I didn’t see it in this thread but has there been mention of Elvie being a past contestant on American Idol on any other thread? He was on one of the seasons with Keith, J-Lo & Harry. Thanks for letting us know - I never saw anything about this! Here is his audition: youtu.be/UsW5iPbLyswOh wow I remember this now, completely forgot it was him but I remember this audition!

Elvie was on Bobby Bones show this morning and sang “My Boy” and “Miles” from his upcoming album Backslider. “Miles” sounds like another tearjerker song. It made all of Bobby’s staff emotional.

Push week is Oct 10-17th. It’ll probably peak at #2 at best.

Push week is Oct 10-17th. It’ll probably peak at #2 at best. BBR will ask radio to slow down on the spins for "If I Didn't Love You", since Elvie Shane is promoted by the same label group (Wheelhouse/BBRMG). Elvie's push could be pretty massive. "Fancy Like" is the wild card, since we haven't seen a chart run quite like it in 15+ years. It's definitely an interesting top 5 at the moment. Elvie's chances at Billboard look slim but not counting him out for a Mediabase #1 with "My Boy."

It’ll be a shame if this settles for anything less than a #1. It’s connected from very early on in its chart run, and is the rare debut single that actually packs substance. Hoping it can squeeze out a #1 even if requires manipulation to do so.

All imma say is if these shenanigans cause Fancy Like to block IIDLY on any chart it’s gonna be embarrassing.

Sorry for the double post but seriously what the h*** is this. It’s a good song but I have legit never heard of this dude. A massive push for somebody completely unknown, while some of the ladies that have been grinding for years are struggling to get traction. Gemme a break.

Most songs that get near the top of the charts always get massive pushes to the top, that has been the thing for quite a while. As for this song while the artist is relatively new the song has connected pretty well throughout most of it's chart run (YouTube video is at almost 10 million views). I get being frustrated that women aren't succeeding, trust me I do wish more women were succeeding in the genre (even though I do think things are looking up but I digress), but this song is definitely deserving of peaking Top 5 if not near or at #1 imo, even if Elvie Shane isn't the most known artist.

A normal #1 push is fine, that was expected as I’m aware labels do this. When I think massive #1 push I think of Starting Over and I Called Mama, both of which were from very established artists, and even then left a bad taste in my mouth because of how unnatural it is.

I’m a big fan of this song and Elvie. I saw his Bobby Bones interview and something about him is really unique and I really think he might be able to carve a little lane out for himself. He’s got a good voice and a strong writing ability to be relatable and that’ll go a long way.

Lmao at how "IIDLY" has had a bigger bullet for weeks, and now its bullet is crashing while the bullet for this is exploding. Country radio politics is ridiculous.

I am slightly annoyed that it is taking some level of manipulation to achieve it but I do think this song on its own metrics deserves #1 as it has connected very well with the listeners and general public for a long time now and I personally do hope it does hit #1 as it is a really good song imo and who knows if Elvie Shane will ever get another #1 in his career.
That being said I am not bugged too much about the manipulation since well country radio has done this for a long time now and like I said in another thread, outside of a very small subset of people, no one really cares about the whole order to hit #1 or the country charts in general.

This has similar sales and streaming as the current #1 on country radio this week (2k sales and 5m streams, versus 2k sales and 4.8m streams for Memory I Don't Mess With). Considering the latter hit #33 on Hot 100 this week, this could next week as well which is good for a debut single.

If he hits #1 on Billboard this Monday then he’ll be only the second artist this year to top the charts with a debut single. The first was Niko Moon.

Good for Elvie for getting a #1 song, however it got there.

Still liking this one! I did notice though that Elvie only has 2,421 followers on Twitter which feels super low for someone who has a pretty big hit on country radio right now. He has 20.4K followers on IG which even feels low for that platform. Niko Moon (who had his first big country hit this year) has 48.9K followers, Lainey Wilson has 92.5K followers, and Priscilla Block (who hasn’t even had a top 10 hit yet) has 110K followers.
I know country radio and IG followers don’t necessarily = success but it does make me wonder how his follow-ups will do and how much people are invested in Elvie.

Looks like this song will peak at #28 on the Hot 100 according to this tweet
Obviously some luck probably had to do with that high of a peak but this definitely was a pretty big single for all the newer artists out there, so I'm happy it hitting #1 on both charts. I will say I do get massive Canaan Smith from this guy in the sense that he has a song that connects very well with the general public but the album and artist as a whole doesn't connect and I do think Elvie's lack of social media follower does make me nervous for him that like Canaan he is gonna be a quick one hit wonder.

I will be surprised if he isn't OHW. Heck this song wouldn't be so successful of Tiktok didn't pick this, and this was his only song released publicly for a long time. The optimistic me thinks he could at least have cult following like Drake White.

I also think of Brett Young. He had that massive hit with "In Case You Didn't Know" and only had minor and sporadic success since relatively.

I mean, five #1 hits in a row following "In Case You Didn't Know" (including one of the biggest hits of 2018, "Mercy") isn't anything to sneeze at, and not really comparable to someone like Canaan Smith who was never able to crack the top 20 again after his one hit...
