Love this one. I could definitely see this doing some damage on the charts.

Ok so... call me crazy but I just listened to this for the first time and I am flabbergasted by how much this sounds like "Downside of Growing Up" by Maddie & Tae. Both songs have nearly identical verse melodies, chorus melodies, and even the production sounds pretty darn similar. Listen to both songs back to back and tell me you don’t agree??!!
I love this though.

14 adds on add week. Not the most terrible but a very poor start and likewise with Mickey Guyton I don't think this will be a hit. I do think it is possible this could do well in the following weeks after the initial add week like we are seeing with Niko Moon, but I wouldn't hold my breath

I love this song. It's also getting major playlist exposure on both Spotify and Apple Music. Hoping it can take off a little bit...

Heard this on the radio (I know, shocking), and was pleasantly surprised. She undeniably country, but not unapproachable for those who are huge fans for twang.
I was a really big fan. Hopeful this can do much more in 2021. (and iHeartRadio, how about we choose this one next!)

I really hope this song can take off and succeed as I am getting "Die From A Broken Heart" vibes chart wise in the sense that it is a song that is connecting so well with listeners and general public and is picking up little bits and pieces of momentum on radio wise.
Also this song is at #193 all genre on iTunes, has over 13 million Spotify Streams, and the music video is over a million views already. "Things A Man Oughta Know" is outselling the latest singles Dustin Lynch, Jake Owen, Florida Georgia Line, Kenny Chesney, Brothers Osborne, Rascal Flatts, Dylan Scott, Tenille Arts, and Jordan Davis despite all of those singles being in the Top 30 and Lainey Wilson just being at #57 on the airplay chart.

Incredible. I honestly had no idea this was connecting well because there's like 0 hype surrounding Lainey Wilson, but I am 100% here for this one eventually getting its bearings on the chart. I really expected it to go nowhere at all so it's nice to see that probably isn't that case (and things seem to be looking up for it on radio as I've noticed it consistently has been pulling in new adds in ways that some of the other recent DOA singles from girls like Mickey and Caylee haven't #rip). Would love to see this be a hit.

KKBQ in Houston has contributed over 500k in total Mediabase audience towards Lainey’s song, so that’s a big reason why it’s where it is on the Billboard Country Airplay chart, but the gains are still promising and I too hope this can climb a ways in 2021.

Got to hear the album in full. My favorite ones that aren’t available yet are “LA” and “Keeping Bars in Business.” She’s got a distinct style and sounds like mid-2000s country.
I’m definitely a fan Lainey.

I haven't been a big fan of most of the songs I've heard from her, with the exception of "Things a Man Oughta Know," but I am very happy to see that she has an album release coming soon. It seems to be becoming more acceptable again to drop new artist's albums even without a radio hit established, and I hope that trend continues because it does such a disservice to the ladies to withhold their music in hopes of a smash hit that may not come thanks to country radio being country radio.

That would actually be a really interesting thread idea. Albums that were confirmed (or even rumored) to be completed but never got an actual release because the lead singles disappointed relative to the label's expectations..

Got to hear the album in full. My favorite ones that aren’t available yet are “LA” and “Keeping Bars in Business.” LA is from Redneck Hollywood EP. The four previously unreleased songs are Neon Diamonds, Pipe, Keeping Bars in Business and title track.

But it’s opened up more because of streaming success. In the 80s and 90s they’d put out albums without hits (Danni Leigh, Matraca Berg, Dawn Sears, Jenny Simpson, Kippi Brannon, Kris Tyler, Shelby Lynne, Bobbie Cryner, Rebecca Lynn Howard, etc.)

Bold prediction but I think this is going to go all the way and possibly end up one of the biggest hits of the year.

I think she will breakthrough at country radio. This and “Dirty Looks” both scream smash to me.
She’s talented, but I wish she would turn down the corniness a bit on some of her stuff. It feels like she is this generation’s Gretchen Wilson.

Oh wow, I hadn't heard about the album release. Between this and Carly Pearce's 29 EP, and even the deluxe edition of (she's non-country but I'm a fan) Ariana Grande's positions, I'm in for lots of new music and I'm excited!
Hoping Lainey scores a breakthrough hit with this album.

Well Lainey Wilson did get 9 more adds this week, so it does look like country radio is still behind this song. Fingers crossed it can keep gaining on the chart and make a dent.
