Got high hopes for this one! Wonder if they’ll be sending this one to alternative radio considering they didn’t do that for their other single released this year, “All Your Love”.

Could it be the 30 year wait for the answer to "Material Girl".

Oh, this is really good. "All Your Love" was forgettable, but it was obvious it wasn't the radio single. Hope they can find success with this like they did last era.

This is good but I’m scared of how this will perform with the current Entercom fiasco. This sounds like a hit and they’re coming of of two fairly recent (2017 and 2018) top 3 hits. 2018 in particular is a pretty comparable alt radio climate to today, so I think this will be a decent hit. Maybe they’ll be future alt staples?

The main stand out for me has to be those synths in the background. Not only do they remind of the 80's, but more importantly they are played the the fashion they would be in an Erasure song. I also love the percussion here. Especially the intro drum beats right before the chorus. The vocals are sub par indie voice but with a little pizazz to them. Big thumbs up for the retro throwback vibe.

Well... this is a much better route of sound in my opinion than what they had previously. I really like the synthy instrumentation most. Almost like Angels & Airwaves. It's been stuck in my head since this showed up on my Release Radar yesterday.

Oh, this is definitely a good one. To expand on what Doc said, I hear some rapid-fire yet melodic picking with the guitar work here that is quite reminiscent of The Edge. So I would say that the instrumentation is like if U2 and Erasure had done a collaboration together. The perishing indie rock vocals aren't anything special but the chorus is a winner. I really like this, it'll be interesting to see if this blows up.

i like everything i've heard by this band, but this doesn't excite me as much as their last 2 singles...maybe it's a grower

Oh, huh, I actually love this? I really hated High from 2017 and &Run was like...just okay, but this is great. It's a much mellower sound, but I thought that the bigger hits from their last album cycle were more in the Awolnation territory of being abrasive and weird and "experimental" for the sake of it rather than actually being interesting. Them making more conventional synthpop is much more appealing.

This is great, better than either single last era.
And the AAA I follow the most added this before it even hit the top 50 on alt. Go figure.

This and The Struts are doing really badly right now. I bring the latter up because they are on the same label. Wonder if Interscope is just going full-on at MGK and forgetting their other artists on alt, but then again Tame Impala's 2nd single is doing alright.

Yeah, I wasn’t expecting this to perform like it is currently, especially considering it’s the followup to two top 3 peaking songs. It wasn’t even that long ago too. The Struts, I can kind of see why their new song is going slow. They’re coming off of a flop single (“In Love With A Camera”) and their last moderate hit was in 2018. Their last top ten hit was in 2014. This song though? There’s no reason why it should be underperforming like that, unless the label’s slacking on promo of course. It fits in decently with all the other retro style alt-pop the format’s been playing, and I thought they’d be guaranteed to at least chart after an era as successful as Don’t You Worry, Honey.

Wonder if Interscope is just going full-on at MGK and forgetting their other artists on alt, but then again Tame Impala's 2nd single is doing alright. Tame Impala also has a youthful fanbase and a lot of streaming popularity. "Is It True" has over 28 million streams, neither The Struts or Sir Sly have managed even a million streams with their new singles (In fact the Struts song with the most streaming hype behind it is the Tom Morello-backed "Wild Child", it may actually blow up judging by its early streaming performance so far). It would not shock me if Interscope is taking streaming performance into account with how hard they're pushing their radio promotion, and we already know a number of Alt stations are watching stream counts as well.

Can't say I'm as crazy about this song as others here are. It's not bad or anything, but it sounds like a lot of other songs in recent memory, and nothing really stands out about it to me. Give me "&Run" any day.

I really dig this one and I haven’t liked any of his other singles. I definitely get the 80s vibe everyone is talking about.
