12 - “Up Down” (Ft. Florida Georgia Line)”ClevelandRox - 2 someguy - 5 taylor - 8 .indulgecountry - 9 @bamatom48 - 9 HeyHeyHey - 10 Kanenrá:ke - 13 bboat11 - 14 castleoblivion26 - 14 tim - 14 fearlessarrow - 14 Total: 112 Coming in at #12 is “Up Down”. My previous comment stated we would lose a #1...but I didn’t say it was a #1 in this rankdown! The Morgan Wallen/Florida Georgia Line collaboration hit #1 on country radio In the summer of 2018. This really isn’t one of my favorites from him and clearly it isn’t for many of you as well since this received 4 bottom rankings! I can see why this was a single since it has FGL on it but glad his whole album isn’t full of “Up Down”-like songs. Hopefully someone put "Up Down" at #1 so we can lose it next! countryradio - 1 (when I tagged ‘country radio’ I did not realize there was actually an account with that name...)

It goes to show how forgettable and insignificant "Up Down" is because despite its #1 peak, I don't recall ever ONCE hearing it on the radio. Like, EVER. Hitting #1 feels more like a FGL accomplishment tbh and I'd argue that it's "Whiskey Glasses" that did the trick for Morgan, because I have only ever run into people who say they discovered him through that song, rather than "Up Down."
Which btw wasn't anything particularly special. A very nice melody managed to find its way into my good graces but aside from that it's not something I'd likely seek out intentionally.

If I Know Me might be the only song on the album I actively disliked, but even so I wouldn't call it awful. I really just don't like the production on it at all and Morgan's delivered better vocals and more interesting lyrics.
Ironically, I've had a very up and down relationship with Up Down, as I've gone between hating it, being indifferent to it, liking it, and loving it so many times at this point it's ridiculous. It was the first Morgan Wallen song I ever heard and I almost completely dismissed him as an FGL bro knockoff because of it.
If I'm being honest, I kinda really enjoy Up Down now for the catchy and carefree vibe and some kinda quirky lyrics courtesy of HARDY, but the main guitar line melody grates on me a bit and it's still a bit dumb, which is why I didn't rank it any higher than 9th.
Redneck Love Song is the only real disagreement I've had so far, but I'm at least glad my 2 lowest ranked songs are done.
Definitely excited to see what gets eliminated next. Great stuff, so far.

It just feels so weird having Morgan Wallen name his entire debut era after one of George Strait's #1 hits... It would be like Maren Morris titling her first album Jesus Take The Wheel and then having a song called "Jesus Take The Wheel" on there that is NOT the "Jesus Take The Wheel" that was a huge #1 hit on country radio

Damn, I am genuinely shocked by this. I really thought Talkin' Tennessee was by far the most well regarded non-single on this album outside of maybe Had Me By Halftime. Obviously I think it's great as well, so this is the first real surprise so far from my perspective.

09 - “Not Good At Not”bboat11 - 2 taylor - 3 ClevelandRox - 5 Kanenrá:ke - 5 castleoblivion26 - 6 .indulgecountry - 8 fearlessarrow - 8 tim - 9 @bamatom48 - 12 someguy - 13 HeyHeyHey - 14 Total: 83 Coming in at #9 is “Not Good At Not”. While this song did receive a pair of top three placements, it also received a few bottom three placements. For me this song just has just never stuck out to me at all when I have listened to the album so that is why I have it last. Even the songs that I have just above it I liked at one point even if they burned on me or I changed my mind on them.

Good to see the last of my bottom 3 songs get eliminated, although I'm still bitter that this finished ahead of Talkin' Tennessee. I've only ever really thought Not Good At Not was okay, no more, no less.

Hey, another one I'm pretty fine with being gone. This is a pretty agreeable top half we've got.

Decent top half. Would've preferred "Not Good At Not" and "Talkin' Tennessee" obviously but I'm fine with this so far!
There's only 4 tracks from the album I truly see myself coming back to however and they're all here still so I'm hoping they go the distance!

Thanks to @tim ranking it at #2, the song lands a spot higher than “If I Ever Get You Back”. This is a really fun one in my opinion and possibly one I overlooked when I first listened to the album a while back but I am glad that I really enjoy it now! Here are the top 5 in no particular order, take your guess on how they will land: Little RainThe Way I TalkChasin’ YouWhiskey GlassesHad Me By Halftime

Having not listened this album before everything was a discovery for me and a first time listen (other than the singles of course). "Happy Hour" was an instant favorite and was one of the songs that I kept coming back around to. It's a pretty lighthearted and fun song that I found to be quite the earworm.

I'm not particularly surprised by the song remaining - the three not-trash singles plus "Little Rain" which I knew people liked and then "Had Me by Halftime" which was definitely top half on the album for me.
"Happy Hour" is a fun jam though, wish it could've made the top 5 instead of "The Way I Talk" but it made it high enough considering the competition that is left.

How in the world is that atrocity of a song still in?!? I just looked back and that was all the way down in my bottom 3 in the 2017 Year-End Rankdown

Not surprised at all by the Top 5 songs remaining. I really like everything that's left, so I've got nothing to complain about, especially since my #1 song is still alive. Honestly practically everything in the Top 7/8 of my personal ranking, as I've been listening to this album a lot all year and a lot of them are so equally great in my view that a lot of the upper rankings are pretty interchangeable.
Regardless, here's my personal predictions for the remaining songs
How I want them to finish:
5. The Way I Talk 4. Little Rain 3. Whiskey Glasses 2. Had Me By Halftime 1. Chasin' You
How I think they'll finish:
5. The Way I Talk 4. Had Me By Halftime 3. Chasin' You 2. Little Rain 1. Whiskey Glasses
All of the songs left are good enough that I can't really be bothered by any order of finish. Can't wait to see the rest.

I just looked back and that was all the way down in my bottom 3 in the 2017 Year-End Rankdown I like The Way I Talk a fair bit, as it has grown on me over the past 2 years, but I do agree that it's the weakest song remaining and I'm a bit surprised it's made it this far. I know for sure that it's the lowest song left from my personal ranking. Still think it's a low key jam, so I can't complain too much.

Kicking off our top 5 is “Had Me By Halftime”. This song was instant for me and I wish it had been a single at some point. Myself and two others ranked it in their top 3 while nobody ranked it in their bottom three. With that said, we are down to 3/4 singles and an album track, which of the four will come out on top...?

It'll probably come down to "Whiskey Glasses" vs. "Chasin' You"... I'm guessing "The Way I Talk" might go next, allowing the album track to make the top 3!

When this song first came out I liked it decently enough but it didn’t really stand out to me. It wasn’t until it was long gone from the charts that I really got into it and now I really love it! It peaked at #30 on Country Airplay and #35 on Hot Country Songs.

I definitely didn't like this when it was a hit, but I heard it with whole new ears when the rest of the modern country scene was stripped away from it and I just heard it in the context of Morgan's own work!

In the #2 spot is “Chasin’ You”, a song that received 2 #1 rankings. “Chasin’ You” spent multiple weeks on top of the Billboard Country Airplay chart, and even reached #16 on the all-genre Hot 100 chart that combines radio airplay, streams, and sales! The story of the song that lands at #1 on the album rankdown has a similar narrative! It took a while but “Whiskey Glasses” found itself at #1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart in 2019 and at the end of the year was named the Billboard Country Airplay #1 song of the year. Speaking of #1, 5 of us won’t need whiskey to heal any pain tonight because our pick is at the very top! Personally, I have loved “Whiskey Glasses” since the first time I heard it! It is such a jam and I never get tired of hearing it! Thank you all for participating in this rankdown!

so I am not really a fan of his voice and listening to this album did not change that. That being said I really enjoyed "Little Rain" and am sad it couldn't sneak ahead of "Chasin' You" so it could make it to the next Revenge of the Best rankdown lol
That being said, I'm not really sure how much I'll ever listen to any of these again. Not understanding the hype tbh
