"Darlin' I"
Written: Kenny Harris/Rex Salas Produced by: Rex Salas
Released in 1989 as the fourth single from Vanessa Williams' debut album "The Right Stuff".
The song reached the Top 10 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot Adult Contemporary Songs, but only peaked at #88 on the Billboard Hot 100
This was always one of my favorite Vanessa Williams' ballads. She sings the hell out of this song!

This is one of my favorite VW ballads. Honestly, she never had the largest range or power (that's not to say she was some kind of Paula Abdul singer - on the contrary), but she really pushed herself here; that "goodbye" sustained belt in the latter half of the song is quite impressive.
I love quiet storm jams like this, they don't make 'em like this anymore!
