make the cut for the album. I can see why as the sound and production doesn't mesh with the feel of the rest of the album. Still, it's a fun early 90s house number, if a little generic. 3. These last two do not surprise me. Despite a last minute tanking of the #1, it still held off all of the competition (sorry HolidayGuy). Both of these songs were originally white label releases in the UK under the pseudonym Angel K. Kylie wanted to break into the more posh and sophisticated club scene instead of being seen as a bubblegum teen pop star heartthrob. Therefore, both of these songs were issued as such and began breaking her sound into that sphere, which she continued by going indie with the Deconstruction label in 1993. A fitting end and transition to the 2nd half of this set!

No worries, bat. :) The top two indeed stand out from the other tracks.

So bizarre to look at this and think that in a cruel world, her career could totally have been over at this point. Like every other SAW/80s teen pop star. Thankfully she made her way to living legend status ๐โค๏ธ

This demo from the Impossible Princess sessions did not surface until BMG compiled Hits+. I am sad to see this go as I have loved it since my first listen 18 years ago when I found the 16-Track Australian Import of Hits+ at a Best Buy. I love the indie coffee shop open mic vibe. (The US version omitted "This Girl" and "Where The Wild Roses Grow") 9. A ten point gap separates our lowest standard deviation from our highest at #5- ALSO only 4 points separate this and the #1, so the top 4 is basically interchangeable because of the low number of lists. This is also the last song with zero #1 ranks. I. LOVE. THIS. SONG. and I'm sad it couldn't crack the top 3. Why this was left off Impossible Princess is a mystery because it is such an aggressive, manic song and fits in so well with the other tracks. Also, it was the B-side to "Did It Again" 4. Coming in only 1 point higher than #4 is this epic masterpiece (which I may have underranked a little). Clocking in at over NINE MINUTES, this song takes the listener on an erotic journey without being a club mix. How this was left in the Deconstruction Vault is unknown to me. I believe this is from the Impossible Princess sessions, but I am unsure given that Brothers in Rhythm were involved on both records. This would have possibly won the whole thing if samo๐ฆ had not tanked it. 3. Only two points separate #1 and #2. Both of these songs were B-sides to the lead singles from Kylie's Deconstruction albums, though they are very different sonically and thematically. The runner up is a dark, haunting piece about kink? infatuation while the latter is a somber and vulnerable admission of unrequited feelings. One thing Iโll say: Donโt sleep on Kylie Christmas! Itโs a surprisingly strong album with great arrangements, and lots of Kylieness in the covers. Iโm glad I discovered this gem :)
