So happy to see this one steadily chugging along. It was also certified Gold earlier this month.

Moves up the most places on the Mediabase chart as "Things A Man Oughta Know" gained 4 spots this week to #2 and gained 563 spins as Lainey Wilson has the third highest bullet in the Top 30 this week (only "Memory I Don't Mess With" and "If I Didn't Love You" have higher bullets this week.

If I remember correctly, "Waves" is getting maxed out through this week, then "Country Again" the following week, then Lainey?

So very elated to see Lainey Wilson blow up suddenly and have a breakout year with this incredible song. Rooting for it to go all the way! Hopefully this leads to a prosperous career going forward.

If I remember correctly, "Waves" is getting maxed out through this week, then "Country Again" the following week, then Lainey? Yes, max spins for Lainey start the week of September 12th. Also, this is the first top 10 single ever for a solo female artist on BBRMG and will be the first #1 (obviously). Sherrié Austin and Lindsay Ell both made the top 20 with singles ("Streets of Heaven", "Criminal"), which were the previous highs.

I really hope she gets Gabby Barrett treatment and can have an even bigger follow-up. "LA" just sounds like an immediate smash hit to me.
I want to hear more artists like Lainey on the radio. She brings something different/unique that I don't get from a majority of mainstream artists.

Listening to "Two Story House," I almost think they should release that as her next single because it feels like something that could be a career hit in the way that THTBM was for Miranda Lambert. It's immaculate and stops you in your tracks. That said, there are quite a few excellent choices for hits on the debut album.
ETA: Also, I am elated that she's going to add to the small-yet-growing list of new women getting a #1 hit on country radio. <3

Seems like Dirty Looks is blowing up on Tiktok right now (Top 200 all-genre sales). Possible next single?
So similar to Ingrid Andress in this aspect because both Dirty Looks and Lady Like spent many times in streaming playlists before the artists eventually chose a different debut radio single. Well turns out to be half-true because I didn't realize Dirty Looks was sent to radio in 2019.

I hope her label capitalizes on this & sends it to radio very soon. While I would prefer something more upbeat for a 2nd single, I think it would still be a solid choice. I just hope BBR doesn’t screw up like Warner did with Ingrid.

Ugh, I really, really hate “Dirty Looks” and definitely don’t want that re-released because it’s the reason I hesitated to like this song at first (hating DL made me not want to give this an attempt). I’ve heard a few other songs from Lainey and she’s so much better than the cheesy double entendre and lack of inspired writing of DL.
TAMOK is a great song and I feel like it really shows Lainey as an artist, writer, and vocalist in a great light. DL does the exact opposite and just doesn’t sound like something that would connect with many people. I’ll have to go back and listen to it again after really enjoying TAMOK and a few other songs of hers to see if my perception has changed now, but I just remember hating it so much at first that I doubt I come around to embracing it if it does get a re-release. I haven’t heard her full album so I wouldn’t know what to suggest as the follow up instead, but I think I’ll like almost anything more than DL.
I know it’s not on the album and probably unlikely to be the next single for that reason, but damn “Two Story House” is phenomenal songwriting. It’s such a unique story to tell and the clever play on words works really well here (unlike Dirty Looks). I’d love to see that get some attention in the future because it’s peak country music storytelling and songwriting.

I wouldn't go so far as to say I hate "Dirty Looks," especially because once the album was released it, it ended up growing on me a lot. That said, it's not one of my favorites on the album and it would be far from one of my top picks for the next single, and like zaclord 🌈, I was initially unamused by Lainey Wilson as an artist due to it. I wouldn't totally mind seeing them release it if the indicators are there that it'll be a solid hit for her now as a re-release, but it was ignored by country radio the first time around (prior to this single's breakthrough) and she just has several higher quality options imo. I'd love to see "Two Story House" be her next single the most because I see that as the kind of career hit that could really establish her and cement her a spot in the genre, but she also has songs like "Neon Diamonds" and "LA" that would be jams for radio.

I still think "Two Story House" isn't a career hit mainly since it doesn't have much buzz at all in terms of sales/streaming and I do think it is a song that can get really lost in the shuffle in a hurry especially since most ballads released to country radio by women have to have some amount of sales/streaming prescence to make a dent on the charts. That being said re-releasing "Dirty Looks" feels like a recipe for disaster as well since it already flopped once at radio and I don't see it doing much better even with all this momentum, like maybe Top 40 but that would probably be it.
Gut instinct for me would say "Sayin What I'm Thinking" as it is a solid mid tempo song, and has a bit more buzz than most of her other songs besides "Dirty Looks" and her current single.

I mean, you kinda can't make a case against "Two Story House" because it has a lack of sales/streaming to show interest is there while also saying "Dirty Looks" would flop even though it currently has sales/streaming figures that suggest interest.... feels very contradictory. Anyway, I don't think we can really go off numbers like that for someone like Lainey Wilson who is still so new and unestablished. "Thing a Man Oughta Know" certainly didn't look like it would be the smash that it turned out to be when it was initially released either, and here we are with it being a #1 hit. Nobody saw that coming a year ago.

Nobody saw that coming a year ago. I can think that because I don't think there's any interest in "Two Story House" with the lack of interest and it's a ballad with no real figures to it, while at the same time thinking that just because "Dirty Looks" has sales/streaming doesn't mean I have to automatically assume it will succeed because I don't think that at all, "Dirty Looks" even with the buzz with it sounds like something radio would play. I straight up don't think either song would succeed at country radio Also it is important to note that "Things A Man Oughta Know" had some buzz to it even before it took off at radio which definitely helped it a lot. (This isn't me saying I saw it coming this would smash). That and Lainey Wilson isn't any different from any other new/unestablished artist, as most of the times with new artists (or quite frankly any artist) the labels tend to go with the song with the most buzz as the next single. I am just saying that even with the song that has the buzz in "Dirty Looks" I don't see it succeeding, and the other song touted around here in "Two Story House" I don't see that working either as the followup to "Things A Man Oughta Know". I can have both opinions.

I guess I’m deep into gay and depressed TikTok because I haven’t seen Dirty Looks once in my FYP. 😬🤡

I love “Dirty Looks” and wouldn’t mind seeing it sent again but maybe after one more single. I’m still thinking “Neon Diamonds” is the way to go, or the title track.
“Two Story House” is great but it not being part of the project initially would make me hesitant to have it chosen.

#1 on Billboard Country Airplay this week.
Only the 2nd song by a female soloist to reach #1 this year & the 1st debut single by a female artist to reach #1 (“Somebody Like That” was a MB only #1).
