I don't think the divorce stuff really negatively impacted Miranda's radio success: she never played the radio game that hard and often just released singles that she just believed in whether they were the strongest choice for mass airplay or not, similar to Eric Church, and her entire post-divorce record was a total departure from trying to court country radio. The double album was something she had to do for herself creatively and radio was completely secondhand in that era. "Vice" stalled out early despite moving the needle in a big way because of poor testing, WSBF just didn't move the needle enough, and "Tin Man" wasn't even remotely radio friendly but she still lit up the awards circuit with it. I do however know someone who is either on the CMA or ACM voting committee (forget which one) that said that a lot of Blake's awards support dried up post-divorce tho because he left a bad taste in some people's mouths with how he carried himself, and I'd say he was more affected by that than anything she may have received from radio.
We also never had a clear cut-and-dry "this is what happened" between the two because they never openly spoke on the details, but I still maintain that the idea that Miranda was somehow 100% at fault for their demise is laughable given all the factors we do know about the two.

Am I the only one who’s actually really disappointed that she moved on from her album so quickly? I can’t believe she‘s paying Halfway Home dust. It’s one of the best country songs ever.
Unfortunately, Next Girl is doing nothing for me, but most people in here seem to love it. It hope it’s going to do well, Carly deserves it.

Has anyone noticed the kind of word play Carly did here comparing Michael’s biggest hit Think A Little Less? Heard it on the radio today and I’m like dang, slick.
Think A Little Less Chorus: And get you out of this bar Out of that dress And kiss a little more And kiss a little more Think a little less
Next Girl Chorus: I bet you probably met him at a bar Let him walk you to your car I bet he said he never falls this hard Yeah, I remember that part He knows how to say all the right things Knows how to get you outta that dress Knows how to make you think you're the best thing But I know what happens next, girl
I’ve got to think some of these similarities are on purpose, right?

I noticed that too. It's so clever... makes me love the song that much more. The specific references I can see connections to is the bar, "outta that dress", and then think less / thing you're the best thing. It's honestly genius.

Looking at these choruses back-to-back, I think it's quite obvious where the inspiration was drawn. Very clever and the level of petty (I use that word in a good way in this instance) I aspire to be. :kii:

Finally a Carly Pearce song that I really like. She's always been someone whose music I've wanted to like, but nothing ever really grabbed me that much (I did like "I Hope You're Happy Now", but in a more passive way). This song is really catchy, and the lyrics are clever and well-written. I do hear the similarities to "Good Girl", but I think that the songs are different enough that it's not really an issue for me.

The way Michael Ray's single add date ad is right below Carly's first week post in Country Aircheck.

Appears in the top 50 of the rolling chart today with a really great 273 bullet! Another 10+ adds yesterday, and inside the top 50 on Billboard in two weeks. Carly has the early makings of a hit on her hand. (as we all predicted.)

This is a very encouraging start. I smell a smash hit a la "Every Little Thing" and I hope I'm right as that song was her debut and it went to #1. This would make "Next Girl" her third #1

Love that clip, can't wait to hear what else she has written for CP3!
I'm still enjoying Next Girl but I hope they announce the album once this hits top 20.

Oh I can't wait to hear this one in full! Excited for the entire album, although it'll probably be a bit longer before it comes out.

The video for Next Girl is out and it's great!! Love this song too and the video is a perfect match for it. Carly Pearce continues to impress.

Hoo doggies, what a video! I loved this video, it's between this and "I Hope You're Happy Now" as my favorite from her. It was oh so accurate and I laughed multiple times, especially the dick pic guy and that weird-ass one who looked like he was humping air at one point, lmao. Oh and the ending had me rolling! It was simple but easily the best video created during the pandemic. Oh and miss Carly is out here serving LOOKS.

That video is oh so accurate Yeah that video, much like the song itself, is gonna go over great with the female demographic. Very relatable.

I just don't like this song lol. I want to, but am struggling. It's growing on me a bit but I still don't like her voice in general, and I don't think she sounds particularly good on the chorus. To me she sound a bit strained here. Clearly, I'm in the minority though lol. I am ready for "Shoulda Known Better" tho, since melodically the chorus sounded super strong in the live vid posted above.
