Glad this is finally starting to take off. One of my favorite country tracks of late 2020.

This one is much higher quality and going to be a bigger radio hit than the other side of the breakup ("Next Girl") so maybe the world is healing.

So glad this has found it's way into the top ten. It was my favorite Michael Ray song on it's release, but has since been passed by Picture. Praying that smash is the next single!

Becomes his fourth Top 5 single moving up to #5 on Mediabase and this should more than likely be his fourth Mediabase #1 and his second Billboard #1 since I don't foresee this song getting blocked.

Acoustic version out tomorrow Probably to coincide with radio push week but funny how this and Carly Pearce's new single have acoustic versions out at the same week.

So this is Michael's push week as well? I only thought Jon Pardi was maxing this week for some reason.

Not usually a fan of acoustic versions of songs, and this one's no exception to that really. He sounds fantastic as expected, but I'll stick with the OG, lol.
Happy this looks poised to be his first #1 on BB since "Kiss You in the Morning"!

This is a great single with great production and great vocals. I wish it had climbed in 30 weeks instead of 60, but I am happy to see it get to where it deserved nonetheless.

I'm curious to see how Michael Ray does post this single. Obviously it hitting #1 is great and all, but it still doesn't feel like Michael Ray has much momentum and this song pretty much just kept his name on the radar and we have seen artists that have had 60+ (or near) week chart runs for previous singles struggle with the follow-up (Travis Denning, Maddie & Tae, Tenille Arts), and it's not like "Whiskey and Rain" was a huge trailblazing hit (3.8 million views for a music video on YouTube is pretty underwhelming imo for a #1 hit).
I have to imagine they will announce a followup single to this sooner than later to capitalize on what momentum this song gave Michael Ray, and I just hope to god it is not "Higher Education".

Looks like "Holy Water" will be Michael's next single. Saw some fans mention it a couple of days ago, but this tweet points toward it being true. Great choice IMO! It was between "Holy Water" and "Didn't Know I Was Country" (too similar to TR's "Country Again"?) for me.

Hell yeah to “Holy Water” being the next single! Hope it is a success, just like “Whiskey and Rain”

"Picture" was sitting right there...
"Holy Water" just doesn't do a thing for me. It will certainly appeal to some, but those type of songs don't have the best track record at radio. If nothing else, hopefully it doesn't hang on the charts for more than a year. I love "Whiskey and Rain", but a chart run that spans more than a year is beyond tedious.

Eh, I think "Picture" would've been a solid choice and probably be a hit, but "Holy Water" definitely stands out more and I could see it connecting a lot better w/ people. It sounds similar to Blake's "God's Country" with that Southern Gothic vibe and that was a huge career song for him. Not sure I imagine a Michael Ray song getting that big or anything, but I feel like "Holy Water" has a lot of potential.
For me personally, "Didn't Know I Was Country" is better than both of them and is my favorite on the EP. I think that would've been a viable option as well and been a hit with country radio PDs.

“Picture” is good and all, but I don’t think it holds a candle to “Holy Water” so I believe the right choice was made as far as the next single goes. Also, I’m just thrilled they didn’t go with “Just The Way I Am” cuz ew.

One interesting thing to note is that this song did not even enter Billboard Canadian Country Airplay Chart, only showed up in New and Active section a few times. While there are some cases where US hit songs flop in Canada, it is very rare (i don't really recall) for a #1 hit song in the US to completely miss charting in Canada. Michael is not the figure that usually does well in Canadian chart, but still I'm surprised that this completely failed to chart.

^ The Canadian chart really fascinates me sometimes how it can be so different from the US Country Airplay chart!

Out of his six singles prior to this one, only two of them got any decent traction up there, but I would've thought it would at least peak in the 40s. Definitely rare that it didn't even chart at all.
