Drake is also starting to dip on the charts. Toosie Slide hit number one but it's going to fall off the charts soon, and everything else on Demo Tapes underperformed. dipping compared to 2018 levels i can see. but i dont agree that toosie slide and DLDT underperformed. toosie was the 2nd biggest 2020 debut behind LIG and no songs on DLDT was pushed after it was released and still in top 10 Dremolus has a solid dislike for anything Drake does. If they're not complaining about the quality of the music, they're complaining about how dominant the music is being on the charts. If said music isn't as dominant as they feel it should be, it's an underperformance. I've learned to ignore any of their posts about Drake because it's always negative or overly critical. Only reason I responded to that post was because they quoted me.

You need to stop, Drake doesn't even know who you are and doesn't give a crap about someone on a forum saying something about him.

I'm not attacking anybody and I have no personal problems with Dremolus. I get along with many people here who aren't fans of Drake's music and the only topic I don't agree with Dremolus on are their views on anything Drake does. Other than that, every other day, I'm liking their posts and interacting with them on a bunch of other topics. You didn't need to quote me because I wasn't addressing you in any way.

Say what you want about Dr Luke, but he's a great pop producer. His production really elevates Wishing Well.

You can open Spotify and listen to an album without buying a $200 ticket?

In addition, Billboard will no longer allow sales of physical albums or singles that are bundled with digital downloads to be reported as digital sales, thereby eliminating the practice of “spontaneous” non-manufactured items being used to influence first-week chart rankings. Under the new rules, only when the physical item -- ostensibly what the consumer is buying -- is shipped will it be counted in Billboard’s official tallies.
The practice of selling vinyl, CDs and other physical releases that won’t be manufactured and shipped to consumers for weeks or months -- while offering a digital download that can be redeemed instantly -- has become widespread as of late, with artists including Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande and 6ix9ine all recently using the tactic to boost their chart positions. The latest rule changes will render that tactic ineffectual.www.billboard.com/articles/business/9417842/billboard-new-chart-rules-no-more-merch-ticket-bundles

Hopefully Billboard couples this with a new formula that weighs streaming more.

At least The Streaming Forces Drake & Post will never have to rely on bundles to sell a song.

Shh... listen... Do you hear that? That's the sound of pop and country artists, veterans, and their labels managements shrieking and flailing in panic.

Many interesting songs came out this week. Keep an eye for low-profile releases, like Love Me Land, Be Like That and that banger of a song by Mabel & AJ Tracey

The next step for Billboard should be refusing to count airplay that comes from radio deals/pay-to-play! Or even better, remove the radio completely from the formula!

Why are y'all dragging Abel, when Blinding Lights went #1 organically well after release, and it's still the #1 song on radio. Of all the artists to use bundles he's like the least problematic lol. The next step for Billboard should be refusing to count airplay that comes from radio deals/pay-to-play! Or even better, remove the radio completely from the formula! Yeah I can't wait for it to become the same exact chart as Streaming Songs! These new rules are the final nail on the digital sales' coffin, so airplay is the only way we're avoiding the Hot 100 becoming a clone of the Streaming Songs chart. We saw how that affected the UK Singles Chart and they came up with a solution so bad that it's still a near useless chart, specially to measure longevity.

Sorry but you are 100% wrong. Noone is talking about BL, Heartless is the answer. People recieved their CD last month. It fits perfectly with the others. It had the biggest drop from #1 after all untill 6ix9ine.

It had the biggest drop from #1 after all untill 6ix9ine. Sure but it still organically reached top 5 later on, and charted well on several component charts. I don't think Billboard is doing this change to avoid another "Heartless", or even a "bad guy" that thankfully dethroned "Old Town Road" after so long, even if it was only due to a cassette single that shipped months later. It's a change to avoid more "Stuck With U" and "Trollz", which is why they were the examples explicitly listed there. For as much as we like to roll our eyes on the guys obsessed with the year-end chart, I legitimately think Billboard saw that #1s weren't potentially shaping up to be among the biggest hits of the year and said, hey, maybe something's wrong with our rules.

I am so happy that we're never gonna see songs like Stuck With U and Trollz hitting #1 again.

Either they have to ship their shit within a week instead of that 8-10 week ship BS or actually have an organic hit now.

Streaming is, by far and away, the most accurate measure of music consumption. Streaming is how people and most active music consumers (youth) absorb music in digital age. There's no need for a seperate ''streaming songs'' chart anymore. Hot 100 should be all streaming chart!

I know that your favorite Reggaeton star and Kpop group aren't doing as well in America due to radio but don't lie to yourself. Radio may be dying slowly but it is still consumed by alot of people. You can't remove it from the formula.

I'm fine with whatever makes the charts more accurate. IMO we need radio for that given how many people still listen to radio for some reason. And if people don't like the song's with radio deals, they'll go the way of Yummy. I also don't care if the Hot 100 and Streaming Songs charts slowly converge, if people are streaming significantly more than they listen to radio.

There's no need for a seperate ''streaming songs'' chart anymore. Hot 100 should be all streaming chart! Except no. Streaming is indeed the top way music is consumed, but it is nowhere near a vast majority that renders the others useless. Literally tens of millions of people still listen to the radio and millions still download. Their way of consuming music is still valid.

Radio deals need to be forbidden, especially those massive deals (think Cardi & Bruno's Please Me) that can influence chart positions quite a bit and result in almost 40M audience within 7 days. That's beyond ridiculous and shady.
