#20 - As Long as You Love Me - Caleb Johnson: Not surprised seeing this coming in last on the winners list. This wasn't really a good song and Caleb didn't like the song either. Soo yeah, he wasn't too connected with it. Darn so close to a perfect rank lmao.
#20 - A Moment Like This - Justin Guarini: I actually liked this a little bit more than I realized. I know I still ranked it low at #17 and think this was a much better fit song for Kelly, but I thought Justin had some decent moments with this song. But yeah still not really a good fit of a song for him so I get this coming in last.
#19 - Beautiful Day - Lee DeWyze: I pretty much ranked this as high as I did because I like the original song. Lee's version was fine and decent enough where I got to put it at #14, but still didn't really love it.
#19 - This Is My Now - Blake Lewis: Okay now this performance I found quite painful to watch. A bit bummed this beat out Justin's though I get it. But Blake, while he was a great creative and innovative contestant, with this performance he was completely disconnected and not into this song at all, hence it being my #20 ranking.
#18 - Falling - Trent Harmon: Omgg ohh nooo, whattt?? Trent's "Falling" out this soon? Uhh I don't get it. :'( I loved this and thought this was one of the better Idol winning songs especially of the latter seasons. I love how this was a more risque and less conventional Idol winning single and Trent sang/connected to this wonderfully. I wish his music went more in this direction.
#18 - Have You Ever Seen the Rain? - Arthur Gunn: Danngg just one spot off from a perfect ranking. Yeah I don't like and could not get into Arthur Gunn at all. Also didn't really care for what he did with this song. I just didn't connect with this or him in general.
#17 - Do I Make You Proud - Taylor Hicks: Yesss slayyy at a perfect ranking with my #17 here. Taylor had a decent run on the show but I thought this was such a cheesy song and I just couldn't enjoy this one that much.
#17 - Champion - Clark Beckham: Clark is super talented and definitely should have won over Nick, imo. But this was such a bad and unfitting song for Clark. It did not suit his style at all and was just such a wrong fit for him. I hated ranking this at #18 but basing it solely on the song, it was fair. Darn at being just a spot off from a perfect ranking.
#16 - Rise Up - Just Sam: Aww I really liked Just Sam as she was my favorite this season. I hadn't kept up with her since her win but reading the write-up on her career makes me sad. :( But yeah I really loved her version of "Rise Up" and thought this was a beautiful winners' single for her.
#16 - Millennial Love - Alejandro Aranda: Didn't really care for this or Alejandro so lol I'm kinda surprised I ranked this as high as #15. And dangg just one spot off from a perfect rank again. Anyway, this was fine/alright I just never cared for Alejandro as a whole but he's a talented artist.

#15 - One Day Tonight - Noah Thompson: This was an alright song from Noah that I ranked at 18th. But the way I forgot about this but still remember the old winner/runner-up singles is really telling. Overall just didn't care for this. #15 - Never Be Alone - Willie Spence: Aww I love Willie on the other hand but also really liked his runner-up single. This was a really nice, soulful song that I thought suited him and he sang it so well. #14 - 23 - Chayce Beckham: Dangg just one more spot off from a perfect rank as I put this at #13. I wasn't too big on Chayce on his season but "23" was actually a pretty good and enjoyable song/winner single. #14 - Johnny Cash Heart - Caleb Lee Hutchinson: This was alright from Caleb. I put this at #16, so not too far away from a perfect rank. Just always sooo close, lol. #13 - Flame - Laine Hardy: Pretty good that Laine got 3 Top 10 ranks here. I did kinda enjoy this song from him where I did put it at #15. So again, just two spots off of a perfect rank, of course. #13 - Up to the Mountain - Crystal Bowersox: OMGG LMAOOO Not me losing my #1 already and this sooon. Danggg I was not expecting that. I'm confused..... I'm far from Crystal's biggestfan but I thought this was a really beautiful and moving moment on the show. She sounded so beautiful here and yeah I thought this should have made the Top 10. #12 - I Love You This Big - Scotty McCreery: Lmaooo finally my #20 shows up. Nope, this was just beyond wayyy too cheesy for me to enjoy it. I never really cared for Scotty as a contestant nor his voice. But he's still got far and managed to have a great career outside of this song so well done to him there. Lol all of the polarizing rankings for this is funny to watch. #12 - Battles - La'Porsha Renae: Aww no, I'm sad to see this miss the Top 10 as I really like/kinda love this song from La'Porsha. This has a great message and she sounds really great on this. #11 - Flying Without Wings - Ruben Studdard: Ooh I'm kinda surprised I ranked this 8th as I thought I ranked this higher. Beautiful song and I love how Ruben sang and connected with this song, Just a really goood match for him! #11 - Inside Your Heaven - Bo Bice: Bo is really talented but this song was really cheesy and just a really bad fit for him. He tried his best but he couldn't make it work. Oh right, I ranked this at #14. Interesting how close and tight the rankings are here with no Top 5 or Bottom 6 rankings. :o

"Flying Without Wings" out this early... The ending of that song actually makes me tear up. It's a shame I've never really liked any of Ruben's original material since he has a great voice.
Laine Hardy's recent...uh, controversy notwithstanding, his voice is great on "Flame."
I know "One Day Tonight" isn't a great song--they could've given Noah something better--but it deserved higher than Chayce. Chayce is awful.
I ranked "Up to the Mountain" last, but that's not to say I think Bowersox is untalented. But I do find her boring most of the time. That combined with the fact I don't like covers for the Winner's Singles made it a natural pick for last of that list. The only cover on these two lists that I like at all is Samantha Diaz's "Rise Up."
I'm not a fan of "I Love You This Big" anyway, but I really did not like Scotty McCreery. My feelings on him have cooled in recent years--still, this takes me back to when I disliked him the most.
"Inside Your Heaven"'s just a bad song no matter who's singing it. I always thought the song almost sounds like a sexual metaphor, lol...which made it more appropriate for a male voice to me. Overall, I was a big fan of Bo Bice back then, so I loved his voice on this even if the song sucks.
I so wish La'Porsha could've won that final season rather than Trent--although Sonika was my actual favorite. "Battles" is bland. "Bland" is better than "bad" though.

Candice is the season 12 winner. Her debut album, "Music Speaks", features the song "Cried". She kinda got a raw deal with her album release because this was the first one not ready by Christmas time. Also, this season had lost a lot of viewers in part to the Nicki/Mariah feud. Here is her audition clip.

What's interesting about "No Boundaries" is that Kris struggled with it vocally to the point the judges pretty much acknowledged the song wasn't written for him but rather Adam, who had a bigger range... And yet, for some reason, Kris' version is the only one that ever worked for me as far as the studio recordings. The song itself is very cheesy and I remember people joking at the time about how bad it was, but I kind of like it. Sort of reminds me of "The Climb."
"I Am Beautiful" is basic, but I like it. Candice was probably the only good winner of the post-8 seasons on FOX, imo, even though I liked Kree and Angie more.

Where David Cook had sung a different song beforehand ("Dream Big") at the same time Archuleta performed "In This Moment," I almost wonder if the show had decided whoever won would sing "The Time of My Life" regardless of what they'd sung the previous night? I've always wondered what Archuleta's voice on "The Time of My Life" would've been like...

#10 - No Boundaries - Kris Allen: Can't complain about this spot as I ranked this at #11. Although I wish it was a spot lower so I could have had a perfect ranking, haha. Yeah a cheesy song but I really like Kris' vocal delivery on this. Another one with tight rankings with no Top 4 or Bottom 4 rankings. #10 - No Boundaries - Adam Lambert: LMAOO I love that these came in at the same spot, as I also put them in the same spot of #11 too, haha. This song did seem like a better match for Kris but Adam still made a good rendition of this. I still prefer Kris' version despite having the same ranking for them. #9 - I Am Beautiful - Candice Glover: Beautiful and enjoyable song from Candice. I love her vocal delivery and connection to the song. Very nice and enjoyable song that I put at 10th and also just one spot off from a perfect ranking, of course lol. I also really enjoyed her single "Cried" too. #9 - We Are One - Jena Irene: I know Jena is a polarizing contestant but even with me ranking this at #6, I thought this would have ranked higher than this. Though 9th is still great for this. This was actually really fun and quite different from your usual Idol singles. Really liked and enjoyed this from Jena. #8 - Going Going Gone - Maddie Poppe: I wasn't big on Maddie overall but this was a really good single from her and she sung/delivered it well. I can get why it made it to 8th, even if I just ranked it at 12th. #8 - Red Bird - HunterGirl: Oooh slayy yayy I finally get another perfect rank! Woohoo! This was a really good single from HunterGirl. She's another one I wasn't really big on and preferred others on her season. But this was perfect for her. I do think she has potential to do well in country music, so wishing the best for her there. #7 - Beautiful Life - Nick Fradiani: This was a really enjoyable and good single for Nick - and my #9 ranking. I did like him but much preferred Clark on their season. But Nick had the better fitting song for himself and it was probably what helped him win. #7 - In This Moment - David Archuleta: Aww a bit bummed to see this miss the Top 5, as I ranked this at #3. I thought this was a great/well matched song for David. He sang and connected well to this and it suited him so well. #6 - Inside Your Heaven - Carrie Underwood: Ooh phew, I'm glad that this missed the Top 5 as I thought it would have made it that far since it's Carrie. I love Carrie like most people do, but I really didn't like this song and thought this was a really cheesy Idol single. Not even Carrie could have made me like this. Obviously her amazing career speaks for itself and I'm glad she had many other great songs to erase this song for me, lol. Also not surprised to see this with such polarizing rankings or that my #16 ranking would be the lowest. #6 - This Is the Night - Clay Aiken: Also good with this missing the Top 5 too. Clay is super talented but I was never really that big on this song. But listening to it for this rankdown, I appreciated this song more than I remembered.

Of this Top 5, I have the remaining left: Winner's List: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 Runners-Up List: 2, 5, 9, 12, 13
Well I'm doing much better on the winner's list thankfully. I'll honestly would be happy with any of them winning (though one of those Idols I'm not really much of a fan of but can't deny they had one of the best Idol winning songs).
Then I am hoping for my #2 or #5 to win on the runners-up list though I would be ok with my #9 winning too.

I loved Diana back when (probably my second favorite after JHUD that season). Unfortunately, that was another case like with This Is My Now and No Boundaries where the song was obviously tailor-made for one and not the other. Listening to Fantasia's version makes going to Diana impossible on that particular song.

I've tried multiple times now, and it won't let me use tags. So, hopefully I can resume this tomorrow when the tagging hopefully starts working again.
