{How songwriters advance to future rounds}
#1-5: The songwriters for the top 5 songs from each round get to advance a new song to the next round. Round 9's top 5 were Got To Give It Up, I Would Die 4 U, Rebellion (Lies), Rosa Parks and Sara, so their songwriters get to place songs in round 10.
#6-10: Songwriters that rank #6-10 will eventually get a second chance but not until at least a few rounds later. That's why there are songs by songwriters that almost made the top five in earlier rounds (Al Green, Bob Dylan, Mariah Carey, Roger Waters/Pink Floyd and Lennon-McCartney). More specifically, songwriters that finish 6th re-enter 3 rounds later, songwriters that finish 7th re-enter 4 rounds later, songwriters that finish 8th re-enter 5 rounds later, songwriters that finish 9th re-enter 6 rounds later and songwriters that finish 10th re-enter 7 rounds later.
#11-20: Songwriters that finish in the bottom ten can also eventually get a second chance 8 rounds later, but only if they get enough nominations, as happened with Lady Gaga. You can only nominate one eligible songwriter per round. You can nominate the same songwriter for multiple consecutive rounds if they did not win the most nominations up until that point.
Sometimes it can be difficult to adhere to these rules due to songs having multiple writers that don't always work together and often work with others and it gets messy, especially with big names like Max Martin and Timbaland who worked with a huge variety of other songwriters, but I'll try to get things to sync up as close as possible.
