Digital singles were huge back then and they dominated that. This is 2020 and middle of pandemic, no is actually buying singles on itunes (Only 3 songs in top 20) despite of actually trending on twitter. Everyone with AM/SP/YT are streaming album leading to huge numbers that too with General audience not only swifties.

I checked what's #1 on iTunes and it's the new Blake Shelton-Gwen Stefani song then followed by new Maroon 5. A little odd for Taylor not to hit #1 there but then it's a one full album release unlike before that's just one single to focus on

folklore is even bigger than Legends Never Die if we base it on average streams per song.   I don't think it will hold up as much as Juice did for the rest of the week though, since I feel like this is gonna be more frontloaded. But this is still looking to be one of the top 3 biggest album bombs of the year. Hope it holds up well and I hope cardigan debuts at #1.

The debut numbers for 'folklore' have already been posted and since Taylor occupies the entire Top 16, it's pretty pointless - and tedious - to go in and note (-16) on every song from yesterday, even if they gained in streams. You'll get an update tomorrow on the fallout tomorrow, which I think will be much more interesting anyway.

While a Taylor Swift album will always do numbers, "the #1 biggest debut for a female album in Spotify history?" I stan her but it's even hard to digest?

Even though the presence of streaming has gotten a lot stronger (even compared to this time last year) I genuinely did not think a Taylor Swift album had this much streaming commercial success in it.

Even now I'm slightly pessimistic that this won't hold up because there isn't like an uptempo catchy track I kinda need her to prove me wrong. Because I'm here for this new era.

Seeing all these records being smashed makes me so happy as a music fan since folklore sounds the way it does, and when it comes to looking forward to me the first 5 tracks and possibly the other 3 explicit ones will drive the streams for the rest of the week due to their inherit qualities and potential to generate interest. Will that be enough, we shall see.

However since this album is perfect and every track is a serve maybe it is OK to be optimistic and hope people will return to all 16 for at least this week.

I can count on Taylor not to dash my hopes over here lol, and cardigan for #1 while we're at it!

this is just insane, oh my god. every song from 'folklore' is definitely going to chart and i'm really hoping for "cardigan" to debut at #1 (with a couple other top 10 debuts).

Lover was her first one released during the summer, but it was released the last Friday of August. Still, I'm not sure her fans are now mostly of the school attending age as might have been have earlier in her career.
