As it's looking more and more likely that "Every Girl In This Town" is not going to get a follow-up at radio from Trisha Yearwood's Every Girl album, it got me to thinking about how rare it is for a studio album from a mainstream artist to produce a Top 40 hit single, but have nothing else get released to radio from the project.
There are certainly instances where the lead single doesn't chart/make the top 40, and they don't bother with another release, but it's pretty rare for the first single to become a hit, and then have nothing else get released.
The only other one that comes to mind is Rebecca Lynn Howard's Forgive, which saw the title track make it to #12, but nothing else was released from the album.

Chris Stapleton's From A Room: Volume 2. Millionaire went to top 2 on country airplay then nothing else was released from the album.

Phil Stacey’s country album had “If You Didn’t Love Me” make the top 30 and no follow up.
Same with Kristy Lee Cook’s “15 Minutes Of Shame”.
Off the top of my head those came to mind.

This was fairly common in the 1970's when artists sometimes cranked out two albums a year. One example I can think of is Olivia Newton-John's "Come On Over" album (#13 Pop, # 2 Country). The title track (# 23 Pop, # 5 Country, # 1 AC) was its only single before MCA moved onto her next album and single, "Don't Stop Believin'," just a few months later. "Come On Over" contained Olivia's version of "Don't Throw It All Away" which would become a Top 5 Country/Top 40 AC hit for Dave & Sugar less than a year later - a missed opportunity for Olivia and MCA.

Let's see what else I can find.
Trace Adkin's Love Will... only had one single ("Watch The World End" #57)
Big & Rich's Did It For The Party only had "California" reach #20.
Wade Bowen's The Given only had "Saturday Night" reach #39. (Not counting Texas Singles)
Billy Ray Cyrus' Home At Last only had "Ready, Set, Don't Go" reach #4
Emerson Drive's Believe only had "Belongs To You" reach #32* (Not counting Canadian Singles)
Gloriana's Three only had "Trouble" make it to #25.
Hunter Hayes The 21 Project had "21" make it to #21.
Joe Nichols' It's All Good only had "Take It Off" make it to #25
Ty Herndon's This Is Ty Herndon only had "Heather's Wall" make it to #37 before they canceled the album.
Not sure if Shooter Jennings' debut album had more than one single sent to radio. His only charting hit was "4th Of July" @ #26
Due to his label restructuring Jamey Johnson's The Dollar had it's second single canceled.

His only charting hit was "4th Of July" @ #26 Due to his label restructuring Jamey Johnson's The Dollar had it's second single canceled. ”Steady at the Wheel” was a single of Shooter’s “Put the “O” Back In Country.” It did absolutely nothing lol. Country radio didn’t touch it. ”Rebelicious” was a single off Jamey’s debut album but it didn’t last long and he left BNA. It did reach its impact date I believe. Rebecca Lynn Howard only released one single off “Forgive” — the title track, which reached #10 on Mediabase, as someguy mentioned— that’s always the one that comes to mind for me.

"Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue" was the only single from Crystal Gayle's "We Must Believe in Magic" in 1977. Weird how a major #1 song had no follow-up single from the same album.

Ronnie Milsap Live had only 1 single the #1 "Let My Love Be Your Pillow" Ronnie Milsap's Out Where The Bright Lights Are Glowing only had the #1 "Am I Losing You" as a single
And if we're talking charting singles only Big Kenny's The Quiet Times of A Rock & Roll Farm Boy only had "Long After I'm Gone. The second single "To Find A Heart" never charted.

Hunter Hayes The 21 Project had "21" make it to #21. You have to see it to believe it. LOL.

Was Steven Craig Harding a one hit wonder with Tonight My Heart Rides Again?
I think Ira Dean's solo shot after Trick Pony sizzled after one hit.

Tell Me How was the only single released from Chad Brock’s third album III.

We can add Gone West's Canyons. "What Could've Been" was the only single promoted from it.

Bret Michaels only had a top 50 hit as a duet with Jessica Andrews. Steven Tyler had a top 40 hit. I think Jessica Simpson only had 1 on her debut country album. There was a heavy metal singer that released an country album that only one song was released. It was pulled because it bombed. I wanted to say Ronnie James Dio, but nowhere say he did country.

I just looked at his single discography. I didn’t remember Red, White & You charting in the top 30. It must’ve debuted that high.

A couple more I've stumbled across
The Bellamy Brothers 1990 album Reality Check only had the top 10 hit "I Could Be Persuaded".
Kevin Sharp's second album Love Is only produced the single "If She Only Knew".

Although not on the released album "Love Is All That Really Matters" was the original lead single for the album.

Dusty Drake’s second album was going to be called Dusty Drake at a Honky Tonk Near You. It’s only single “Say Yes” peaked at #37. The album was never released as he left the record label.

I am reading other places that Trisha is going to releasr a new single. If Rosanne Cash could release a third single from her 2018 album? I would not be surprise that Trisha will realease her second single since Garth is now pushing We Belong Together.
