One-hit wonder from 1967. This was a cover of a country song originally recorded by Don Cherry in 1962. The Casinos recorded it in a doo-wop style and took it to #6 on the Hot 100. It became a country hit two more times, reaching #1 Country for Eddy Arnold in 1968 and #4 Country for Neal McCoy in 1996.
I love this song. My favorite version is Bettye Swann's.
