If the two Khaled songs take 96 and 98 then the Freestyle is free to grab #99 ๐ฅฐ๐

The only time I hear "Rockstar" passively is once in a while on the radio or on tik tok Besides that, I have to search for it. Even though with COVID I'm not in large groups of people anymore, I think i'd still see bitches lipsyncing to it on snapchat with their finger pointing and dramatic eye rolling.

I'm still waiting patiently for Post Malone to drop something, he's never been this quiet before. He's basically been coasting off one song for the past year.

He's been churning out hits ever since 'rockstar', about three years basically. Let one of the biggest pop stars in the world coast on an old songs for a bit before returning.

Forgot to mention yesterday, but What's Poppin is #1 combined on Spotify already. Will it be able to dethrone Rockstar at some point on Hot 100?
Edit: #1 again today with 1.62M

I disagree, it's totally in the summer and has been super dominant. I would argue that it wouldn't feel like one due to covid and such, but it's def a strong SOTS imo. I'll say this - as a number one, yeah, it is dominant. But as an element of our popular culture, well, no, I don't think so. Well in ROCKSTAR's defense, none of the last number one singles seem like they'll be an element of pop culture. Excluding Circles and AIWFCIY since they were number ones last year, only The Box and Blinding Lights seem like the only number ones that'll be remembered for years to come.

NONE of the songs gained on Spotify - is that a record? Usually there is one or two at least.

Maybe my expectations are too high. OTR was not really a true SOTS Maybe in terms of what a "summer song"; i.e. about beaches and vacation, is then I agree but in terms of what song was the biggest song - not just in terms of sales and streams but also what was the most talked about song that summer - I'd say Old Town Road deserved being the SOTS of 2019. It's the same with something like We Belong Together: it's not about summer topics but in terms of what was the song being listened to in the summer of 2005, no other song compared.

I only say that because itโs โmomentโ with the remix was in March. Everyone knew about it then. Panini was more of a SOTS tbh. The summer was weird tho. In chart points obviously it was OTR but I donโt think people really listened to OTR June-Aug the same way they did March-May? Itโs radio kept it big over the summer. I feel like Seรฑorita, I donโt care, hot girl summer, hot shower, you need to calm down, cross me, beautiful people, groceries, all make more sense?

What were we thinking... โI Donโt Careโ and โBeautiful Peopleโ had Justin Bieber and Khalid, two acts of whom would have brought more appeal on Pop radio hence why the former being the lead single. Itโs no wonder the two most Pop-centric tracks on the album received the most promotion. Iโm glad โTMBTLโ was a U.K/Europe smash-hit though. The TASTE! ๐๐ฟ
