Anticonformity Alright tonight is funky little tune that blenda well on Spellbound Oh, I totally know it's not for everyone "=] I also really like the lyrics, like this part: I don't regret Any nineteen-year-old Indiscretions I can still fit both my feet In my mouth, anyway But these days I'm just not as Willing to nurse The obsession If the doc says I've got to come out Then I'm happy to pay

AnticonformityWow! Reading only that part alone it seems like a very gay song/bridge! Thanks for pointing out. No wonder miss has a big gay following (besides her work for lgbt)

At number 27 in the rankdown we have the 1st song that is not from Head Over Heels album, but her remix album Shut Up and Dance.
Things are getting interesting with this one as we lose 2 top 5 rankings! Including a #2! To me it is interesting that this great remix of a great song which we will see in the top 10 is rather low in the rankdown. # 27 Cold Hearted (mix) Points: 118

At number 26 in the rankdown we have another song from her remix album Shut Up and Dance.
As with previous entry, with this one we lose 3 top 10 rankings! I lose my 2nd top 10 song... Like I said, it is interesting that yet another great remix of a great song which we will see in the top 10 is rather low in the rankdown. But c'est la vie! # 26Knocked Out (mix) Points: 120
Again, no perfect rankings for this song

Here we are at number 25 in the rankdown and we have a song that is known to me from her Greatest Hits album, but it can be said that it is another song from Head Over Heels album, as this song was a bonus track on Japanese version.
Four top 20 ranks for this dance song, including a top 5 loss.
# 25Crazy Love Points: 121

Purge from Head Over Heels album continues with this song. This was supposed to be the 4th single from the album but poor sales stopped any further promo for the album. This is my last reveal for today. Four top 20 ranks for this ballad, including one top 10. # 24If I Were Your Girl Points: 129 1 perfect ranking for this song

Yeah, those mixes just didn't hold a candle to the originals for me. If I Were Your Girl was a nice discovery.

Alright Tonight is definitely my favorite in the 50-31 zone, and it would've not been at #30 either. 30. Missing You (30): A clear bottom in this list for me. Production hasn't aged well, and her vocals are a bit weak, too. 29. Cry For Me (25): I liked the melody especially in the chorus, even though her vocals are a bit weak --she sounds nice at the beginning of the verses, though 28. Under the Influence (29): Another clear bottom 5 for me. I don't care much for the melody or production here. 27. Coldhearted - Quiverin' 12" (26): I remember being very excited when I saw this CD in an FYE store about 15 years ago. And then being disappointed when I played it, as most of the remixes weren't that good This is a clear example of a remix that I didn't like of a song I love. The main synth in the remix was done in a slightly distorted key, and overused the part that I liked the least in the song --the talk-singing part of the bridge, which was used also as pre-chorus in this remix. So nope, as much as I love the original, the remix was a no-no to me. 26. Knocked Out (Pettibone 12") (20): This was a better remix, as expected with Shep behind it, but it was just not as interesting as the original to me. It was a bit too long, which meant that the interesting, dynamic last minute of the original was a bit more buried in this remix.

I always loved remixes And I think that those on Shut Up are all great. Cold hearted one with that intro is just awesome.
That is why I placed them inside/near top 5
And on the other hand I do like to listen to these while I work out at home
and another great remix -a ctually the one I like the most It is extended version of the song
JUST SO SO GOOD!

With this song we continue to eliminate the songs from Head Over Heels album. But yeah, this album is the weakest of the 3. Seven top 20 ranks for this ballad, including one top 10. # 22It's All About Feeling Good Points: 139
1 perfect ranking for this song and it is me

Songs from Head Over Heels album continue to exit before top 20. This one sees 1st #1 gone. Sorry George for having your #1 exit so early. I am sure you know that this was the 3rd and final single from the album. The single became Abdul's first single that failed to enter the Hot 100. It was bubbling under at 12. # 21Ain't Never Gonna Give You Up Points: 143

We have one remix version of the song in the top 20!Β In Australia, Straight Up (Ultimix Mix) was released as a single in its own right in 1990 to promote the 'Shut Up and Dance' album, peaking at #55 on the ARIA Chart in July 1990. The song was also a single in UK. Two top 10 losses with this one, including another top 5 for mamooshka # 20Straight Up (Ultimix) Points: 146

25. Crazy Love (19): This had a lot of traces of her previous hits, including what I assume is The Wild Pair. This was a nice discovery. I liked the funky vibe. 24. If I Were Your Girl (8): This was by far my favorite discovery. I really liked her vocals here. I feel her! And the melody is also quite strong to me. And the production is not cheesy but timeless. Didn't mind thinking I could be its highest ranker -which I was :) - although I was hoping it could make the top 20 :( 23. To You (28): This just felt a bit redundant to me. I've heard that music in her debut album. And the melody was just very meh to me, especially in the verses. I guess I could've ranked it a bit higher because of the bridge... 22. It's All About Feeling Good (11): My third favorite discovery. I really liked the melody, the funky vibe, the music in the bridge, and the background vocals. Plus it was super catchy and kept coming back to my head. 21. Ain't Never Gonna Give You Up (27): I really wanted to like this one, as I was hoping for a good Color Me Badd collaboration, but the melody and vibe were not for me at all.

.indulgecountry SHOOTERSo you guys did not actually knew HOH album? I have that album on cassette and CD. I think I bought the cassette when the album came out and got the CD few years ago in one Paris CD store occasion. I remeber that I was working out to this album and loved it all. Haha Those were times

@phillippe I only knew about a 1/3 of these songs before the rankdown. Only the major hits and the two more recent ones ("Dance Like There's No Tomorrow" and "I'm Just Here for the Music"). So many of these were discoveries, and I'm glad I dived into her catalog more because it is pretty strong!

At number 18 we have the last Paula Abdul single! And that was 11 years ago! This was one of 2 stand alone singles. The track was produced by Oliver Leiber, who helped to create Paula's debut album Forever Your Girl. The song sampled Indeep's 1982 single "Last Night a D.J. Saved My Life". The song hit #87 on HOT 100. A top 3 placement is lost and another top 10.# 18I'm Just Here For The Music Points: 151 One perfect ranking for this song
