This era apparently isn’t done. Impacts Alternative on October 13, 2020.

Another slower single? This one is decent I guess but I would have much preferred “Dance Dance” or “Tokyo Smoke”.

This is a good song, better than "Black Madonna", but I dearly wish this was "Tokyo Smoke" instead.

Yes! This would of been my 4th single choice as well and 5th being “Dance Dance.”

It s nice to hear a slower alternative song without any of those hi-hats effix. Cage The Elephant always have a psychedelic music tone to their music.

I believe there's going to be a 2020 mix. All Access has the link, but it's not working at the moment.

Under Cool New Music for Alternative. Strangely not up yet for AAA despite the previous three singles for "Social Cues" doing well there.

I looked under the “Future Releases” section on AllAccess like I do everyday, and this song finally has a play icon next to it, which means I can listen to the radio edit (I think?). It sounds pretty much identical to the album version. I don’t think that’s the 2020 Mix, because I have seen what Kyle is talking about.

Out of the remaining songs left for singles, I would have rather gone with "Broken Boy," "House of Glass," or "Tokyo Smoke," but this is fine. After hearing it a few more times, it's not bad. Just CTE on autopilot imo.

For some strange reason (and feel free to laugh away), I was thinking this was a Foo Fighters cover.
I'm really glad to see the label have the gonads to go 4-deep with some of these artists. Yes, this is slower, more alongside the third single, but this is still strong, IMO, and should do well. More upbeat/uptempo Cage will be back sooner rather than later.

I know a ton of Active bands go 4 deep, but what was the last successful Alternative band to go 4 singles deep, besides 21 Pilots? Doesn’t happen very often at all.

Billie Eilish got four alt top 10s from her 2019 album. There was a fifth single but it didn't happen. Not a band, but still.

Yeah, Twenty One Pilots went four radio singles deep with Trench (not counting “Nico and the Niners” or “Levitate” which didn’t chart). Beck (not a band but still) also went four radio singles deep with Colors (not counting “Dear Life” which didn’t chart). Muse’s Simulation Theory went four radio singles deep as well (“The Dark Side” didn’t chart so it isn’t counted). Cage the Elephant is an alt powerhouse right now so I’m confident this one is going top ten.

This is just a thought I had, but maybe it's because a lot of the artists on Alt to chart well over the last few years are relatively new to the mainstream? They may not be massive enough names yet to get a record company to allow them to release four singles.
I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but just a guess.

True with Beck and Muse. It does help that the singles were released independently long before the album's release...but you're correct. Those still count. As for those alternative artists not going four-deep, it's an interesting discussion and I think a number of characteristics are at play.
As AmericanIdiot mentioned, there are more newer artists on this format as opposed to the other two. It also will favor heritage acts more frequently than pop, which results in a pretty crowded format, where you have a combination of 24KGoldn's and Weezer's...which is both awesome and fascinating. You'd think the labels would still try to push the Black Keys, for example, as they have a ton of brand loyalty, more on Alternative than Active Rock. You'd also think you have artists pushing singles to different formats more frequently, like Pearl Jam did with their most recent album (and Muse from a couple albums ago come to mind).
I've expanded my reach a bit in terms of what I follow - it does help that Kansas City has two Active Rock stations and one alt. station (I consider 105.1 Active Rock). I've followed AAA much more closely this year, too (New Years resolution fulfilled - a small victory but one nonetheless).
*Edit* Now I see 105.1 has been correctly moved to Active Rock. Awesome.

18 Alternative, 4 Triple A, & 1 Active add on impact day. It also says it's the 2020 Mix.

Again, a solid track. I think it'll perform on par with "Weight of Love" (Black Keys). Not a high peaker but decent longevity a nice transition going into...a new era?

They are probably going to release the new mix soon as my latest chart videos got blocked - a sign that there is a new version of a song yet to be released.

The 2020 mix just came out! Imo it’s almost indistinguishable from the version on Social Cues. There is something different about it though.
