Saturday, September 19, 2020 Top debuts on next week's HITS Top 50 will include projects from Alicia Keys, Lil Tecca, Keith Urban and Moneybagg Yo & Blac Youngsta.
#1 is up for grabs next week as none of the new releases will offer a challenge. Can Youngboy Never Broke Again remain on top in his second week? Will Pop Smoke, who’s been in held strong in the runner-up spot for several weeks return to the top? Or will Taylor Swift return to #1 for a 7th non-consecutive week—driven by signed copies of folklore at her online store?
Stay tuned. In the mean time, here are the new release projections:
Alicia Keys (RCA) 50-55k total activity, 40-45k albums Lil Tecca (Galactic/Republic) 35-40k, 2-3k Moneybagg Yo & Blac Youngsta (N-Less/Interscope) 35-40k, 1-2k Keith Urban (Capitol Nashville) 35-40k, 25-28k
Are you prepared for when the big one hits? Last night's rattle made us realize we need to stock up our earthquake kit with more weed gummies.

That sounds about right with Alicia. She will match (sales wise) her last album, HERE's numbers.

Alicia Keys’ First Week #’s.
• SIAM: 236K • DOAK: 618K • AIA: 742K • TEOF: 417K • GOF: 160K • Here: 50K
If “Again” can cross the 50K mark (and debut in the top three) then that would be fantastic.
All in all, Keys’ peak circa. 2001-2007 was absolutely huge and I think many, today especially, forget that. She’s also remained consistent the last ten years despite not having even a moderate hit since 2012.

Whatever she puts out, people were buying during that time. Her biggest issue is she can't get people to stream her music unfortunately. They do it with her old stuff, but not touching her new stuff as much.

That's actually great numbers for Alicia in 2020. That 40-45k album sales is big for an R&B act. Best of the year, actually.
With no radio hit and she basically being a non-factor on streaming, selling north of 50k is impressive.

Alicia Augello Cook is no different than other acts when it comes to struggling with new music in the streaming era. Just can't compete with the new music from the newer/more current acts. Having said that, the number is a decent showing for her in this day and age.

Nice number for Alicia. If there was a solid hit, I'm sure she could've hit 80-100k

If you had told me, even a couple years ago, that Katy Perry would be doing the same numbers as Alicia Keys I would have laughed.
Good for Alicia.
I love Taylor but I'd be OK with Pop Smoke taking #1 again. Impressive legs.

I say Alcia even with Katy having a minor hit with "Dasies" (oh and a hit from almost a year ago) Alcia had minor/moderate hits at Urban and "Underground" got some play... (I know her hits were awhile back to but Urban seems to roll a little slower I guess)

I think if tour bundles had been in play Katy would have decimated Alicia's numbers (see Witness opening well in spite of a much worse reception than Smile).
And Alicia is holding on to 100% of her previous first week numbers, which is not easy for any act these days.

Alicia Keys actually managed to scrape the Hot 100 with two songs from the album: Show Me Love and Underdog, with the latter being certified gold.

^She only needs ~30K of those in order to surpass Pop Smoke.

LMAO at Swift! Thirsty. Are there fans who don't have signed copies yet, or do they keep releasing different covers or something?

I didn't expect her to outsell Keith Urban. Good for her.

LMAO at Swift! Thirsty. Are there fans who don't have signed copies yet, or do they keep releasing different covers or something? The signed CD's have been sold out within hours both times.... I can't be on my phone at work really so the first time I missed them. Friday I happened to check my phone on lunch so I snagged one. Within 30 minutes they were gone!

R&B, older act and talented is basically strike 3 for album sales so I'll take those numbers from Alicia Keys.

50k for a solid R&B is great.
These artists are now predominantly album acts (in the mainstream eye at least), but I’d say Alicia still writes quality music. Really enjoyed listening to “Underdog” from her latest album. The fact that she can match her previous album is always a good sign!

SCREAMING at "3 other new albums.." I hope that's for joy. For once, My Turn could end up not being in the top 10 as a result.

LMAO at Swift! Thirsty. Are there fans who don't have signed copies yet, or do they keep releasing different covers or something? The signed copies are all the original album cover. Clearly the demand is still there since her website sold out very quickly and she keeps shipping more copies to record stores. I'm surprised she's been able to keep selling albums this way, and I am curious as to when the demand will dry up.

^Well. She still has vinyl yet to be released. So I would dare say until the year-end holidays are over.

^Fair enough. It wasn't my intent to make it funny, but rather informative, given the limitation in the number of characters for the thread's subject. I didn't even get a chance to even mention at the potential battle for #1.

And "TEOF" was massive in Europe (6th biggest European album of 2009) and still was #11 in 2009 year end chart Girl On Fire title track gave her a big hit that was also massive in Europe The fact that she'll be outdoing Katy Perry who had a way bigger peak in 2010s speaks to her longevity

LMAO at Swift! Thirsty. Are there fans who don't have signed copies yet, or do they keep releasing different covers or something? I mean, she’s not forcing anyone to buy anything. There’s a huge demand right now and she’s meeting that demand. Fans have been begging her to drop more signed merch so if anything, she’s making fans happy.

What I don't get is how the random EPs of the same songs work in it's favor... does anyone actually stream that? The album is right there.
