Revenge of the Best - Part IV: Results Time!
Following: Cody Wants Out... So I have told LBTrocks that he can submit tomorrow cause he needed an other extra day. That same offer is open to anybody else as well! If anybody else would like to join, you are welcome to do so for one more day!! In the meantime, this thread is open for predictions ![](http://ruadventures.com/forum/Smileys/animated/popcorn.gif) I'm super eager to see what you guys think about how this one will go!
Questions to get us started:
1. What is going to be #1?
2. What is going to be #50?
3. Which songs will be in the top 5?
4. Which songs will be in the bottom 5?
5. Which songs will be the most polarizing?
6. Which songs will be the least polarizing? 7. Which Christmas song will do best? (George's "Jingle Bell Rock", Sara's "O Holy Night", Lee Ann's "The Man With The Bag", or Pam's "Beautiful Night")
8. Trisha Yearwood just won BotB with "Walkaway Joe"! How well will the album's #2 finisher, "Wrong Side Of Memphis", do in this one?
9. Reba McEntire had the huge accomplishment of getting ALL of her songs into the top 10 of BotB! Will she replicate that feat here with "Fancy", "The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter", and "It's Your Call"?
10. What will be the highest placing song by a male artist? How high will it be?
11. Any other thoughts/predictions?

1. What is going to be #1? Fancy.
2. What is going to be #50? Pam's Christmas song.
3. Which songs will be in the top 5? On A Bus To St. Cloud, two other Reba songs, New Strings
4. Which songs will be in the bottom 5? Other three Christmas songs plus Over The Rainbow
5. Which songs will be the most polarizing? GIRL, Mayberry
6. Which songs will be the least polarizing? Christmas songs because most will have low rankings.
7. Which Christmas song will do best? (George's "Jingle Bell Rock", Sara's "O Holy Night", Lee Ann's "The Man With The Bag", or Pam's "Beautiful Night") Sara's.
8. Trisha Yearwood just won BotB with "Walkaway Joe"! How well will the album's #2 finisher, "Wrong Side Of Memphis", do in this one? Could be top 10 bound.
9. Reba McEntire had the huge accomplishment of getting ALL of her songs into the top 10 of BotB! Will she replicate that feat here with "Fancy", "The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter", and "It's Your Call"? Definitely can. (And they have higher quality too)
10. What will be the highest placing song by a male artist? How high will it be? Gotta guess Luke Combs again with She Got The Best Of Me, just outside top 10.

1. What is going to be #1? If it's not "Fancy" then results need to be re-tabulated.
2. What is going to be #50? Pam's Christmas song lol
3. Which songs will be in the top 5? "Fancy," "On A Bus to St. Cloud," "Islands in the Stream," "The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter," "Nothin' But the Wheel"
4. Which songs will be in the bottom 5? All the Christmas songs and "House Party" lol
5. Which songs will be the most polarizing? The ones that are big-voiced and slower or both
6. Which songs will be the least polarizing? "House Party"
7. Which Christmas song will do best? Sara's lol
8. Trisha Yearwood just won BotB with "Walkaway Joe"! How well will the album's #2 finisher, "Wrong Side Of Memphis", do in this one? I don't think "Wrong Side of Memphis" will do as well. I think her strongest chance of trying to take this one as well is with "St. Cloud".
9. Reba McEntire had the huge accomplishment of getting ALL of her songs into the top 10 of BotB! Will she replicate that feat here with "Fancy", "The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter", and "It's Your Call"? Absolutely, and "Fancy" will win
10. What will be the highest placing song by a male artist? "She Got the Best of Me" How high will it be? Considering the BotB, likely #11 is the best it'll do.
11. Any other thoughts/predictions? I just want justice for my girl Fancy.

1. What is going to be #1? GO FANCY OR GO HOME
2. What is going to be #50? Hopefully something that rhymes with Mouse and Bacardi, however it’ll probably be something closer to a rainbow glittered bell that jingles in the holy night which would be a bag full of shame.
3. Which songs will be in the top 5? As we just saw before don’t underestimate the redheaded superpowers of Queen Reba so I’d expect to see both “Fancy” and “The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter” in the top five. Should any other songs dare to try and even cross her I think it’ll be Kacey’s “Rainbow”, Trisha’s “On a Bus to St. Cloud” and Lorrie’s “Five Minutes”. I also wouldn’t be surprised to see “Islands in the Steam” in there because-well, Dolly of course. One song I’ll be keeping a close eye on is Ashley’s “Sparrow” as I’m really interested to see how well this one performs.
4. Which songs will be in the bottom 5? See #2 I think there’s at least seven songs hinted there lol
5. Which songs will be the most polarizing? “GIRL”, “Fancy”, and anything by the Brothers Osborne
6. Which songs will be the least polarizing? “Islands in the Stream”, “The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter”, and maybe one of the lower ranking songs
7. Which Christmas song will do best? Going to guess either George's "Jingle Bell Rock" or Sara's "O Holy Night” but both in or close to the bottom 5 nonetheless
8. Trisha Yearwood just won BotB...How well will "Wrong Side Of Memphis" do in this one? At best I think it’ll be in the top 15 but not outside of the top 20
9. Reba McEntire had the huge accomplishment of getting ALL of her songs into the top 10 of BotB! Will she replicate that feat here? “The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter” seems like the least polarizing of them and stands the best shot at being in the top 5 whereas “It’s Your Call” *might* sneak in there but thats unlikely (the stans will still show up to probably get this in the top 15, though). And considering what happened to “Fancy” in my 90s Women of Country rankdown it could be just polarizing enough to miss the top 5 but not the top 10.
10. What will be the highest placing song by a male artist and how high will it be? I’m thinking Clay’s “Live Until I Die” and Luke’s “She Got the Best of Me” making a run for at least the top ten, but females always dominate these types of rankdowns so the odds are not in their favor. And let’s not even talk about y’all always do King George dirty in these.
11. Any other thoughts/predictions? Here’s your last chance Fancy do not let me down again!

Hello! I apologize for not starting reveals yet. I am currently embroiled in a battle to try to finish a research class by the end of the month for my master's program :( I've hardly been on Pulse for the last couple days. In classic fashion, everything kinda came up on me at once 😂
So my priority for the immediate future is finishing that class. But I will try to begin this rankdown too when I have a moment to take a break :)

Before I begin reveals, let's go ahead and honor one of the bonus songs that finished at #2, but was not eligible to be included in this rankdown!
"Burning Man" pulled off a bit of a surprise when it managed to WIN the 2018 year-end country rankdown, which pretty much nobody was expecting! By the time Brothers Osborne's extras rankdown happened it was a much different story, as I would say this was a VERY expected top 2 finisher, alongside Maren's "All My Favorite People". As a former rankdown winner this song was ineligible to show up in RotB, but we can at least acknowledge its accomplishment and pat it on the back here!
Bonus: "Burning Man" - Dierks Bentley ft. Brothers Osborne
Finished at #2 in the: Brothers Osborne: Extras rankdown (Host: castleoblivion26)

Dierks :)
I still think "Burning Man" > "All My Favorite People" but that's besides the point here. Both are great!

Kicking things off, we once again say goodbye to Pam Tillis' Christmas entry first, this time with the hilariously ironic point total of 666! Imo "Beautiful Night" is a beautiful song, but it is pretty easy to overlook in a list filled with A+ songs like these rankdowns always are. It managed to be #50 for almost the entire submission process, although fearlessarrow is the only one to nail the perfect ranking.

And once again just like in BotB, Lee Ann Womack's Christmas song is the second to leave. "The Man With The Bag" is the only song on that dreary album with any semblance of energy to it whatsoever, so it was an incredibly obvious top 2 finisher for the album.....however it is not necessarily good enough to shake the Christmas curse, so this placement makes sense. I would have rather it stuck around long enough to beat the dreary Trisha Sinatra song, but the Christmas Curse seems to be stronger than the Jazz Curse 😂

Once again, we continue to follow the same trajectory as the BotB rd, with Trisha's Sinatra song bowing out 3rd, right after Pam and Lee Ann's Christmas songs, with Sara and George's continuing to survive! This song aaaaaalmost managed to escape the bottom 3, but LBTrocks' last-minute last place rank bumped it back by a position. This version definitely isn't bad, but there honestly isn't a reason for any modern member of pop culture to ever cover it besides the Queen of Kansas, Martina McBride.

Alas, the song that Trisha almost managed to beat was George Strait's Christmas contribution to this rankdown, which would have been deeply unfortunate imo. George's "Jingle Bell Rock" is just oozing with charisma, and it is honestly right in George's wheelhouse as far as Christmas music goes. It makes sense that it got tanked because it's a Christmas song, but it is definitely a holiday classic worth coming back to when the season is upon us!!

We finally see some variation from the BotB rd with Pam's first regular song leaving us!!!! In the BotB rankdown, Sara's Christmas song rounded out the bottom 5, while Pam's winner from the Thunder & Roses album made it one reveal further into the bottom 6 😂
"Thunder And Roses" is pretty good, but like I said in the BotB rd, being an obscure song in this rd is almost as big of a sin as being a Christmas song...

I'm glad it barely managed to escape the bottom 5 ![:smokingdiva:](http://i.imgur.com/t6wcd.jpg) "O Holy Night" is THE best Christmas song, and Sara absolutely nailed it. My only complaint is that she neglected to go for the glory note at the end of the song, because it is otherwise a perfect rendition! I LOVE the electric enthusiasm that jumps out at the start of the second chorus when she starts singing it higher than you normally would hear, and has like 5 part harmony with herself ![](http://i.imgur.com/2smy76v.gif) SO epic!!!!

I love the way the bottom 6 results for the two rankdowns were almost exactly mirrored, with the exception of the last two being flipped between Pammy and Sara's Xmas song. ![:dead:](http://ruadventures.com/forum/Smileys/animated/smiley_resurrect_grave.gif) Now's when the fun part happens!

So far so good, even though I was hoping Sara's O Holy Night could've been the song to break the Christmas routine. 😂

Pam Tillis continues to have bad luck with her obscure songs, as not only did she become the first artist to lose multiple songs in this rankdown a couple reveals ago, but now she has a HUGE head start on everyone else by losing her 3rd song :(
I can see why some of these more obscure songs are not good fits for this rankdown, but I am excited to see how some of them do in her album tracks rd when it happens someday! I could see the likes of this one and "Tryin'", doing much better in that context.
