We have Billboard's handling of sales in 2020 to thank for once again as always for creating yet another historically laughable #1.
#1 on sales with less than 100k #6 on streaming Below top 75 on radio
= Hot 100 #1 apparently

he had 3 vinyl singles too. I guess they will be counted next week chart. I think I read the Vinyl singles will be delivered in either 12 or 16 weeks (I can't remember which exactly). I wonder if that will give it a boost later on in its chart run? *If it's still charting by then. This will have a bigger second week drop than the Scotts and the Scotts debuted with more streams, had more "longevity" on streaming and charted for 13 weeks total. This will be lucky to last 10 weeks.

M.I.A. at 45 is one of the oldest women to go #1.
The last woman older was Mariah last year, however the last woman older to hit #1 with a song in its initial run was Cher's Believe in 1999. (52 years old)

Hey, fhas would you mind dividing the sales by 2 in your spreadsheet in Excel and posting how the top 10 would look like with sales counting half. 10 sales = 1 point in your formula.
Reason for dividing sales by 2:
Billboard 250 paid streams = 1 sale RIAA 150 paid streams = 1 sale Rolling Stone 120 paid streams = 1 sale UK chart 100 paid streams = 1 sale

Like I said the other week, Billboard is creating an alternate reality. In real world, WAP never stopped being a #1. Many here will still continue to play dumb and deny this.

The BTS stans. BITCHING on Twitter about βPhysical bundlesβ as if βDynamiteβ wasnβt completely sales driven, comprised of almost two dozen remixes and a myriad of discounts.
Girl, please. β οΈ
This number one is hilarious and nothing but a product of a broken chart system but congrats. to Scott either way. Heβs in the record books.

So it really wasn't pushed that much.

YESSSSSSSSSS!!! TRAVIS SCOTT #1!!!!!!!!!
I'M SO HAPPY AAAAH. MY GOAT!
There's a sentiment online for the hip hop heads that his popularity / fame / exposure peaked in 2018 with SICKO MODE but alas... in 2020 here we are with the fastest accumulation of #1 singles (sorry ms. grande butera)
Nice to see that America is eating up *literally* Travis Scott after Rodeo is so much fun to witness. From the McDonalds burgers, to the fornite concert to the #1 singles Travis is having a great year!
(Y'all will reply to this with longevity... but who cares at this point in the year when half the #1s this year used #tactics from the pop girls to the rap stars. It's now commonplace)

You may not have noticed but Travis' fanbase is streaming less and buying more, so while his next album may have a bigger debut than ASTROWORLD, it may very well not serve the kind of longevity ASTROWORLD had on streaming.

I can't even be mad at the artists for this anymore tbh. If Billboard wanted to change this, they could by reweighing sales to have significantly less impact, but they refuse to because they're hopelessly determined to keep song sales relevant, even if it means sacrificing their credibility in the process.

Sales should be more relevant. 1 digital download for instance brings in a lot more revenue than 1 stream Money directly out of the consumers pocket I don't see that changing, nor do I see it as a Billboard credibility issue

They're likely never going to down weigh the strengths of sales. The amount of ad revenue and attention that they get when a number one is announced is just too great. Especially when third party website announcements lead to people checking the Hot 100 just to make sure that a new number one did indeed happen. They love the attention that they get from stans.

Bundle Scott strikes again! So Franchise is #2 in Digital Song Sales even though it sold more Dynamite?

Literally just look at "WAP" and "Harlem Shake" (I'm not too sure on the latter tbh), which weren't the highest earning songs of the week, but were clearly the most popular.

Bundle Scott strikes again! So Franchise is #2 in Digital Song Sales even though it sold more Dynamite? Digital Song Sales: #1 Dynamite 86,000 #2 FRANCHISE 40,000
Physical sales don't count here.
