August 22, 197001 02 Make It With You - Bread (1st and only week at #1)02 01 (They Long To Be) Close To You - The Carpenters 03 04 Spill The Wine - Eric Burdon & War 04 06 War - Edwin Starr 05 05 In The Summertime - Mungo Jerry 06 03 Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I'm Yours) 07 16 Patches - Clarence Carter 08 07 Band Of Gold - Freda Payne 09 12 I Just Can't Help Believing - B.J. Bread is one of my favorite artists ever, and I am glad that they were able to sneak in a week at #1 with MITW. It was the 3rd #1 hit, and first ever one-week #1 on Casey Kasem's AT40. It would also turn out to be Bread's only #1 hit. (Side note: Guitar Man is my favorite Bread song.) The 1975 chart also featured a band with their only #1 hit ever... 34 years later, Drake's sample of that song (Best I Ever Had) would fall one spot short of the original, peaking at #2, blocked by I Gotta Feeling.

True -- much like The Bones also benefitted from Hozier, although not as much as Gaby from Charlie. I'm wondering if this is the week the points finally get to a point where Charlie gets credited on the song.

I'm wondering if this is the week the points finally get to a point where Charlie gets credited on the song. I'm not so sure how much The Bones' Hozier version helped it, but I would guess mostly in streaming. In the case of I Hope's Charlie Puth remix, that version in the one charting in Pop Songs. We'll see if it becomes large enough for that to become the version that's charting in Radio Songs.
