This isn't good and it isn't bad, its just ok. His career has probably already peaked.

I cried. What a beautiful song and video. Very catchy but heathens will hate the God references. How are you going to have 'King of Chromatica' as your username and then talk about how "heathens will hate the God references" Who are you and why are you asking me questions? Don't worry about my name.

I thought it's just the title but this is gospel, many people don't like this type of music. Justin got pop bangers so I think they picked this as an opener to send a positive message.
They obviously aren't going for charts because they scrapped La Bomba, a pop song with an already filmed video also by Colin Tilley. This won't do much on radio so another single should be coming

The song is just there. Chance was horrible on this, though. Also, that video is the definition of tone-deaf π

This goes nowhere....Although itβs better than 90% of βchangesβ itβs far below his purpose stuff. Tommy Brownβs productions have been so dull and boring lately. (The gospel choir could have been more prominent though....)

Hard pass. Sounds like something Maroon 5 or The Script passed up on so the writers tried desperately to revamp it only to give us watered down Macklemore.

This is very pleasant to me. Much better than Yummy but still doesn't hold a candle to the Purpose singles.
EDIT: Just took a peak and this is not even Top 20 on US Itunes after 7 hours while being discounted? Hmm...

Discounted on Itunes from day 1 lol.
This got worse on second listen, the God lyric is so try hard. One of the worst releases of the year.

Does this have an adds date? Probably get some spins this week then fall
#3 on itunes. This is a gospel song it's not for charts, you can tell when his team doesn't care to give it an itunes banner. Justin has consistently been top 10 in monthly listeners so spotify gave him the cover but I expect streams to be low.

What is up with artists today not knowing how to pick a single? Is it that hard? Whatβs the point of a label and team if youβre just going to release shit you could have made in garage band?

When artists get to Justin Bieberβs level, they are surrounded by a lot of yes people. The artist thinks they can maneuver their career because they are βtrue artistsβ and nobody can question or give direction to those decisions. I think Bieber and Gaga are unfortunately in this state.

Day 1 and there's already an "it's not for the charts" post? Must be struggling.

In Gaga's defense, Gaga has proved she is very artistic and has deep and meaningful lyrics, I do think Chromatica did suffer from the 'yes-people' you were talking about (cough BloodPop cough) but Justin has never shown any real artistic value, his career began with Baby, and he was able to capitalize off being a teenage heartthrob, nothing is wrong with that, but eventually his 'heartthrob' status would diminish and so would his appeal and quality. He's not like other male singers who have relied on vocal talent to be able to reinvent themselves. His vocals are subpar

Why are people coming for Gaga on a Bieber thread? Gaga hustles really bad, even when the material is mediocre she always does her best to sell it with performances, visuals and the like.
Justin Bieber stumbled into a great album with Purpose but he's never been one for artistic depth otherwise. Hence why I lol'd at the "not for the charts" argument. Isn't it discounted and shipping physicals this week? This is another one week wonder ploy for the Hot 100, not some creative outburst.

I like this. It's not the bop I was hoping for but after a few listens it's getting catchier and has a couple of hooks through out it. I've always been a fan of The Biebs though so that may sway my opinion some. I think I will listen to this longer than "Stuck With You". That burned on me kind of quickly.

Gurl this isn't ARTPOP and Joanne anymore. Gaga has been brought back down to earth.
