Not that he cares (or anyone) but post-Señorita he kinda lost his sex appeal for me. He looks boring. The hair is a mess and the sexy angle looks forced.
I was stanning for his self titled era so hard 😭 aside from the very solid album (give it a shot if you haven't, even if you hate the more recent stuff), he managed to look good without it being forced.
Anyways aside from looks, I do hope this new single flopping is a wake up call. He tried boring HAC, Justin Bieber feature and now standalone generic bop to no avail...

So excited for the tour! I am in love with "Summer of Love" (and have had "Teach Me How to Love" on loop all year.) Seeing him play in NYC this weekend. Cannot wait!

Sadly, some artists get pigeonholed like that where people don’t want the same old stuff from the artists but also criticize them when they try something different. Personally, I think he should try more stuff like “Teach Me How To Love” when it comes to upbeat and stuff like “Lost In Japan” when it comes to more mellow songs. Granted, I think he just needs a major PR overhaul and shift the focus away from his relationship which feels so forced. |

Lost in Japan - the Zedd remix is one of my favorite songs from him. I wish he would go in that pop direction instead of the boring singer songwriter stuff. The remix is probably my favorite Shawn song too. I’d love something similar to that lyrically with a more updated dance production, maybe with a little disco or synth pop influence. I enjoyed Wonder (the album) when it first came out but months later, the only song I return to is “Teach Me How To Love” and tbh, the only songs I really listened to frequently after the release was the aforementioned, the title track, “Higher”, and “Dream”. |

I don't think Shawn being more sexual, exploring his sexuality, wearing less clothing when going out, etc. is a bad thing because most of us when we were that age were doing the same thing and so much more but not in the public eye. As long as he is in control and no one is making him do it, it's fine.

He really probably needs to focus on himself and find inspiration and a voice in music. I will say since he and Camila started dating they both have released uninspired and bland offerings. It’s like their relationship drained any semblance of a personality for both of them, and it is seeping over into their music.

I revisited the Wonder album, and honestly, it's a lot better than I remember it being -- and a lot better than what it achieved. There are truly some gems in that album.
