Also, MTS has no previous AT40 hits, at least as a lead artist, to play. "Hot Girl Summer" (not to be confused with the Blackbear song) did make Mediabase's top 40 last fall but didn't actually chart on this countdown.

Though surprisingly there also aren't any extras from Beyonce despite being featured on Megan's hit.

Why is “Intentions” still #1 on AT40? Most metrics I’ve seen for Top 40 radio airplay still have Blinding Lights on top. I know a lot of people are tired of BL but for such an amazing song, it has spent quite a few weeks (9, I think?) as runner up on AT40 and only 3 nonconsecutive weeks at #1.

AT40 has a habit of letting songs that are #1 for one week on Mediabase get an extra week on top. I'm sure "Blinding Lights" will return to #1 next countdown.

You’re right. I do notice that AT40 is often a week behind Billboard, which had “Intentions” as #1 pop song on 6/27.
