I want nothing but the best for her. It’s a grower and becomes a total ear worm after the first few listens. The fact that we are finally getting another album is such a great thing. Long overdue. I hope Cam is around for a very long time.

This a cute little song, and it kind of gets catchier the more I listen to it. The production gives me a bit of a Colbie Caillat vibe, also. I feel like it's decently catchy but also doesn't strike me as something that would be a smash at country radio, and she's definitely in a position of having an uphill climb in that department. I'd love to be proven wrong and see this turn into a hit, but it's not quite the undeniable hit I was hoping to hear when I hit play for the first time.
Still lowkey mad all her initial hype and momentum was ruined with the dud that was "Mayday." Justice for "My Mistake" which should've been reissued!

If "Mayday" could limp into the mid-30s, I think almost anything else on the record could've at least came close to hitting top 20 for her. Total momentum killer.

I actually don't think "Mayday" was a bad singe choice it was just released in early 2016 and most of that year was just countless single releases week after week and one of the toughest chart times in recent memory. That and personally am kind of glad they went for a single with substance instead of something like "Want It All" which is one of the biggest fluff songs I have ever heard.
I will also say re-releasing "My Mistake" would have also been a bad idea since it did accumulate a good amount of weeks on Billboard beforehand and I think it was clear country radio wasn't on board with that song.

"My Mistake" was only out for a couple months before they replaced it with "Burning House," so no, it actually wasn't on the chart for a "good amount of weeks." And it had barely done anything when it was pulled, and songs that have charted higher and longer than it have been reissued, so it was a non-issue honestly.

My memory might be slipping me here but I could have sworn that "My Mistake" was released a few months on the charts before they scrapped it for "Burning House". I am just going to assume your right and take your word for it though

"My Mistake" peaked at #52 and charted for 16 weeks.

I am just going to assume your right and take your word for it though I basically said the exact same thing, so idk where your memory is slipping up. "My Mistake" came out in March 2015, charted a few months (16 weeks according to gardyfan -- thanks!), and then "Burning House" got put out in June. 16 weeks isn't much and its chart run was entirely in the 50s, so with minimal audience, so it really would not have hindered its ability to be re-released. Even with that song off the table though, there was plenty of other options on the record that would've 100% been better than "Mayday."

Well regardless I still don't think "Mayday" was a bad single choice and I think anything released from that album would have done as well as that did imo.

I like this so much more than, “Till There’s Nothing Left,” and, “Redwood Tree.” This (along with The Chicks new CD) have been on repeat since Thursday night. Might be my favorite song Cam has put out (I liked, “Burning House,” but didn’t love it). Really rooting for this one. She’s simply amazing.

Radio has become less and less vital to an artists success. Kacey Musgraves and The Chicks no longer need radio. There is so much politics involved with radio and so much of it is manufactured to suit whoever’s paying the most. So many artists are gaining success without the support of radio.

OMG Mayday was a great song. It’s not Cam’s fault that radio has poor taste! The only worse option for radio she had was "Village." If "Mayday" could limp into the mid-30s, I think almost anything else on the record could've at least came close to hitting top 20 for her. Total momentum killer. My Mistake should’ve been huge ugh! I remember being so shocked they went with Mayday back then, like literally any other song? I mean I like Mayday, but a single it is not! My Mistake, Want It All, Cold In California and Half Broke Heart would’ve all been great choices! They’d have sounded great on the radio. The album was pretty packed with hits. Labels seem to do that a lot, I dunnoX it’s like they want an artist to flop. It’s a shame the campaign fizzled our bit long after, kinda wish they’d have tried and pushed a few more singles and hoped for success. Radio is trash anyway, imagine having a song like Diane and letting it flop? Crazy. Classic is great but yeah, as a single I’m not so sure. Hopefully it does something.

I'm kind of neutral on this so far? I don't know, I just haven't been feeling her stuff as much since "Diane". I echo the statement that I keep comparing all of her new material to "Diane", and it's kind of just making me feel underwhelmed by everything she's been putting out. There hasn't been anything close to bad that she's released, but most of the songs have just fallen into the middle for me where they're nice listens on the surface, but not songs I'd typically go back to. I'm still super stoked for her album because I've been impatiently waiting for it!

The new album is called The Otherside and it's due out October 30th. "Redwood Tree", "Classic", "Till There's Nothing Left", and "Diane" are on the tracklisting. I want. I need. I wish her all the success in the world. Radio needs her.

Second most added song with 25 adds. About what I expected given how long Cam has been gone from country radio

That music video is great! Love all the pops of colors and Cam looks stunning in the retro fashions.

I have to say I didn't much enjoy this song too much on first listen, but I can say it'll 100% wind up growing on me. Love the video! Didn't know there was one. I love the retro vibe going on in it and Cam looked amazing.

I mean I'm usually right on top of these kinds of things tho since I periodically check the single threads of the songs I'm actively watching lol. Just haven't found much time so I didn't know she'd even announced a vid

This got 12 new adds this week, which has me hopeful that this might actually (finally) chart soon. It's a shame that this hasn't taken off yet, but with country radio, there's still plenty of time for her to make some moves with this.
