Not circles being #9 without the album bomb 😩 It seems likely that Juice Wrld's album could match Scorpion with 4 top 10 debuts. Otherwise, that's a major album bomb. Regarding Circles, Before You Go could have been #18 with Juice Wrld. High Fashion is definitely going recurrent as well as possibly Chasin' You and P$ssy Fairy. I do hope for a 6ix9ine-free Hot 100.

How do we live in a world where toosie slide went number 1 but hotline bling didn’t I forget the exact specifics but Hotline Bling actually SHOULD have gotten a week at #1. The week the video came out, which obviously had massive hype and views, there was an Apple exclusive streaming deal or something like that and the views weren't reported so they weren't factored into that week's chart. As I recall it was sitting at #2 and had the video views been counted, it would absolutely have been #1. It's not Billboard's fault if the numbers aren't reported, but that's one case where a song literally deserved number one and didn't get it. Does anyone remember the details? iHype.? thegreatdivine?

Does anyone remember the details? iHype. ? thegreatdivine ? The video was released as an Apple exclusive (he was under a streaming deal with them from 2015-2016) and Apple did not report video streams at the time. They ended up beginning to report them weeks later once they realized the chart impact the streams had. The race for #1 was very close and obviously the video probably had millions of streams. I remember the video was already viral that week, and ofcourse Views broke the album streaming record on Apple Music alone the first week just months later. He was always pulling huge streams on Apple Music alone, ever since it debuted that Summer 2015.

Not circles being #9 without the album bomb 😩 Dior predicted at #55, shouldn't it be going recurrent as well? 21 weeks in, losing airplay, and it'll be bleeding in streaming post-album bomb. If it does, I think that would be the biggest recurrent dropout since Plug Walk's exit from #15 during Scorpion week (aside from Christmas songs). Also looks like I Hope is finally replacing The Bones as the country #1 this week. At least One Margarita wasn't able to do it last week.

The new BENEE song is interesting. Surprised by the Kenny Beats credit, I wonder if this means he'll start doing more production for pop stars. It'd be pretty exciting if he becomes the new Timbaland

I remember a few weeks ago someone posting that Baker Street was the real #1 on the 7-15-1978 chart, but Andy Gibb's label successfully lobbied Billboard to change it and keep Shadow Dancing at #1.

Yeah that’s a legendary story. There’s also a story that earlier in 1978 the same thing happened when Roberta Flack and Donny Hathaway’s “The Closer I Get To You” was crowned number one then held at its #2 peak in a last minute “correction”. There are all kinds of shady stories about then-chart manager Bill Wardlow. He was apparently very easily manipulated by labels like RSO (home of The Bee Gees amongst others).

Except that “In My Feelings” was the one that was actually on steroids, becoming his biggest hit across the globe. TS didn’t even make half the splash that song achieved. In My Feelings Drake's biggest hit across the globe? No. One Dance is his biggest worldwide hit followed by God's Plan At the height of its success “In My Feelings” was bigger than those other 2. Even if IMF didn’t have the same longevity, it was a pop cultural phenomenon during the Summer of 2018, near the same levels of a “Despacito” or “Old Town Road.” The fact that they tried to manufacture “Toosie Slide” to follow “In My Feelings” footsteps is more proof of that. So you can stick to what you think Drake’s biggest hit is by the books, but I’m sticking to what I think his biggest hit was in pop culture and what may be his signature hit.

I feel like Drake is going to put in on his album as a 'bonus track' which would effectively make it the lead single Well, he isn't. He made that clear when he added it to Dark Lane Demo Tapes. No song has made it on two Drake projects before. It's not about to start now. He stated clearly that his album is all new, unheard music. I’ve seen best i ever had on both so far gone and thank me later, but as a bonus track on some special edition It will be the first time since then that drake would put a song on 2 projects

Toosie Slide is such a bore, IMF is much better. IMF was a song that hadn’t had the intent to be a viral hit but toosie slide had all the intent to be one so i guess you can figure out which one had more quality put into it

The stan twitter fanbases, not just one, are all toxic. Simon just doesn't have time anymore. Also, yes, I'm sure he is tired of the constant attacks on his predictions as well. Nicki fans are garbage on another level, they pulled up to chartdata's house

Need Circles to get 40 weeks in the top 10, 39 weeks doesn't sit right with me Me too, irl I personally prefer having specific numbers end with either 5 or 0. So I'll really want "Circles" to have 40 weeks at Top 10. The number of weeks "Circles" is not in Top 10 in a calendar year seems like a bad omen.

Toosie Slide debuted with over 50,000 points. The #2 song that week had over 40,000 points. The current #1 song right now has less than 40,000 points so how was the #1 when Toosie Slide debuted "weak af"? Also, how did Toosie Slide even factor into what was being discussed? For reference, these have been the biggest weeks of the year so far (based on chart points), as at June 6.

Drake's biggest hit in the U.S. God's Plan. Easily. Even if we count Sicko Mode it's not close.
Drake's highest peaking hit In My Feelings. It broke Harlem Shake's five-year record, still has the biggest week for a version of a song in U.S. Spotify's history (OTR had 2 versions) and is one of only four songs to reach 60 million on-demand audio streams (2 weeks with 61M).
I think Hotline Bling is his most iconic song, but that's just my opinion. Hello and The Hills were strong #1s. TH didn't reach a huge peak in points like Hello, but it was an all-metric #1 for two weeks.

While Toosie shows that Drake won't have such an ease with meme hits as before with for example IMF, Life Is Good also shows that despite its peak (it did deserve a #1), people will stream and consume the hell out of a Drake song anyways. People consume the hell out of Drake music GENERALLY. He's been the most consumed artist in the US every year since 2015. He missed the mark of being the #1 artist in 2019 by less than 100K units and he's been the most consumed artist in the US so far this year. It's also not just his new music. It's his catalog. Old or new songs, people are always streaming Drake's music. This is where he's ranked every week in the most consumed acts in the US this year so far (total catalog): Based on the Rolling Stone Artist 500 chart: Dec. 27, 2019 - Jan. 2, 2020: #3 Jan. 3, 2020 - Jan. 9, 2020: #3 Jan. 10, 2020 - Jan. 16, 2020: #3 Jan. 17, 2020 - Jan. 23, 2020: #6 Jan. 24, 2020 - Jan. 30, 2020: #4 Jan. 31, 2020 - Feb. 6, 2020: #5 Feb. 7, 2020 - Feb. 13, 2020: #3 Feb. 14, 2020 - Feb. 20, 2020: #6 Feb. 21, 2020 - Feb. 27, 2020: #5 Feb. 28, 2020 - Mar. 5, 2020: #5 Mar. 6, 2020 - Mar. 12, 2020: #6 Mar. 13, 2020 - Mar. 19, 2020: #5 Mar. 20, 2020 - Mar. 26, 2020: #5 Mar. 27, 2020 - Apr. 2, 2020: #4 Apr. 3, 2020 - Apr. 9, 2020: #1 Apr. 10, 2020 - Apr. 16, 2020: #2 Apr. 17, 2020 - Apr. 23, 2020: #2 Apr. 24, 2020 - Apr. 30, 2020: #2 May. 1, 2020 - May. 7, 2020: #1 May. 8, 2020 - May. 14, 2020: #1 May. 15, 2020 - May. 21, 2020: #2 May. 22, 2020 - May. 28, 2020: #2 May. 29, 2020 - Jun. 4, 2020: #1 Jun. 5, 2020 - Jun. 11, 2020: #1 Jun. 12, 2020 - Jun. 18, 2020: #1 Jun. 19, 2020 - Jun. 25, 2020: #1 Jun. 26, 2020 - Jul. 2, 2020: #1 Jul. 3, 2020 - Jul. 9, 2020 - #2 Yes, it was already established that Drake as a whole is heavily consumed, but I was talking about new material.

Drake's old albums have disappeared from the top 100 album chart recently though so would say the consumption is in slight decline (last year there was a time when he had four in top 100, now "only" two).

He's still charting 5/6 albums weekly. More than anyone else. It's not abnormal for albums to move up and down in the Billboard 200 based on releases and stuff. When a lot of new albums get released, much older albums tend to get pushed back several positions.
