Have y'all heard one of their pre-US singles called "Blood, Sweat & Tears"? Cause honestly, that song DESERVED all the success some of their latest songs received. It's a pity that song came out before their US breakthrough.

It's a pity that song came out before their US breakthrough. I honestly think that was BTS' peak artistically-speaking (well at least of everything that came after "I Need U", I'm not too familiar with their music before then) - that one and "Spring Day" are among my favorite BTS songs.

This is cute and fun. Is this their first all-English song? There's also "Waste It On Me" with Steve Aoki.

And that's a fact. "Blood, Sweat & Tears", "I Need You", "Dope", "Run", "Bapsae" & "Spring Day" were BTS peak period for me. "Fire" and "Not Today" were cute too. Ever since "DNA", their music quality has been going downhill for me although the Tear album was cute. I loved the R&B influences here and there.

Awful song. Tried to get into it in the second verse but the vocals are just so terrible and overproduced

This will probably go Top 20 if that, and then fall back down the chart.

So all it takes is for them to sing fully in English to be fully accepted in Pop radio? #Justice4TheirSuperiorKoreanSongs

So all it takes is for them to sing fully in English to be fully accepted in Pop radio? #Justice4TheirSuperiorKoreanSongs This is their first song to ever be given an enormous radio push out of the gate. They've charted a few times before this, but none of those singles were ever given a massive first day deal/first week campaign. Radio isn't to blame here, it's their label.

I think the song itself is cute. But the vocals are horrific. Totally kill the song for me.

Just out of curiosity, do they speak English, or are they just learning how to sing the songs in English? I know nothing about BTS. lol

This is fine. Still mad their label didn't give Boys with Luv a big radio push since that one should've been a hit

They've charted a few times before this, but none of those singles were ever given a massive first day deal/first week campaign. Radio isn't to blame here, it's their label. Yes and no. You're right that this is by far the biggest push they've ever received from the Columbia radio team, but Boy With Luv was also positioned as a major release that DID receive the hourly first day airplay from some stations. Not as many as this, but enough to suggest Columbia tried, which means radio put up some resistance. And even as it was moving up the chart, there were some stations that just never seemed to open up to it. It's also important to remember that these radio teams read the room. Columbia in particular tends to gauge interest before pushing - how often have we seen songs by acts like Little Mix or Phoebe Ryan show up in the "Coming Soon" portion of the Columbia Promo Newsletter, only for Columbia to nix the push when they fail to get any early believers? Plus, with how big BTS is, there arguably shouldn't need to be an aggressive "push" to get spins anyway. They can't be treated as established radio superstars as they don't have the track record of strong radio resonance or obvious "general public support" streaming numbers ... but it's also a bit much to treat them as a "random teenager just signed to Epic" level newcomer. All this adds up to - there are many factors at play, but the language factor obviously impacts radio receptiveness to the single - and therefore Columbia's willingness to invest in the push.

Didn’t even make it to 8M. I haven’t met one person who knows who this group is. The sales and streams are so fishy to me.

They want them to happen so bad in the US. I'm interested in the updates next week during rolling.
