Great choice! I was a little worried they’d move on to the new songs already but glad this is getting released. It’s a simple song with a theme that’s been done over and over again, but the lyrics are so descriptive and genuine to overcome that sense of familiarity. I expect this to be his biggest hit yet of the album cycle.

Not even a little surprised by this choice. I knew this would eventually be a single at some point this album cycle, seeing as it was easily the best-performing album cut from the get-go. This will surely be yet another huge multi-week #1 smash for him. That said, meh. This song is one of my least-faves on the record and largely bores me, just like "Beautiful Crazy," though I do see the appeal in it and think it makes sense as a choice. The singles this era just haven't lined up with my faves from the album at all.
He also just won Album of the Year on the ACMs, over Miranda Lambert who has never lost that award (every one of her records except Kerosene has been a winner in that category), so he truly is as on fire as a man can get.

it will be a shame if Combs ends up not releasing 1, 2 Many as a single, which i think will likely to be happening at this point.

Yeah, I actually forgot about this song entirely. It bores me too but he can't miss right now. I do think he needs to bring it with uptempos on his next record. Obviously "Beer Never Broke My Heart" is an uptempo jam, but his bigger songs are ballads/midtempos and he needs a well rounded concert set.
I love the guy and his music. Not a diss. He just needs two uptempo smashes on his next record IMO.

I'm very happy about this single choice. This song is right under "Moon Over Mexico" as my favorite from the record and I can't wait to see it be yet another huge multi-week #1 smash. I will say though that I agree with austin in that the man needs a couple more uptempos on his next record. Yes, songs like BNBMH and 1,2M are uptempos, but only one of those has been released, and from his debut set I'd say WIRIP is the only other uptempo he's released, so some variety with the next go around would probably be helpful...although his success is lightning-in-a-bottle, 1990s kind of successful--I continue to be gobsmacked by his dominance. I don't think I've personally seen such massive success out of the gate since Carrie Underwood's beginning (and to compare with Luke's first nine singles, she took all but two of her own to #1 on Billboard, with the other two still being blocked by bigger songs and settling for #2).

I don’t see what others see with this, as i prefer several other songs on the album over this, especially WYSIWYG, All Over Again, Every Little Bit Helps, and a few others even, but i guess he thought it was time for a ballad. Im sure the next single after this will be one of the new songs coming out on the deluxe release so i guess i can shut the door on any of these songs seeing the light of day but the way his songs move who knows, he could prob go 8 or 9 singles deep on this like the old shania days lol

Not surprised at all by this choice. It's streaming very well still (more streams on Spotify than "Lovin' on You" even!) and just sounds like a hit. It's got "wedding song" written all over it too. Was personally hoping for the title track or "1, 2 Many," though, but I am content with this choice.

I like Luke Combs and this song well enough but it is truly insane how much he and Morgan Wallen have become such faces of the genre the past couple of years. Like both artists just dominate sales/streams/etc. and it is a bit bizarre given how 4 years both artists were complete unknowns.
Obviously this song will hit #1 but it has kind of come a tradition for me with every Luke Combs song climbing the charts of "Which songs get blocked from a #1 on Billboard at least because of Luke Combs" because let me tell you the list is starting to pile up as here are all the songs that missed out on a Billboard and/or Mediabase #1 when Luke Combs peaked or Luke Combs blocked a Top 5 song from hitting the Top: ("Yeah Boy", "More Girls Like You", "Take It From Me", "What Makes You Country", "Millionaire", "Hangin On", "One That Got Away", "Rich", "Be A Light", "I Love My Country").
I do wish there was a bit of a breather in between singles in terms of radio, but country radio will do things however they want to and this will probably hit #1 in January/February

I am just completely not used to this level of new singles hitting #1 from the same artist. What is the longest time he has spent between a single peaking and pushing another song? He (smartly) puts out new music all the time which is why he does so well with streaming (a la Kane Brown) but it leaves zero time between album eras. I imagine after this song peaks the lead single will come days after. Not necessarily a bad thing, but jeesh. Guess I'm just not used to it.
It's not like Carrie Underwood or Jason Aldean in their peaks were constantly pushing out new stuff after their final singles peaked (right?) it feels like the former A** Listers of country radio gave listeners a breather between their album eras.
I wish radio would at least give any woman the same level as Luke Combs. They can be the new radio king and queen...

I would put money on the next single being one of the 5 new songs on the deluxe version of the album which is coming out next friday the 23rd. He’s been posting live snippets on his fb page and they all sound excellent!

Yeah, no way is this the last single from the album. I'm sure we'll get at least one more, especially given that he's adding new tracks onto the current album. I don't think we'll get a new lead single from him until Q3 of next year, honestly (so like late summer maybe).
