Haven't liked anything they've done since their last album with Adam

Under Cool New Music at Rock. Joy. And yes, they ruined it. And yet it's still better than "Right Left Wrong".

I don't like this, but at least they made it their own and not some copy/paste cover.

Mayday Parade's cover was better.

This will hit #1 because Active cares more about name recognition than the actual quality of the music (Adam's Saint Asonia project makes way better tunes than TDG but can't achieve the same chart success). Which sucks, because this soulless cover deserves nothing.
Awful all around. I am sure there is a way to create a good heavy cover of this song, but this wasn't the right vocalist, and the instrumental is mediocre at best.

Trash! The original is great, I don't need Matt Walst and his s**tty ass voice ruining this song.

They should have gotten Diamante or someone to do the poor-woman-Katy-Perry female vocals. Unlike the Phantogram cover, this is not better than the original.
But sounds like a Three Days Grace song, therefore after a while listening to this in playlists I will not mind it.

The fact that the original has not aged well with me has a lot to do with the fact that I just don't care for this cover one bit. They should have just gone hard with it all the way through. Here is a title. "Some Band That I used to Know"

Three Days Grace is my kind of junk food, but what I like best about the original is the lighter instrumentation. It just doesn't feel all that interesting with hard rock instrumentation and only one singer. Kinda meh overall

I'm a rare one that never really cared for the original. Back when it was out, I worked in a travel agency that would have on Hits 1 on Sirius/XM and would play the same 10-15 songs over and over and over. This was one of them. I thought it was as stale as bread that was left out for a month.
However, 3DG have found a way to make this even worse. I mean this was legit painful to sit there and listen to. Matt's voice just did not fit the tone at all.

With no positive comments about this song in this thread yet, looks like we have another #100 contender in our hands? Though Work is still probably the leading one.

Useless cover. I could’ve been more into it of this had been a full high energy rocker that knocks your socks off. A pumped-up, heavier, speedier could’ve been a good reimagining. This had almost the same speed but much less attitude than the original, both in terms of vocals and even instrumentals. Adding electric guitars and drums doesn’t make a song stronger or rocker. The original has much more rock attitude than this IMO. When a cover by a Voice contestant (is Hunter Plake) sounds better than yours, you have a problem

Yikes, his voice still grates on me. I can't make it past the first 30 seconds of any of their songs post-Adam.
Obvious pass.

Thanks, Daryl for pointing me to the right direction.
What I thought really worked about the original is how they used Kimbra to offer her perspective on the relationship that had busted. It offered insight and really added to the song. The lighter instrumentation placed a premium on the vocals and the lyrics.
I guess Three Days Grace in their attempts of gaining pop relevance a la Disturbed's Sound of Silence decided to tackle this one by giving it a harder sound and saving on the vocals by having John Grace do everything.
But it appears they missed what made the original work. The harder edge gives no room to breathe for the story and John's vocals were um, bad. He does a bit better with the harder stuff, but his attempts at crooning are a disaster mostly because he can't stay on tune.
Kinda telling the theater they perform is empty. Because nobody would pay to hear this. Next!

i feel this song is gonna keep getting bigger and bigger on Active chart like a wart, and than quite possibly infect the Alt because of the song it covers. I'm not looking forward to any of that.
