SCOTTY MCCREERY ANNOUNCES ‘YOU TIME’ Buddy Iahn | September 3, 2020 | Country SINGLE AVAILABLE SEPT 23RD Triple Tigers recording artist Scotty McCreery announces his new single “You Time,” set for release September 23rd. The new track gives fans their first look at what to expect from his forthcoming album, the follow-up to his RIAA gold-certified Seasons Change. A release date for the new project will be announced soon. “I am so excited about releasing new music, especially a song that makes me think of Gabi and puts me in a joyful mood. I think we can all use a smile right now,” states the singer/songwriter. Written by McCreery with Frank Rogers and Aaron Eshuis, the up-tempo track is a bouncy love letter to wife Gabi with McCreery reflecting on both their busy work schedules and just wanting her all to himself. The song, and the upcoming album. were produced by Rogers, Eshuis and Derek Wells, who all produced Seasons Change. As the first act to welcome the return of live audiences to Ryman Auditorium, the multi-platinum artist will give the debut performance of “You Time” tomorrow night (Fri, Sept 4th) to a sold out limited in-venue audience of 125 fans in the Live at the Ryman series, a full-circle moment as McCreery’s sold out performance in March of this year marked the last show by a single artist act to take place prior to the Ryman’s temporary suspension of operations. Live at the Ryman is a hybrid concert model developed by Opry Entertainment with input from the company’s official wellness advisor, Vanderbilt Health, designed to allow fans from across the country and around the world to experience live music from home while also safely and responsibly welcoming back a limited number of guests to experience the series in as local health regulations permit. Livestream tickets start at $10. [Read More at themusicuniverse.com/scotty-mccreery-announces-you-time/ © The Music Universe. All Rights Reserved.]
Scotty McCreery to Release New Wife-Inspired Single, “You Time,” From Upcoming 5th Studio Album
Scotty McCreery to Release New Wife-Inspired Single, “You Time,” From Upcoming 5th Studio Album by Jim Casey | @thejimcasey | September 3, 2020 Scotty McCreery will try to score his fourth consecutive No. 1 single with the release of “You Time” on Sept. 23. The new track will serve as the lead single to Scotty’s upcoming fifth studio album, which will be announced soon.
Penned by Scotty, Frank Rogers and Aaron Eshuis, “You Time” serves as a love letter to Scotty’s wife, Gabi. The uptempo tune finds Scotty crooning: “I need a little you time, you time / Red wine sippin’ in moonlight / Your touch, your skin / Your lips kissin’ on me all night / I ain’t tryin’ to monopolize / Your 24/7, 365 / But sometimes I need / Just a little bit of me and / You time, you time, you time.”
“I am so excited about releasing new music, especially a song that makes me think of Gabi and puts me in a joyful mood,” says Scotty. “I think we can all use a smile right now.”
Scotty will debut the new song during his concert at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium on Sept. 4. “You Time” follows three consecutive No. 1 singles—“Five More Minutes,” “This Is It,” and “In Between”—from Scotty’s fourth studio album, Seasons Change, which debuted at No.1 on the Billboard Country Album chart in 2018.

The live version has been posted on YouTube. I like this! I can’t wait to hear the recorded version. September 23rd can’t come fast enough. But it definitely sounds like a catchy song.

Looking forward to this release. Two more weeks. After hearing the radio version this is exactly the kind of single to kick off album #4.

youtu.be/f49qGiYWwsUScotty's "You Time" has a similar story and title as Tucker Beathard's "You On," a Warner Music Nashville August 21, 2020 release on part two of Tucker's debut album KING. In both songs the guy seeks to turn from the fast-paced, "no-slowin'-down" work world that keeps him on the road traveling .. to the love of his girl. Tucker's "You On" charms with the artistic word play of "turn": Turn all this no-slowin'-down into turnin' around Turn the wheel to the right and the key to the left ... at your place Turn all this missing you into a smile on your face Turns out all I want is to turn the world off ... and you on Tucker co-wrote "You On" with Casey Beathard and Luke Dick in March 2018, posted a clip of the song on March 15, 2018, and sang the song for the first time at his March 30, 2018 Wolf Den, Mohegan Sun show, Uncasville CT. "You On" is brilliant, relatable, and among my favorite Tucker Beathard songs.

This song sounds like something that will hit #1 on radio but I don't see this being a large impact single and doing much for Scotty long term imo.

I love it! Its definitely an ear worm and a catchy melody. It is contemporary sounding enough for it to be a hit, but at the same time its still undeniably country and not too poppy.

Great song, as a country line dancer, choreographed a line dance, too. Should reach #1 without taking as much time as in between...

Oh yea definitely a number one but I agree it isn’t going to move the needle too much. Honestly, what do y’all think will take Scotty to the next level aka a-list. He definitely has a solid following, his last album went gold and 3 consecutive number ones, he tours very well as a headliner and opener, he streams well on DSP’s and YouTube but it still seems he isn’t an a lister or getting nominated, winning or performing at award shows. Like what kind of song does he need to really take him next level, get nominations and move him from the venue capacity he’s headlining to the next level? He’s got everything to be up there but is he missing something or is he not growing fast enough?

Most artists got 3-4 singles a year back in the day and it helped them get going alot quicker. But the studio is great! Another #1!

I’m really liking this one so far! I think it’ll be another hit for Scotty. I do wish his singles would move up the chart a little quicker though, this doesn’t seem like one that will move up super quick though.

Nothing wrong with this song, but its the typical male artist tune that eventually works its way to #1. A female with this rather lyrically boring and generic melody of his B level status would not make it to top 40. Its not even selling that well for a new era release from SM.

I agree it's not selling well especially for being a new single after years of no new music. IMO this is one of the more catchy singles Scotty has released. Obviously, diehard fans will buy this anyway. But I wonder if many of his casual fans prefer slower ballad songs like "Five More Minutes." I prefer his ballads than uptempo songs & could see others feeling the same.
I still think this will be a hit. It sounds radio friendly & I wouldn't be surprised if it reaches #1. However, this will probably be a long climb up the charts.

This is solid and pretty pleasant. I wish the verses were more memorable though, it seems their only purpose is to be there since there’s an unwritten law that a song can’t be one giant chorus. See this being another top 5 hit for Scotty, but one that probably will have a relatively quiet chart run.

Yeah, this is pleasant, but nothing about it screams smash.
It will probably chug along for 9-10 months and reach number one but make little to no impact.

Define “not selling that well.” Right now it’s number 11 on the country iTunes chart and number 26 overall. That seems to be solid for a single that isn’t even on the radio yet and hasn’t had much promotion yet, no?

When a successful artist releases a new song, their fanbase is generally big or have enough casual/diehard fans to get to Top 10 on the country iTunes chart. Fans usually want an artist's new music ASAP especially after no new music for years.
It doesn't matter it's not released to radio yet. That's what has has happened to A-listers, but even country artists with radio success such as Russell Dickerson, Chris Stapleton, currently John Rich, etc. had their current singles go to Top 5 on iTunes country before it was released to radio. Scotty's "Five More Minutes," "This Is It," did sell well on iTunes before released to radio. Those 2 singles even made the Billboard Digital Song Sales the week after its release digitally. It doesn't look like "You Time" will be able to do that.

I rarely buy anything from iTunes anymore, I just stream from Spotify now. Even in the past two years there has been a shift from "buying" singles to streaming. It seems like where he ranks on iTunes isn't as important anymore, streaming is where its at.

Wasn't Yours by Russell Dickerson (if that's the song you're refering to) performed on the Bachelor before it is surging on radio? Songs performed on there usually have great effect on sales. John Rich's new song is similar as it was performed on Fox & Friends. I think you are implying Chris Stapleton is not an A-lister which is weird to me especially when talking about song downloads because Tennessee Whiskey never left top 100 iTunes much, and Starting Over is still top 10 all-genre with album pre-orders available so he is the force in downloads.

No, I was referring to Russell's current single, "Love You Like I Used To" which I believe hit #1 on iTunes country. I had no idea that John Rich had performed on tv. I agree that makes sense. When I was thinking of A-lister I was thinking of radio, not general A-listers. Russell, Chris, John aren't radio A-listers, but are established on radio. They have enough of a fanbase to chart well with a new single on iTunes. That's what I kind of expected with Scotty. It's a surprise especially when this is new music after a few years, but also this is an artist who has a good selling record & fanbase.

This is great! I think he could have his 4th #1 in a row with this one. Even if it takes over a year for it to get there.
